Movies like Platoon and Saving Private Ryan and series like Band of Brothers and The Pacific are known for their portrayal of the gritty realism of war. This is largely in part to Dale Dye and his company Warrior Inc. Dye, a former marine with several tours in Vietnam, served as both an infantryman and combat correspondent. This experience led to his career as a consultant for and actor in various Hollywood war movies, including the aforementioned Platoon, which has been released on Blu-ray today, May 24th.
