While I’ve seen all of ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Luke Cage’, I didn’t watch any of ‘Jessica Jones’, and I only made it through episode 4 of ‘Iron Fist’. Still, even with only having seen a little over half of the Netflix Marvel series, it’s not hard to get at least a bit excited about the upcoming ‘The Defenders’ teamup series. As a bonus, it has the same showrunner as ‘Daredevil’ Season 2, Marco Ramirez, so there’s a better chance it’s more on the ‘Daredevil’ side of quality, and less on the ‘Iron Fist’ side.
All episodes of ‘The Defenders’ will be available on Netflix starting August 18th, 2017.

Adult Swim’s April Fool’s event usually involve playing Tommy Wiseau’s ‘The Room’, or as is the case a few years back revitalizing Toonami, but this year they started off the block with a preview of Season Three of the highly-popular sci-fi comedy series ‘Rick and Morty’.
As was made clear from a bump aired after the episode ended, the season officially starts this Summer, but this first episode is a welcome preview.
If you missed it, the episode will be on repeat on Cartoon Network until midnight Eastern, and it’s also playing on repeat on the official Adult Swim April Fool’s stream, which can be watched at the link below:
If you don’t mind spoilers, here’s the first 35 minutes of the upcoming reboot/rebranding/reimagining of Prey. It’s pretty much System Shock 3, which coincidentally is also going to be developed.
Tonight was the premiere of Samurai Jack season 5. If you missed it, or you’re without cable, or if you want to see it again, Adult Swim is streaming a marathon of the episode for free on their website. Check it out at the link below:
Hot Toys is releasing a 1/6 scale figurine of The Punisher as portrayed by Jon Bernthal in the Netflix Daredevil series. The figure features over 30 points of articulation, along with multiple weapons, a special figure stand, and a damaged Daredevil mask.
Yea, Superbowl, go Patriots, etc. What was really worth the watch was the trailers for upcoming flicks like ‘Logan’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2’, and the new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film staring Javier Bardem as an undead pirate. Among those was a teaser for the second season of ‘Stranger Things’, appropriately called ‘Stranger Things 2’, AKA that series that’s a love letter to Spielberg 80’s movies with a sweet synth soundtrack.
Look forward to Stranger Things 2 coming out this Halloween.
It’s been a little over 3 years since I last featured Starcher Trek, a mashup of Archer and Star Trek the Animated Series, on TFB, and not only is still great, but it’s gotten new episodes since then.
Singer/Songwriter Paul Williams showed up on the set of the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1973, wearing his Virgil makeup from Battle of the Planet of the Apes.
If you happen to like Tim and Eric-esque off-beat, frankly weird humor, then you might want to check out the upcoming Adult Swim show Decker: Unclassified. It stars Tim Heidecker as Jack Decker, and is pretty much Tim and Eric meets 24.
Preacher, the series based on Garth Ennis’ comic series of the same name, premiers tonight on AMC. Given the content of the comic series, you’d think it would be a better fit on, say, HBO, or the like. Then again, Breaking Bad was good, so maybe there’s hope.
Continuing with the superhero movie and television news, of which there’s going to be a lot of this year, Netflix released this trailer for the upcoming second season of the Daredevil series. This is continued proof that a good trailer goes a long way in solidifying a casting choice, in this case in regards to Jon Bernthal as Punisher.
The second season of Punisher drops March 18th on Netflix.
The official Ash vs Evil Dead Facebook page has uploaded the first episode of the new series as a special preview. If you’re a fan of the previous Evil Dead movies (Army of Darkness included) and you don’t have cable, or just didn’t manage to catch it when it originally aired, then you’re in luck.
