The shirt itself is pretty simple: it’s a blue cotton tee with ‘A Stanley Kubrick Production’ printed on the front. This particular bit of minimalist fashion was developed by Mondo in association with Alamo Drafthouse and Warner Bros., in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of author Anthony Burgess and the original release date the ‘A Clockwork Orange’, the film based on the Burgess’ same titled book; in-arguably his most popular publication, and arguably Kubrick’s finest film.
To further tie in the shirt to the film, the print mimics the design and font of the same text as seen in the ‘A Clockwork Orange’ opening credits.
John Platt has served for three decades as a Unit Stills Photographer in the film industry, and has put his talent on display with the ‘Before The Dirt’ collection, a photographic collection of the vehicles of Mad Max: Fury Road. Many of the 150 unique vehicles made for the movie are featured in the collection, including Max’s iconic Interceptor.
Fox released this official prologue for the upcoming ‘Alien: Covenant’, which not only established the rapport of the Covenant team, but also serves as a nice nod to the original Chestburster scene from Alien.
After a failed assassination attempt, a soldier finds himself stranded in the desert. Exposed to the elements, he must survive the dangers of the desert and battle the psychological and physical toll of the treacherous conditions.
It’s kinda like 127 hours, but with more shooting, and more dust storms.
Super Hero movies have become the norm, with Marvel’s meticulous planning of their shared universe films culminating in the eventual release of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. To hype up the film, Marvel released this behind-the-scenes teaser on what’s to come.
Kinda wish Justice League has this level of forethought.
We continue the series of John Wick related posts with this video from 5.11 Tactical showing off some of the training Taran Tactical did with Keanu Reeves to prepare him for his role as the titular character in John Wick Chapter 2.
In a world with very few mutants left, Old Man Logan and Older Man Prof. X must escort X-23, a female clone of Wolvie and who’s creation was totally hinted at in the post-credits scene from X-Men: Apocalypse, to safety from very bad men.
This commercial from Chevy depicts LEGO Batman’s Batmobile as a vehicle under their lineup, a parody of their recent string of (annoying) focus group commercials.
If I had $48 million lying around, and this was real, I’d buy one.
Roger Corman’s Death Race 2050 is another re-imagining of the classic Death Race 2000 which starred David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone, but it’s much more true to the original than the other recent Death Race films.
Work warning: this trailer does contain some coarse language, nudity, and graphic violence, just as a Death Race film should.
Death Race 2050 drops January 17th direct to home video.
YouTube channel Looper goes over the various scenes from the recently-released Rogue One that appeared in the trailer, but were missing from the theatrical release due to the reported reshoot.
If you’re a Gentle Giant Premier Guild member (which amounts to an $80/yr fee), then you can purchase one of these Death Trooper Specialist Classic Mini Busts. Made of hand-painted polyresin, this 1:6 scale bust depicts the Imperial Intelligence elite unit Death Trooper. More than anything else, though, I appreciate that the Death Trooper is wearing what appears to be some kind of chest rig.
I like multitools. I like Star Wars. Still, this feels like a line that just didn’t need to be crossed; two things that honestly had no logic to be combined. I’m talking about ThinkGeek’s officially-licensed Millennium Falcon Multi-Tool kit. Shaped like everyone’s favorite smuggler’s ship, this particular multitool comes complete with four hex keys, two screwdrivers, and an adjustable wrench.
If they’ll make the Millennium Falcon into a multitool, when’s ‘Star Wars’ the flamethrower?
Anovos, known for their extremely high-quality licensed costumes and props, is releasing a replica Death Trooper helmet based on the upcoming Rogue One film. The helmet, digitally scanned from the actual movie props, is made of fiberglass, with a fully lined interior.
If you have $615 lying around, you can pre-order the helmet at the link below:
The Planet of the Apes franchise is one of my favorites, and the first two reboot films have been pretty decent so far, so hopefully this one follows suit.
Columbia and Disney have partnered up to produce a line of officially licensed Rogue One: A Star Wars Story apparel. The three pieces, Women’s Jyn Erso Rebel Jacket, Men’s Captain Cassian Andor Rebel Parka, and Men’s Imperial Death Trooper Jacket, will be officially available starting 12/9/16 at select Columbia store locations, as well as for online purchase.
In my opinion, the Jyn Erso jacket is actually the coolest looking piece of the three. It actually looks like authentic Star Wars garb. The Death Trooper jacket is pretty overt in its design, but looks like a decent outer layer, even though you might have to be a pretty big Star Wars fan to wear it on the regular. As for the parka? Well, it really reminds me of the Hoth parka from Empire, which makes it pretty neat.
This pic was sent over to me by SSD’s Admin, so I don’t know the origin. What I can say is, based on it being a pic of “Batou’s Shotgun”, it’s obviously a prop from the upcoming (and quite honestly craptastic-looking) Ghost in the Shell movie. It also happens to be a duded up Crye Precision Six12 rotary drum bullpup 12 gauge shotgun, which to be fair is a pretty futuristic-looking piece.
DC’s Cinematic Universe, or whatever they’re calling it instead to differentiate themselves from Marvel, has been kinda… not great. So, the question is if Wonder Woman will be the first truly good DC movie, or another critical flop.
I’ve stopped trusting trailers a while ago; they’ve got the technical devilry that made Suicide Squad look appealing, after all.
In some set photos up the upcoming blockbuster remake of Jumanji starring the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Mr. The Rock was seen rocking a pair of Kitanica’s All Season Pants.
