(I Can’t Belive It’s Not) MultiCam Monday – Army Commando Costume
Monday, November 10th, 2014For this (I Can’t Believe It’s Not) MultiCam Monday, we’re reposting an old classic from three years ago. Why is it always during Halloween that the MultiCam ripoffs come out of the woodwork?
Available at Target, the boy’s Army Command Costume consists of two pieces, the uniform and helmet. It’s made from 70% polyester and is available in small, medium and large sizes. My favorite aspect of this costume is the ‘Army’ tag; it’s a nice touch that lets other people know: “Yes, I am pretending to be an Army Commando this fine Halloween’s night. Candy, please!” There’s also something familiar about the camouflage that I can’t quite put my finger on…
(I Can’t Belive It’s Not) MultiCam Monday – Combat Military Hat
Monday, November 3rd, 2014This costume USMC Cover I found today on sale at a Halloween supply store features a camo pattern that is very reminiscent of Crye precision’s standard MultiCam. As expected from a costume piece, it features a few defects, however it’s a pretty decent piece especially for the five dollars I got it for.
5.11 Gun Camo Cap
Sunday, October 26th, 20145.11 Tactical came up with their own ‘gun camo’, which is a camouflage-inspired design that uses the silhouettes of more than a few popular and/or iconic firearms. This cap in particular, which features the pattern, is made from polyester fabric with a dobby mesh six panel design, adjustable fit, and integrated sweatband.
The 5.11 Gun Camo Cap seems to be the only product currently available on the official 5.11 Tactical website that uses the Gun Camo, however they’ve also done a line of beanies, also available in Brown and Grey, that are available from numerous online retailers.
MultiCam Mandalorian
Friday, October 3rd, 2014These images were sent to us by TFB reader Case Jumper via Facebook. They’re of a Mandalorian (that’s Boba Fett’s race for those not in the know) armor that’s been given the ole Crye treatment. Great stuff Case! You can see more on his Facebook profile page, linked above.

Maybe The Army Should Take A Look At MultiDoge
Sunday, September 7th, 2014Just in case that whole Scorpion thing with printers blows up in their face, I suggest PEO Soldier take a hard look at MultiDoge as a backup plan.

Under Armour – Men’s UA Mobtown Shoes
Sunday, August 10th, 2014Under Armour’s Mobtown basketball shoe features a slim athletic cut designed to offer better mobility by eliminating the bulk of extra fabric. The camouflage upper, called Dune (it’s not licensed MultiCam, but it’s certainly inspired by Crye’s pattern), is made from water-resistant canvas. The ultra-soft collar lining and full-length Micro G sockliner make up the inside of the shoe.
Also available with a Black full-grain leather upper.

Kryptek Is Now Doing The Dew
Monday, July 14th, 2014I was ‘out and about’ last night, and I happened to spot these ‘Limited Edition Kryptek Military Heroes Pack’ boxes of Mountain Dew. Reportedly, only the boxes get the camo, not the cans. You can pick these up anywhere they sell Mountain Dew.
The Real Masters Of Urban Camouflage? Disney
Tuesday, June 10th, 2014There’s been a big push recently for gray colored gear thanks to its ability to “blend” into the urban landscape. Well, as it turns out, Disney’s practically perfected this ideal in their own proprietary Go Away Green and No See-um Gray colors. They coat their utility and auxiliary buildings in their various parks with the colors so that the guests pass by the buildings without noticing them.
You can read more about it, and check out some photos, here: everythingwdisneyworld.com/2012/07/go-away-green-and-no-see-um-gray-at
