Emperor Palpatine Voiced By Mark Hamill’s Joker

Tuesday, August 27th, 2013

Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in his confrontation with Emperor Palpatine from Return of the Jedi, except the Emperor has been dubbed over with sound clips from The Joker (also Mark Hamill). Also, Darth Vader is now Bane from The Dark Knight Rises.

TROOPS is the classic ‘Star Wars’ fan film that parodies COPS; an oldie but a goodie.

Darth Vader Touring His New Home

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

In (the unlikely event) you missed the news, Disney purchased LucasFilms and most, if not all, of its assets for 4 billion dollars. I wonder if we’ll finally see a blu-ray release of the original, unaltered trilogy now that Lucas and his “vision” isn’t holding it back. I also request a version of ‘Crystal Skull’ with all scenes featuring Shia LeBeouf either altered or completely removed.

Imperial Death Star Officer’s Cap

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

ThinkGeek is selling replicas of the Imperial Death Star Officer’s Cap from the ‘Star Wars’ films. They’re created from the existing cut patterns from the LucasFilms archives and made using a heavy, custom dyed, all-cotton weave, which is similar to the fabric used to make the originals. The cap also includes an aluminum Imperial disk, which functions as “the metal thing in the center of the forehead”. Great for cosplay or just wearing around, because nothing says ‘I’m awesome’ quite like an Imperial Officer’s Cap.

You can buy it here.

Everyone’s Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Character (Sucks at His Job)

Everyone’s Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Character (Sucks at His Job) — powered by Cracked.com

This video from Cracked.com, my second-favorite internet time-sink only behind tvtropes, explains exactly why Boba Fett is honestly the worst bounty hunter in the galaxy. While I’m a huge proponent of the Fett, it’s hard to argue against anything pointed out in this video, at least in the films; the Expanded Universe does some amazing things for Boba. Having said that, it’s still the EU, and therefore is completely invalid in any serious Star Wars argument by property of essentially being one ginormous grouping of fan fiction, no matter how ‘canon’ it all is.

The Wrath of Sulu

Monday, March 19th, 2012

They should have made another Star Trek movie with the old crew, starring Sulu and the Excelsior. Seriously, would it have been too much to ask they do that before the the Next Generation got hold of things?

Ever wonder what would happen if the Excelsior and the Enterprise went to fisticuffs?

Star Wars Uncut: Director’s Cut

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

First, take the beloved classic ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’. Next, cut it up into 15 second increments. Then, have a bunch of fans choose the clip of their choice, and refilm it in any style of their choosing. Finally, splice the fan-clips together into a complete movie and show it on the internet. That’s the idea behind Star Wars Uncut: Director’s Cut.

You can watch it on YouTube.

Star Wars Themed Target Range Posters

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

20120114-140049.jpg

Sneaky Studios has designed a line of Star Wars themed target range posters. Characters include the Rancor, Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper taking Princess Leia as a hostage, and of course the man himself, Boba Fett. Each poster is a high-quality digital print on 220gsm premium paper stock, is signed by the artist, and will run you $35 a piece, so you might not want to plug holes in the originals. Luckily, this is exactly what local print shops (or office supply stores) exist for, right?

CES 2012 – Mimoco

Friday, January 13th, 2012

I’m not gonna lie. At first, my interest was purely in the property rights this company was carrying. A Boba Fett Return of the Jedi edition MIMOBOT USB drive? Hell, yeah! But, Mimoco has come up with a useful tool in their MIMOMICRO card reader/USB drive.

MIMOMICROs allow for easy transfer of data stored on microSD cards. You know, the really small ones that almost always require an adapter since barely any computers on the market accept them as is? My camera takes them, and in case you couldn’t tell, I’m not a big fan. You simply insert the microSD card into the device, then flip out the USB plug. Simple and fast usage of the normally pain-in-the-ass microSD. Plus, Batman and Darth Vader make everything cooler. The MIMOMICRO line will be available March of this year.

LEGO Battle Of Hoth

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

This LEGO layout is just epic. It’s so epic, that if it were made into an actual set, the instructions included with it would easily, and literally, blow the mind of any 12-year-old foolhardy enough to attempt to build it. Built by Bo Jensen of Copenhagen, Denmark, the layout was recently presented at LEGO World 2011. It’s constructed from 1,500,000 individual bricks and took over a thousand man hours to complete, and includes 5 AT-ATs with two of them that walk, moving speederbikes and Snowspeeders, and a detailed interior of the rebel base, among other features. The only thing that could possibly top this is a layout of the final battle in Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Any takers?
