Arguably the best scene in the best Matrix film. Pre John Wick Keanu still knew how to kick a lot of ass.

Awesome Movie Shootout Scene Appreciation Post – The Matrix ‘Lobby’ Scene
Thursday, November 8th, 2018The Q – ‘How To Make A Highly Detailed Cardboard Gun’
Wednesday, November 7th, 2018YouTube channel ‘The Q‘ posted this video detailing the construction and function of a battery-powered cardboard LMG that is seemingly modeled from an M249 Para. Sure, the projectiles don’t have that much power behind them, but overall, it’s a pretty impressive project.
jimmydiresta – Zombie Apocalypse Weapon
Sunday, October 28th, 2018YouTuber, general ‘maker of things’, and amateur blacksmith jimmydiresta made an entry into the 2018 Zombie Apocalpyse Weapon challenge by another YouTube channel, Dirty Smith. It’s not exactly practical, but it is neat, and it does follow the rules of the contest; namely, something on the entry has to be forged.
Cold Pursuit Trailer
Friday, October 26th, 2018First you think it’s going to be the standard ‘Liam Neeson is a badass and kills a lot of people’ plot, then the trailer gets a bit funny, although Liam Neeson is still playing a badass that kills a lot of people.
Cold Pursuit will be in Theaters February 8, 2019
Fallout: New California Narrative Trailer
Saturday, October 20th, 2018If you’re starved for a new Fallout experience, aren’t really feeling the direction Bethesda is taking with Fallout: 76, and don’t mind booting up New Vegas on the PC, you might find interest in the upcoming Fallout: New California. In development in various forms for roughly 7 years, Fallout: New California is a fan-made mod for New Vegas which takes place 20 years before the events of said game, and 10 years before the events of Fallout 3. Practically an entire game all itself, New California is slated to have “at least 48 quests”, just under 17000 voiced lines, new weapons and armor, and two unique radio stations, with a single run from start to finish projected to take 8-30 hours, not counting the replayability of going through different quest routes.
Simply put, this is a pretty huge undertaking for a mod. And, it’ll be completely free-to-download this coming October 23rd.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops III – This Is Blackout Trailer
Sunday, October 14th, 2018It’s kind of easy to forget that this year’s CoD title is already out, since Activision usually shoots for a November release. It still kind of stings that Treyarch decided to omit a single player campaign for this year’s release, but to their credit, the ‘Battle Royale’-inspired Blackout mode has been getting good buzz. Plus, they might as well strike while the PUBG/Fortnite iron is still lukewarm.
The Slow Mo Guys – 2mm Pin Fire Gun In Slow Motion
Saturday, October 13th, 2018YouTube channel The Slow Mo Guys demonstrate the firing of a 2mm Pin Fire pistol in extremely slow motion using a Phantom v2640 camera. If anything can be gleamed from this video, it’s that LEGO Minifigs are surprisingly durable, even if the round fired isn’t particularly powerful.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Official Gameplay Video Part 2
Thursday, October 4th, 2018Only 3 more weeks.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches October 26th, 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One.
Captive State Trailer
Monday, September 17th, 2018Extraterrestrials take over and make everything “better”, but at what cost? It’s not a new concept (X-COM, Colony, Half-Life 2), but it could be good. It is directed by the guy that did ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’, and that was actually a pretty decent film for a reboot franchise.
Captive State will be in theaters March 2019.
Fallout 4: New Vegas – ‘Ain’t That a Kick In The Head’ First 10 Minutes Trailer
Sunday, September 16th, 2018Fallout: New Vegas is a very well-regarded action RPG and is arguably the best of the 3D Bethesda-published Fallout titles yet released. Unfortunately, due to its age it’s a bit clunky from a “modern” gameplay perspective, and because of its incredibly short development cycle lending to sub-optimal performance, it can be a bit of a chore to run stably on a “modern” computer. However, a team of dedicated modders are currently working on a mod which consists of New Vegas, built completely from the ground up to run on Fallout 4. This mod will include completely redone voice work (for legal reasons) and even features the legacy SPECIAL and Skill systems from the older Fallout titles, instead of the leveling system seen in Fallout 4.
There’s currently no word on a release date, but it’s sure to be worth the wait.
SPARTAN117GW – Travis Haley Plays Airsoft
Tuesday, September 11th, 2018Greg Wong AKA SPARTAN117GW posted some POV footage of a recent airsoft game he played with Travis Haley and his son. You kinda have to feel bad about those kids who are going up against an actual Force Recon Marine, but it looks like a fun time was had by all.
Major thanks to Greg for the tip! You can check out more of his videos via the SPARTAN117GW YouTube channel.
Official Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – Blackout Battle Royale Trailer
Friday, September 7th, 2018Here’s a trailer for Black Ops 4’s Blackout, the Battle Royale mode that will be featured in the game instead of the typical story mode. Featuring legacy characters like Woods and zombies integration is kinda neat, though.
45Snipers – How A Glock 43 Works
Sunday, September 2nd, 2018If you’ve ever wondered how the internals in a Glock 43 work during the loading and firing operations, then check out this video by YouTube channel 45Snipers. This animation also applies to virtually every production Glock currently available, although there are some slight differences in the internal components of the G42/G43 when compared to a majority of Glock models.
Cyberpunk 2077 48 Minute Gameplay Reveal (NSFW)
Wednesday, August 29th, 2018The long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 from noted Polish game developer CD Projekt Red now has a lengthy 48 minute gameplay demo to check out. If you like dystopian settings with lots of violent shootouts, powerful megacorps, and cybernetics that blur the line between machine and man, then you might want to put this game on your watch list. Quick warning: there’s nudity and colorful language, so I’m going to call this one NSFW.
Throwback: Meet Boba Fett: Initial 1978 Boba Fett Costume Screentest
Sunday, August 19th, 2018Disney has been less than stellar with their treatment of the Star Wars property, however at least we still have the classics. And what’s more classic than everyone’s favorite bounty hunter who did next to nothing: Boba Fett. Above is a screentest of the original Boba Fett white costume, as he was depicted in the original Ralph McQuarrie concept art. This was footage that was revealed to George Lucas and company in 1978.
Door Kickers: Action Squad
Saturday, August 11th, 2018Featuring the tag line Realistic Ridiculous Police Tactics, Door Kickers: Action Squad is a co-op focused sidescrolling shooter that’s a bit slower-paced and deliberate than your traditional run-n-gun affair, but still faster-paced and less serious that the original Door Kickers, which is a real-time strategy game where you direct a SWAT team through hostage rescue missions.
Action Squad features four playable characters, non-linear levels, and over 20 weapons and gear items. As previously mentioned, the game is co-op focused, and is seemingly balanced around two players, either via local or network multiplayer. Single player is an option, but the trailer overtly mocks the mode, so make of that as you will.
The game is in Early Access, which means that although it’s up for sale, it’s also still in development, so features and gameplay is bound to change as time goes on. You can purchase Door Kickers: Action Squad at the link below:

DOOM: Eternal – Official Gameplay Reveal
Friday, August 10th, 2018DOOM: Eternal, the sequel to the excellent DOOM 2016, was initially teased at this year’s E3, but today at Quakecon, id revealed actual gameplay. In essence, the gameplay shown so far looks like all the best aspects of the first DOOM, with some improved focus on player maneuverability and level verticality, and of course new weapons and enemies. The actual gameplay starts at 4:37, if you want to skip ahead.
The Doom Slayer himself also got a bit of an update, rocking a Predator-esque shoulder cannon, which fires sub-weapons like grenades and a flamethrower, and an arm blade for quick melee strikes; this blade also sees overt use in the returning ‘Glory Kill’ system.
It’s still too early to see whether Eternal will hold up to the first game in the reboot series, but the footage is very promising, and the devs seem to know what kind of game they should be going for: rip and tear, first and foremost.
DOOM: Eternal is slated for an undisclosed 2019 release.
Big Trouble in Little China Vinyl Soundtrack
Tuesday, July 31st, 2018Tomorrow at Noon (Central Time), Mondo Tees will be releasing a newly-pressed Vinyl of the ‘Big Trouble in Little China’ soundtrack. This is the first time in over 30 years that this album will be available on vinyl, and if it’s anything like the other Carpenter score releases from Mondo (or, generally, most of their pressings), it’ll be gone in a flash.
If you haven’t seen ‘Big Trouble’, it defies genre a bit, but in essence it’s a movie about a bumbling, would-be Western Action Movie Hero ending up as a sidekick in a Eastern martial arts movie with a healthy dose of mysticism, and the humor of seeing him out of his element.
Winchester Life – The Gould Brothers Show Off Shooting Skills with Winchester
Sunday, July 29th, 2018SHAZAM! Official Trailer
Saturday, July 21st, 2018SDCC 2018 is currently ongoing, so we’re getting all the new movie and television show announcements. One of the standouts is the new SHAZAM! trailer, which actually looks like a fun comic movie, instead of the edgy grittiness of the Zack Snyder-developed DC Extended Universe films.
UNCHARTED – Live Action Fan Film
Friday, July 20th, 2018Director Allan Ungar created this fan film based on game developer Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series. Staring Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake, it does a good job of emulating the tone and humor of the games, while also featuring an action sequence reminiscent of the third person gameplay.

Magpul – Rifleman Loop Sling
Tuesday, July 10th, 2018Posting more for the video than the product, but it does look like a pretty good sling.
The new Magpul Rifleman Loop Sling: Combining the best features of Rhodesian and 1907 match-style slings, the RLS was created with Magpul’s famous proprietary nylon mesh webbing and high-strength polymer hardware all for $19.95.
Soda Can AR Lower Receiver
Friday, July 6th, 2018Machining an 80% AR receiver can be a fairly involved process, depending on your own availability of tools and machining experience. YouTuber GunCraft101 took making an AR lower more than a bit further, and sand cast and machined his own receiver, in the process using over 200 aluminum beverage cans. Noting that aluminum cans are typically a blend of magnesium and aluminum, with other trace metals, various industrial chemicals and additives, and a different grade of aluminum than those used for typical AR receivers, this is best observed as a curiosity rather than emulated. All the same, it really shows that a bit of technical know how, experimentation, and effort can combine to form some pretty cool results.
