Hyperkin’s RetroN 5 console is a multi-cartridge gaming device that plays NES, SNES, Genesis, Famicom, GBA, Super Famicom, Mega Drive, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy cartridges. A new chipset removes issues with region locking and compatibility, allowing both PAL and NTSC cartridges and games with CIC lockout chips and FX chips. It has a standard bluetooth wireless controller with input buttons for all supported systems, although it also features controller ports compatible with SNES, NES, and Genesis wired controllers. Other advanced features include: save states, HDMI compatibility up to 720P, improved sound, and a GUI that allows one to further customize their gaming experience. It will be released on December 10th, 2013.
