One of the more interesting aspects of WWII PSYOPs you’re not likely to learn in school is the use of pornographic materials against the enemy. Thousands of leaflets featuring sexual content were used by both sides with the intent to demoralize the enemy. Despite their purpose, the leaflets apparently weren’t very effective; soldiers mostly used them for toilet paper. It’s also worth mentioning that they only accounted for about 1% of the total amount of propaganda leaflets. Still, I can respect a novel idea when I see it.

I’m about halfway through this site and I wanted to check back in and say thanks for the link and heads up. This really is an interesting topic and a good look at the mindset of the 1940s. Not just the military side but from a professional clinical aspect as well.
