I got one. For what I paid for it I am pretty satisfied. Pick one up and hold it in your hand. If it feels good to you and they want less than $480 for it, jump on it.
I felt one at my local gun store, and it feels great in the hand, plus it had a great trigger. That being said, I then noticed the the key lock on the slide, a chamber load indicator, and the mag disconnect. For me personally, that kills the deal.
Now if they had a model that was de-lawyer’ed I’d be interested in it.
I suspect that the key lock, chamber load indicator, and mag disconnect are features to make the gun CA &/or NY legal, I know that one of the requirements here in CA to make it to the approved list is a chamber load indicator. Bersa probably added all of those so they only have to produce one version that can be sold in all 50 states instead of producing different versions to be sold in more restrictive states. Can’t say that I’d blame them if that’s the case, it’s the most logical thing for them to do if they want to be able to sell their gun(s) to all 50 states, having said that I do wish that states like CA didn’t have all sorts of stupid & restrictive laws regarding guns and, sadly, I don’t see CA pulling its head out of its rectal cavity any time soon.
