Camo Bolt Action Pen

Monday, July 16th, 2012

It’s the ultimate firearm-inspired writing implement! The pen releases and retracts via bolt action, a rifle pocket clip holds the pen, and the piece itself is modeled after a .30 caliber cartridge with a rose gold bullet tip. Add in the camouflage body, and you’ve got a pretty cool looking (if pricy) pen.

CamoVision goes Kloak

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

JerryJack Outdoors has licensed Kloak Konsealment pattern camo for its “CamoVision” eyewear.

“With CamoVision adopting our KLOAK line of cryptic camouflage in its state-of-the-art eyewear, hunters can get closer than ever to total concealment when in the field,” said Steve Regan, President and CEO of Genesis Pattern Technologies. “Once again, the fact that CamoVision chose KLOAK for its unique technology is very exciting to Genesis.” (Kloak cammie patterns are based on mimicry patterning and ‘cryptic’ colorations found in the natural world. (Some of you may remember Kloak from SHOT.)

CamoVision uses a bonding pattern to add a camouflage pattern to the lenses. This makes you look cool and has the additional benefit (if looking cool isn’t enough for you) of masking your eye movement from whatever you’re hunting.

Not zombies, it should be noted. Zombies don’t respond to typical predator-prey dynamics, and won’t care about your eyes.  Or hippies. They will be too stoned to care.

Lenses are impact resistant polycarbonate UV on nylon frames. They plan on having multiple patterns on styles for for men, women and children.

For more information, check out CamoVision; for more about Kloak, check their website.

Epic Everywhere Camouflage Pattern

Sunday, April 1st, 2012

Better Camo has released a new pattern of camouflage that is guaranteed to replace all of their previous patterns; in fact, it will probably replace everyone else’s camouflage. They say it’s ‘one new pattern to rule them all.’ (Not sure if it will find them or in the darkness bind them.) The ECP Everywhere Camouflage Pattern is guaranteed to work everywhere. There will be no need for multiple cammie patterns in gear and uniforms henceforth, no matter what the operational environment.

Rumor has it USSOCOM, JSOC and Ninja Force 17 are all looking at this pattern. One thing is for sure; we have never had a camo pattern like this available before.

We will soon be publishing T&E results by Magnum Tuggs and Airborne Willie. Stand by.

Assaulter Ghillie Pieces from Tactical Concealment

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

You may have already read that Tactical Concealment built the ghillie suits used in Act of Valor (see Tactical Concealment on SSD). They are very well known in shooter circles for the quality of their kit. That isn’t hype or bs, I’ve talked to several guys who use nothing else. Tactical Concealment essentially builds various “signature management” foundations for various uses, from full-blown ghillie suits to hoods and chaps and everything else. A recent offering from TC addresses those who require more limited signature management. It’s designed for use folks who require some outline work but don’t want to wear the entire thing (like assaulters, as mentioned, or members of LE tracking teams, or perhaps LE K9 units in a rural area…or even just MilSim shooters who want to get close to their target).

The piece in question is the Tactical Concealment Viper. It comes in two forms, standard and “Mosquito”. The latter is built of a new material that substantially decreases weight (you can, in fact, put it in a BDU pocket).

Note: you’re going to pay for this. It’s high end stuff meticulously made for guys and girls on the sharp end by a very small staff. If you’re looking for something less expensive, no worries, but this won’t be it. You get what you pay for. I have some Tactical Concealment gear and believe me, it’s solid and built to last. Go like ’em or friend ’em or whatever you call it on Facebook, right now, and tell ’em TANSTAAFL of Tactical Fanboy sent ya. You won’t get anything for doing so, but it will make me look good.

From the website:

“Whether you’re an assaulter or sniper the benefit of suppressing your visual presence to the enemy is extremely important. Tactical Concealment’s Viper is a new high-speed garment designed not just for snipers but for any operator who can benefit from having a tactical edge edge toward visual based camouflage/concealment. Specific to this type of operator is that the Viper is designed to be worn in conjunction and work in unison with combat loadout equipment including tactical vests, armored plate carriers, assault vests and any size backpack. Any tactical operator can now achieve the camouflage/concealment effectiveness of a sniper and his ghillie suit but scaled into a package that is practical and suited toward the working needs and working requirements of an assaulter…”

Nick Wooster + Leffot = Woodland Camo Shoes

Monday, February 27th, 2012

A collaborative effort between Nick Wooster and Leffot has led to these woodland camo shoes. They’ll debut in September of this year, priced at $750 for the Brogue Cap Toe, and $695 for the wingtip. Pairs can currently be reserved with a 20% deposit. The materials are nice, but you’re definitely paying for the name with these shoes.

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Japanese fashion label Sophnet has developed two pieces of Camouflage knitwear as part of their Spring/Summer 2012 line. SHOT Show 2012: Hot Leaf Camo

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Hot Leaf Camo was at SHOT showing off stylish women’s hunting cam they say is the “hottest thing to happen to hunting since women”! They’re trying to garner enough support to get their camo into stores.  They don’t actually have a product you can buy yet, they’re looking for women who do hunt and might want a “cute & stylish” but functionally effective camouflage to get behind ’em and help make that happen.

Anyway, Wilderness Dreams sells lingerie, nightwear, and swimwear in three camouflage colors: Pink, Snow, and Mossy Oak Break Up. Seen above is the Baby Doll Set in Pink. They also have a smaller line, only three items so far, of menswear in Mossy Oak Break Up.

UES Camouflage-Printed Leather Sneakers

These Woodland-esque camouflage-printed sneakers by Upper Echelon Shoes feature a side zip, rubber sole, and padded insole. They also feature ‘gold’ chains that lay over the laces, which, depending on taste, may be a positive. If not, then a good pair of wire cutters would remedy that design choice real quick.

Available for purchase here.
