Cabela’s is releasing their new ColorPhase camo technology Fall of this year. Using rapid-change, temperature-activated dyes, ColorPhase is camo that’s green when it’s warm and brown when it’s cold. The change hits when external temperatures hit approximately 65°F, although factors such as body heat, sunlight, moisture, and wind can affect the process. It’ll be available in a limited number of garments in Cabela’s new Zonz Woodlands and Zonz Western patterns.

The Wilderness came up with the Wilderness Hunting Vest as a lighter, more versatile alternative to their Wilderness Hunting Shirt. Made from 50/50 NyCo MultiCam fabric, the vest features dual 5″x7″ flat chest pockets and dual 6″x7″ bellowed hip pockets, all with Velcro-closure flaps. For an additional fee, the vest can further be customized with 6 and 7-slot Velcro shotshell holders, a rear game bag, and 3x size extenders, allowing the vest to be open while still secured for better ventilation or fitting over bulky winter clothing (custom options seen above).

The mountain briefcase is a fabric bag designed to be carried one of three ways: traditional two handle briefcase style, as a backpack with stowable straps, or over the shoulder with a removable shoulder strap. The interior features a large main compartment, padded laptop sleeve with Velcro closure, pen slots, open top notebook pocket, and zippered storage pocket. The exterior features a zippered notebook pocket; the base has two cinch straps. The exterior fabric is 1000D Cordura, and is available in three colors, black, duck camo (seen above), and olive. Blank MMA is a website that offers MMA fight shorts in a variety of modern camouflages including MultiCam, A-TACS FG, ABU, ACU, MARPAT, and NWU, along with more generic patterns and solid colors. The shorts feature a heavy-duty stretch fabric with a bi-directional internal waistband with internal drawstring. At the time of writing, the shorts were on sale upwards of 55% off.
This video, shot at the Z.E.R.T. headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, details US Palm’s DTPC and the Italian CB62 camouflage pattern it uses. At the moment, kit in this pattern, which includes the aforementioned plate carrier, Draco backpack, and belt, is only available under contract for LE and Government agencies. If the title didn’t give it away, the language can get a bit salty at times.

European tactical clothing company HELIKON-TEX has announced that they plan to release their Combat Patrol Uniform, Combat Shirt, Combat Cap, Boonie Hat, and a parka design (to be released in the later half of 2013) in GreenZone, Badlands and Snowdrift versions of Penncott camouflage. The actual pieces won’t be shown until IWA & Outdoor Classics 2013 which is being held in Nuremberg, Germany March 8-11.

The MultiCam sheaths made by LBT for the SOG Voodoo Hawk LE have finally started shipping out. They’re made from nylon with a button snap closure and a belt loop. The LE sheath also better conforms to the blade when compared to the standard SOG sheath and seems of overall better quality. You can see additional photos below.

The Camo Shawl-Collar Cardigan is part of Ralph Lauren’s ‘Denim & Supply’ line. It’s crafted from a 70% acrylic, 30% wool blend and colored in a woodland-esque camouflage pattern. Other features include a five-button front, rib-knit cuffs and hem, and rib-knit welt pockets at the waist. Not my cup of tea, but I’m sure somebody out there finds it appealing (and doesn’t mind the $185 US price tag).
Ralph Lauren – Camo Shawl-Collar Cardigan
RAG Industries, a Japanese producer/retailer of airsoft gear, has just released their RAG03 “PenCott Uniform”. The uniforms are made from milspec, vat-printed, 50/50 NYCO ripstop PenCott camouflage fabric. The “PU” has an abundance of enhanced tactical features, including large bicep pockets, side-opening chest pockets and slanted cargo pockets on the legs. As of now a Japan-exclusive, they’re running for approximately 230 USD.

Digital Concealment Systems, creator of the A-TACS family of camouflage patterns have signed a deal with Activision that includes the use of said camo patterns, currently A-TACS AU and A-TACS FG, in the just-released-today Call of Duty: Black Ops II. A-TACS is present in Black Ops II in the form of “…a playable option and integrated throughout different levels of the epic game.” This is most apparent in its use as an in-game gun camouflage.
