Tactical Fanboy, on behalf of SolSys Group and freedom and hot-chick loving Coalition Gunfighters everywhere, is proud to announce it has added another writer to the staff of the TFB eee-light team of doorkickin’ bloggers. We are happy to introduce Willie Airborne. Willie comes highly recommend by both RE Factor Tactical, who was kind enough to refer him to us, by Brian Montgomery of WT Tactical and Magnum Tuggs (who apparently served with him in some of the most dangerous swamps within a half an hour of Galliano, LA; sources indicate they went through some “real serious shit” together). Willie is a highly decorated combat veteran, a graduate of several advanced Ho-Tac courses and . He will be writing beginning sometime in April, if his male modeling gig with Brian is wrapped up in time. Please extend Willie Airborne a warm Tactical Fanboy welcome.
“God loves the infantry and God loves Airborne Willie.”

If he’s got all those Army ribbons (one of which looks like the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon), why the hell does he have a Marine Corps Marksmanship Badge on ? and what’s up with that AAM he has (the one just under his ‘Airborne’ tape)? IS this really ‘Airborne Willie’ or just a meme ?
That guy looks like he came straight off the set of The Walking Dead.
I say welcome Willy, welcome indeed. I, for one, cannot wait to hear about your experiences and drink from your spring of knowledge.
If this is for real – congrats! If not- well, it’s almost April 1st!
and, best of all, he’s an O’Bama supporter.
Apparently he’s either a mental or an eccentric, and he is apparently an Obama for true…though the credence you give that should be filtered by the fact that he’s not quite right in the head.

Thanks TANSTAAFL for the links
So…. is this one of those guys that people just tolerate at these events, or do they not know any better?
Looks like we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Willy for his service… or he owes a huge debt to the military star card for PX purchases.
I love the way he has all those ribbons and medals and other assorted insignia on, but only SFC rank… You know, so people won’t think he’s BSing them.
[…] first time I saw Airborne Willy was on the Tactical Fanboy site. It was a funny post of an older black gentleman wearing a cowboy […]

The guy behind the This Ain’t Hell website did some research and was able to get Airborne Willie’s (real name Charlie W. Williams) service records.
It seem he first joined the Army in 1949, served during four campaigns in Korea and stayed in until January 1958 when he had a break in service until November of 1959. He was in the Dominican Republic in the US intervention there in 1965. He then served for two years with the 173d Airborne Brigade in Vietnam for seven campaigns from early 1968 to early 1970. He retired as a Sergeant First Class around 1971 after about 21 years of service.
As for awards, he received three Bronze Star Medals, one Purple Heart, one Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), the Korean Service Medal (4 campaign stars), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (7 campaign stars), the United National Service Medal, the Korean War Service Medal (Korea), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that he also received two awards of the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Master Parachutist Badge.
Yes, Willie is wearing some stuff (okay, a lot of stuff) on his “uniform” that he is not entitled to but he’s done more for his country than most Americans ever have or ever will, so I will give him a pass.
Go Willie!
For those who want to do further research on Willie – here is the link to the This Ain’t Hell website that has a copy of Willie’s 2-1 which summarizes his service – http://thisainthell.us/blog/?p=5676
Looks like one guy on the net, requested and received willies records. All though, everything he is wearing, he didn’t earn, but he did have a decorated combat career.
I wouldn’t put willie in the same group. As ex CSM Crump.
