New ‘Pick 13’ system, armor abilities, and Create-An-Operator. Looks neat.
The NERF Zombie Strike Hammer Combat Kit consists of a NERF Hammer melee weapon and mask.
The Hammer features the apocalyptic ‘wear-n-tear’ look as the rest of the Zombie Strike line, such as appearing to having been made from cobbled together materials (bent pipe with wrapped wire grip combined with a brick strike head) and featuring markings and Zombie Strike branding. The mask is a bit more colorful, being made from foam with dual elastic retention bands.
Here’s one of our very own Amigos showing just how menacing this ‘combat kit’ can be. The shirt matching the mask was just a happy coincidence.

Inspired by the classic Trench Knives of the early 20th century, Cold Steel’s Chaos Tanto features a “D” ring guard made from reinforced 6061 aluminum, offering a comfortable and secure grip while protecting the hand from attack and damage while striking or cutting. The blade itself is 7.5″ of SK-5 high carbon steel, coated in black Tuff-Ex for corrosion resistance and reduced friction. The CamelBak Hydration Calculator is an interactive application on the CamelBak website that determines how much water you might require during an activity. By inputting your weight, age, gender, color of urine, how much you sweat, outside weather and temperature, along with your chosen activity, time, and intensity, the calculator will give you a rough measurement on how much water you should consume per hour. It’s not the most in-depth calculator, but for a complementary tool it’s pretty good.

Knott’s Scary Farm, Knott’s Berry Farm’s yearly Halloween event, is hosting a special event this year called Special Ops: Infected. Taking place at the Camp Snoopy grounds, ‘squads’ of park guests are armed with special laser guns and are tasked with eliminating zombies while undertaking various missions, such as fending off militia members and locating a mad scientist with the cure to the zombie plague. The event is reportedly open to all park guest at no additional cost, although slots are limited each night.
The Danger Ranger Bear app by Prometheus Design Werx “…shares the how to’s, what’s, why’s, do’s and don’ts for your next outdoor adventure.” It offers constantly updating outdoors tips such as recipes for outdoor meals, how to read a topographic map, bushcraft, and gear maintenance, as well as gear reviews and campfire tales.
