Spartan Imports Advises SCARs are in Stock

Monday, October 24th, 2011
Spartan Imports is advising us that VGC Licensed FN SCAR AEGs are now in stock. They’ve been around for a long time and not only have their fingers on the pulse of what goes on in the airsoft world, they are strong supporters and proponents of airsoft use in military and LE training. (We know this because one of your humble team of TFB fightin’ bloggers actually spent a very long week training with a couple of the Spartan boys and a number of LE/military personnel at a tactical school in Kansas City a couple years back).  Anyway, see below for the latest update from them.

Airsoft Extreme Max AEGs

Friday, October 21st, 2011

Airsoft Extreme has put together a couple of their “AE Max AEGs” using Classic Army AR001 M-Xs and a number of different Magpul MOE parts…like a kit bash in 1/1 scale for MilSim. Check ’em out, if you’re into that stuff. Some of you eeee-light team of tactical bloggers here didn’t used to be, until we attended an extremely arduous SWAT school and saw what an excellent training tool they can be. That put an end to the close-minded mockery of MilSim “wannabes” (well, most of it…sometimes it’s just too tempting not to make fun of the guys who take themselves too seriously).  It was just a short jump from there to doing it recreationally.

Watch for more MilSim news next week…we’ve got some awesome footage of a MilSim Event operation in Oklahoma that involved a beach landing, a whole island in the middle of a lake and a bunch of prior service shooters teaching tactics. Good stuff.

King Arms Colt M4 MOE

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

The King Arms Colt M4 MOE is an officially licensed Colt AEG airsoft rifle outfitted with authentic Magpul PTS accessories. It features a full metal barrel and internals including the full-metal gearbox with 7mm bearings and a high-torque motor. For those interested in exactly which Magpul parts are included, they are a MBUS flip-up rear sight, MOE hand guard, MOE pistol grip, MOE stock and a 360-round magazine modeled after the PMAG. At 7 lbs., it’s around the same weight as a real steel M4 which makes it great for training. Two models were released, one with black and one with tan accessories.

G&P – Stoner U.S. Navy MK23 LMG

Sunday, August 14th, 2011

Manufactured by G&P, the Stoner U.S. Navy MK23 LMG is an airsoft replica of the Stoner 63 adopted by the U.S. Navy SEALs during Vietnam. Quality wise, this is one impressive piece, with the body, outer barrel, heat shield, sights, magazine cage and trigger made of metal; the furniture is polymer. The internals are based on a Version 2 gearbox with 8mm bearings run by a G&P M120 High Speed motor. The gun features a 1200 round box magazine powered by a 9 volt battery, with an auto wind switch integrated with the trigger. Due to the gun’s inclusion in the CoD: Black Ops armory, and it being an alternative to airsoft M60s for use in Vietnam scenarios, I’m sure this’ll sell pretty well among enthusiasts.

Master Blaster (Slow Mo Paintball SHOTGUN)

Saturday, July 16th, 2011

This video by Youtuber ‘CorridorDigital‘ shows the almighty power of a potato cannon that shoots paintballs, in slow-motion, courtesy of a high-speed camera. That disarm move near the end was pretty slick, too.

The AK74 Tactical EBB (Electric Blowback) by Javelin Airsoft Works features a full metal body, railed upper and lower handguard, adjustable battery storage stock with rail, and a folding vertical grip. Magpul PTS Masada ACR Mistake

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

In my previous article WOLF’s Den, I claimed in the description that the Magpul PTS Masada ACR was made by ARES Airsoft, drawing this information from the video itself. In the comments section, however, Spartan Imports was kind enough to point an error in this, stating that Magpul PTS fully manufactures this particular airsoft rifle, and ARES Airsoft does not. In addition, Magpul PTS does not want association with ARES Airsoft. This particular bit of misinformation is widely spread, and I thank Spartan Imports for the correction.

If you are interested in purchasing a Magpul PTS Masada ACR you can find a dealer on spartanimports.com where you’ll also find a variety of other airsoft weaponry and accessories.

Youtube user drewolf has a series of videos dealing with the airsoft and paintball industry. This particular video shows how to use MOLLE, the Magpul PTS Masada ACR made by ARES Airsoft, and a photo shoot of Full Clip products.

North Atlantic Airsoft Expo

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

It’s almost time for the second annual North Atlantic Airsoft Expo. Located in High Point, North Carolina, it will be held from March 4-6. The event will include appearances from airsoft manufacturers, retailers, event coordinators, state organizations, and organized teams. There will also be symposiums on airsoft training for both law enforcement and home defense. Airsoft is becoming increasingly popular, for both training and entertainment, so this is definitely an expo worth attending.

All related information about the NAAE, including ticket purchases, can be found on naaexpo.com

Time Freeze Shootout

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Yet another video by ‘freddiew’ that seems to be somewhat of a sequel to his earlier Chrono Trigger vid. For a recap, he mostly uses special effects such as green screens and editing software along with airsoft weapons to achieve the desired results. It’s always cool to see what you can come up with using modern software.
