The story of how the Death Star plans were obtained has been told numerous different ways in the old expanded universe content, but now it’s Disney’s turn to tell the tale, and this time it’s official.
Rogue One drops December 16th.

Now we’ve got some footage to go along with the teaser poster.
That 3-gun training is really paying off for Keanu.
A 60’s Batman animation, complete with Adam West and Burt Ward reprising their roles as Batman and Robin, respectively. Genius!
You may have went to the theater to watch the new movie, “Suicide Squad”. Although it’s not prominently featured in the movie, you may have noticed an interesting camouflage pattern worn by the SEALs. Referred to as Bravoflauge, it was reportedly created by combining four different existing patterns.
According to SSD (and TFB) friend Spartan117GW, Vance and Brown may be introducing a cap on the pattern soon.
For those who don’t know, San Diego Comic-Con 2016 ended today, and with SDCC comes a lot of comic, gaming, and movie news. And with movie news, comes movie trailers, including this one for the upcoming Justice League movie.
The trailer already seems to portray a slightly more lighthearted feel than Batman v Superman, which is a bit jarring compared to the later film, but it looks like it could be pretty fun.
Think Geek continues with their unique branded items with this Chewbacca beer cozy; they call it a can cooler, but it’s all the same. Regardless of your beverage choice, the Chewbacca cozy is sized for standard 12 oz cans, and features a rubber interior with a polyester exterior.
I actually liked Batman v Superman, despite some narrative flaws and a bit of weird editing; mostly I liked the action scenes, which were easily the best part of the film. Anyway, the Ultimate Edition is longer, R-rated, and is supposed to fix a bit of the pacing of the film, introducing scenes cut from the theatrical release which, at least a few of, are already in the trailer. I’m looking forward to it.

I really love practical effects in movies.
John Carpenter will soon be going on a worldwide tour with his band, playing some of his most memorable compositions from movies such as ‘Escape from New York’ and ‘The Fog’, as well as entirely new pieces. Sacred Bones Records released this video of a studio session of a new rendition of the ‘Escape from New York’ theme, which sounds pretty damn great. A link to tickets for the tour can be found below:

Sacred Bones is also releasing Halloween b/w Escape from New York AND Assault on Precinct 13 b/w The Fog on 12″ vinyl, as well as all four pieces on iTunes. Note that these are currently pre-orders.

Anovos is a company that deals in high-quality, licensed props from popular science-fiction properties, such as Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars. This time, they’re offering a movie-accurate Proton Pack Kit from the original Ghostbusters movies. The kit is constructed of fiberglass, metal, polyurethane, PVC, and ABS plastic, and comes complete with vinyl decal set and working toggle switches and buttons. It doesn’t come with the glues, paint, and tools necessary to construct it, nor the frame and straps, the later of which is to be sold separately.
Also, they’ll be offering an optional light and sound electronics package with movie sound effects at a later date.

While Episode 6 proves that Stormtroopers are incapable of hitting an Ewok at any range, I still felt the above target, sent in as a tip from admin over at Soldier Systems Daily, was worth a post. However, it would be remiss of me not to try and figure out where it came from, since that info wasn’t provided. Luckily, a quick Google image search revealed that this, and other targets, are likely the work of Deviant Art user ‘theCrow65’, who didn’t just stop at Ewoks, but has an entire line of Stormtrooper targets, including Han, Leia, Tusken Raiders, and my personal favorite:

In my opinion, Deadpool is probably the very best comic-to-movie transition yet released, and there has been some really good ones both before and currently with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a very hard ‘R’, but if that doesn’t bother you, it’s virtually a must-see.
Batfleck is kicking all kinds of ass in this trailer. I’m actually finally excited to see BvS when it comes out later this year.
Of the two Marvel property movie trailers that aired during last night’s Super Bowl, which one was better?
SHOT Show coverage will continue as expected, but since the new Suicide Squad trailer had to come out this week, I’m throwing it up before the show starts today. Honestly, this trailer makes the movie looks like solid fun.
As you might guess by the name, 10 Cloverfield Lane is the second movie in the Cloverfield franchise. With few details available, and the trailer not revealing much besides an underground bunker and a pissed-off, controlling, and possibly cabin feverish John Goodman (and two others), the question is:
Is this a direct sequel to Cloverfield, complete with giant monster(s), or a spiritual sequel with a similar premise?
We’ll have to wait until March 11th to find out.
It’s a trailer, so it’s meant to entice. Regardless, it looks like Fox is giving the Merc with a Mouth a much more comics-accurate portrayal than in Wolverine: Origins. Hopefully, when Deadpool comes out in February, it won’t suck.
Yeah, I kinda felt the same way. However, according to Simon Pegg, who co-wrote the film, the trailer isn’t really a good indicator of the tone of the film. I can buy that.
Die Klapperschlange or ‘The Rattlesnake’ is the alternative title for the German release of the 1981 John Carpenter classic ‘Escape from New York’, one of my favorite films of all time. I didn’t decide to post this poster for the trivia, but to bring attention to that rather unique rifle that Snake doesn’t get to use in the film proper (his primary arm in the film, for what it’s worth, is a suppressed MAC 10 outfitted with a rifle scope). It’s a bit difficult to determine exactly what model the rifle is, although if I had to guess it looks like some kind of AR variant with a unique pistol grip and a removed hand guard.
If anybody had more of a clue what it could be feel free to let me know in the comments section.
Predictably, they’re making a sequel to that Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot/remake/whatever. At least the original April from the 80s movies is going to be in it.

This short film by Federico Heller takes place in a grim future where Virtual Reality gaming isn’t quite what it seems.
