The Resident Evil 2 remake is only two days away from launch, so Capcom released this trailer. The trailer does show off a fair bit of the game and plot, so be wary if you’re sensitive to spoilers.
Resident Evil 2 (remake) launches January 25th, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The first two games in the Metro series were really good, so I’m really excited to see if Exodus continues that trend. And, there’s not too much longer to wait! Metro: Exodus is releasing on February 15th, 2019.
343 Industries, which is the the arm of Microsoft that handles the Halo license, has partnered with Limbitless Solutions to produce Halo-themed, 3D-printed prosthetics. Limbitless Solutions is a non-profit that provides affordable prosthetic limbs for children. The Halo-themed prosthetics will be offered starting in 2019. The first being a recreation of the Master Chief’s Mjolnir Mk. VI armor. The second is a “multiplayer” variant of the Mjolnir, which can be customized with different color options, like the variant seen below.

This article was originally featured on Soldier Systems Daily. Honestly, it’s too fitting not to cross post.
Here’s another opportunity for Soldiers to excel. US Army Recruiting Command has established an ESPORTS team.
According to MG Frank Muth, commanding general for USAREC the idea is to connect with potential recruits stating, “If we are going to be successful in recruiting, then we need to be where young people are — and they are operating in the digital world. There are already thousands of current Soldiers who are competitive online gamers. Now we are giving them a chance to use their talents to help us relate to and connect with other young gamers. They will have the ability to start a dialogue about what it is like to serve in our Army and see if they are interested in joining.”
Soldiers selected to the team will be assigned to the Marketing and Engagement Brigade at Fort Knox for three years and will involve constant competitive training, recruiting engagements and interaction with the public on a daily basis but will not become recruiters.
The team is expected to begin competing on behalf of the U.S. Army by summer 2019
All active-duty and Army Reserve Soldiers are eligible to apply. Interested Soldiers should visit recruiting.army.mil/army_esports to learn how to compete for a spot on the team.
If you’re a fan of Fallout, and pricey, highly-detailed collectable figures, then you may want to give threezero’s X-01 Power Armor figure a look. Standing in at 14.5″ tall, the X-01 Power Armor figure features 35 points of articulation, a highly-detailed male head, X-01 helmet with light-up LED function, and an Assaultron Blade.
What’s really cool about this figure is the X-01 armor pieces can be complete removed, revealing an equally-detailed endoskeleton. Plus, the armor parts are swappable with all previous threezero Fallout Power Armor figures, so you can make your figure look like your Power Armor in-game, like when you only have three pieces of X-01 armor and have to fill in the empty slots with T-60 and T-51 parts. Not that I’m speaking from experience, or anything.
Honestly, I’m not completely familiar with Tripwire Interactive, or the game Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, but any game that lets you play as little green army men is alright in my book. Even better that it’s free content released for the holidays. The full release can be read below:
Tripwire Interactive Celebrates the Holidays with Free Christmas Themed Map and Seasonal Helmet for All Rising Storm 2: Vietnam Players

So this one’s a little weird, but as part of the latest batch of downloadable characters for the fighting game Tekken 7, they’ve put Negan from The Walking Dead tv series in as a character, and he’s actually being voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Thanks to the power of cross-promotion, you have a guy with a barbed wire-wrapped bat, fighting against oftentimes supernatural martial artists. And his guest stage is the trailer scene from the season six finale.
Black Mesa is a remake of the 1998 video game Half-Life, developed by a team of fans known as Crowbar Collective. Black Mesa is notable as not only is it a solid remake of what is considered one of the greatest video games of all time, but the project is actually sanctioned by original Half-Life developer Valve Corporation, so much that it was approved for sale on Valve’s digital distribution platform, Steam.
Despite an initial release in 2012, however, Black Mesa is still technically in development. The last portion of the game, the Xen borderworld, has been announced and pushed back a few times, since what was originally a December 2017 release date. But, with this new trailer, Crowbar Collective not only teases their own interpretation and expansion of Xen for Black Mesa, but also promises a second quarter 2019 release.
While that’s still some months away, it’s great to see something new(ish) related to Half-Life have a tangible release date.
Void Bastards is an upcoming “strategy shooter” developed by former Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios employees, the devs behind BioShock and System Shock 2. The game has you leading a team of prisoners as they travel the Sargasso Nebula, exploring ships, navigating through space, and gathering supplies to survive. It features a cartoonish, indie comic-like visual style, complemented by a wacky, humorous tone.
The Cyberdemon Statue, produced by Gaming Heads, and distributed by Sideshow Collectables, is a limited production piece based on the Cyberdemon from DOOM (2016). Standing at ~19″ tall, the Cyberdemon is cast in polystone resin and handpainted. This statue is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide, and is slated for an April – June 2019 release.
If you’re clamoring for a gaming experience equatable to the faux-3D first person shooters of the 90s like Doom and Duke Nukem 3D, then you might want to give Project Warlock a look-see. Developed by Buckshot Software, Project Warlock looks to play like a hybrid of the aforementioned Doom and Hexen, featuring 38 contemporary, fantastical, and magical weapons along with a series of 8 spells; 60 levels across 5 worlds; and 72 separate enemy types. There’s also a leveling system with 12 perks that allow you to further customize your character to suit your playstyle.
It’s only $12 on Good Old Games, where it’s currently an exclusive release, so at the very least you woudn’t be blowing a lot of cash to give it a try.
Truth be told, I couldn’t find out exactly who manufactures these things, only that they’re supposedly tied to the popular ‘Battle Royale’-genre video game ‘PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’. All the same, these keychains are really damn cool, made of zinc alloy and impressively detailed, albeit marginally larger than your typical keychain-sized trinket. The collection consists of various weapons found in PUBG, such as an M16A4, Kar98K, SCAR-L, Thompson, and Vector (seen above). There’s also the melee pan weapon, if you’d prefer having a gold cast iron dangling from your keys.
If you’re starved for a new Fallout experience, aren’t really feeling the direction Bethesda is taking with Fallout: 76, and don’t mind booting up New Vegas on the PC, you might find interest in the upcoming Fallout: New California. In development in various forms for roughly 7 years, Fallout: New California is a fan-made mod for New Vegas which takes place 20 years before the events of said game, and 10 years before the events of Fallout 3. Practically an entire game all itself, New California is slated to have “at least 48 quests”, just under 17000 voiced lines, new weapons and armor, and two unique radio stations, with a single run from start to finish projected to take 8-30 hours, not counting the replayability of going through different quest routes.
Simply put, this is a pretty huge undertaking for a mod. And, it’ll be completely free-to-download this coming October 23rd.
It’s kind of easy to forget that this year’s CoD title is already out, since Activision usually shoots for a November release. It still kind of stings that Treyarch decided to omit a single player campaign for this year’s release, but to their credit, the ‘Battle Royale’-inspired Blackout mode has been getting good buzz. Plus, they might as well strike while the PUBG/Fortnite iron is still lukewarm.
This 1/6 Scale Venom Snake statue is produced by Japanese toy and figure company Gecco, and is based on Venom’s appearance in the TGS 2014 play demo version of Metal Gear Solid V. Measuring 12.6″ in length, this figure is made of PVC and ABS, and features a highly-detailed sculpt with non-removable accessories, barring Venom’s Stun Arm, which comes with replaceable with a default red arm or the blue and orange ‘Hand of Jehuty’.
Fallout: New Vegas is a very well-regarded action RPG and is arguably the best of the 3D Bethesda-published Fallout titles yet released. Unfortunately, due to its age it’s a bit clunky from a “modern” gameplay perspective, and because of its incredibly short development cycle lending to sub-optimal performance, it can be a bit of a chore to run stably on a “modern” computer. However, a team of dedicated modders are currently working on a mod which consists of New Vegas, built completely from the ground up to run on Fallout 4. This mod will include completely redone voice work (for legal reasons) and even features the legacy SPECIAL and Skill systems from the older Fallout titles, instead of the leveling system seen in Fallout 4.
There’s currently no word on a release date, but it’s sure to be worth the wait.
Here’s a trailer for Black Ops 4’s Blackout, the Battle Royale mode that will be featured in the game instead of the typical story mode. Featuring legacy characters like Woods and zombies integration is kinda neat, though.
The long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 from noted Polish game developer CD Projekt Red now has a lengthy 48 minute gameplay demo to check out. If you like dystopian settings with lots of violent shootouts, powerful megacorps, and cybernetics that blur the line between machine and man, then you might want to put this game on your watch list. Quick warning: there’s nudity and colorful language, so I’m going to call this one NSFW.
There have been some licensed NERF blasters in the past, although the only instance that immediately comes to mind is Star Wars-themed blasters. So, it’s not completely surprising that Overwatch, a game with a lot of unique firearms, is now getting a NERF blaster in the Reaper Wight Edition Blaster. As the name implies, this blaster is stylized after Reaper’s Hellfire shotguns, and as it’s part of the Rival series, it’ll shoot the spherical Rival projectiles, of which it can hold 8, instead of the traditional darts.
A D.Va blaster will also be released, modeled after the character’s sidearm.
Both of these blasters don’t have a definitive release date, but look for them to reach store shelves sometime in 2019.
Featuring the tag line Realistic Ridiculous Police Tactics, Door Kickers: Action Squad is a co-op focused sidescrolling shooter that’s a bit slower-paced and deliberate than your traditional run-n-gun affair, but still faster-paced and less serious that the original Door Kickers, which is a real-time strategy game where you direct a SWAT team through hostage rescue missions.
Action Squad features four playable characters, non-linear levels, and over 20 weapons and gear items. As previously mentioned, the game is co-op focused, and is seemingly balanced around two players, either via local or network multiplayer. Single player is an option, but the trailer overtly mocks the mode, so make of that as you will.
The game is in Early Access, which means that although it’s up for sale, it’s also still in development, so features and gameplay is bound to change as time goes on. You can purchase Door Kickers: Action Squad at the link below:
DOOM: Eternal, the sequel to the excellent DOOM 2016, was initially teased at this year’s E3, but today at Quakecon, id revealed actual gameplay. In essence, the gameplay shown so far looks like all the best aspects of the first DOOM, with some improved focus on player maneuverability and level verticality, and of course new weapons and enemies. The actual gameplay starts at 4:37, if you want to skip ahead.
The Doom Slayer himself also got a bit of an update, rocking a Predator-esque shoulder cannon, which fires sub-weapons like grenades and a flamethrower, and an arm blade for quick melee strikes; this blade also sees overt use in the returning ‘Glory Kill’ system.
It’s still too early to see whether Eternal will hold up to the first game in the reboot series, but the footage is very promising, and the devs seem to know what kind of game they should be going for: rip and tear, first and foremost.
DOOM: Eternal is slated for an undisclosed 2019 release.

If you’ve every played Fallout, and figured you really wanted to eat those hundreds-years-old deviled eggs, or have some molerat bits, then this is the cookbook for you. Granted, these dishes won’t be irradiated, and there probably isn’t a recipe for Blotafly roast, but I’m personally eager to see what takes the place of Deathclaw in this recipe book.
This is a pre-order item, and is supposed to release October 23rd, the day of the great war.
Door Kickers is a top-down real time strategy game where you command a SWAT team sent into various locals to neutralize bad guys and rescue hostages. I played it in early-alpha a while ago, and while I enjoyed it in its early state, it’s only gotten better and more feature-heavy since then. If you’re a fan of these types of games, it’s the perfect time to pick it up, because it’s 85% off on Steam for the next day or so (at the time of posting). That’s $2.99, from the usual price of $19.99.
