SHOT Show 2012 – Leupold VX-R Zombie Riflescope

Leupold is the latest company to jump into the Zombie market with their VX-R Zombie Riflescope. Based around the VX-R Patrol Scope, the VX-R Zombie has a few unique features that cater to its namesake. For starters, the power on switch is green, along with the scope’s illumination dot. The scope caps feature Zombie imagery on the inside, and the two included BDC dials are designed specifically for use with .223 REM and .308 WIN Hornady Zombie Max ammunition. The VX-R Zombie will retail for $599 with a limited production run.

Well, I guess I’ve reached the saturation point, zombie stuff was fun, but now it’s gone mainstream. George Romero, where are you?

  2. JP says:

Agreed. Zombie-related gear has officially jumped the shark with that retarded EOTech sight.

  3. JP says:

Actually, probably got old further back like Hornaday’s zombie ammo, or maybe even when all the zombie targets came out. Thanks for making zombies uncool, tactical community.

  4. JEO says:

I wish I were a Zombie so someone would shoot me………….

  5. Jason Lee says:

Targets? Sure, why not, no different than various others like thugs or terrorists or whatever — flavor-of-the-week makes sense on a $.50 disposable paper item.

Zombie ammo and scopes? That’s really just silly. But I guess after a while you can’t keep reselling the same stuff by writing “Tactical” on it in a jazzier font, eh?

  6. Evil Ed says:

Sorry guys, I have to disagree with you on this one, the whole “Zombie Trend” is introducing 100’s of thousands of people to the wonderful world of shooting! It is also teaching people about there civil rights as it pertains to ‘Gun Ownership” and being prepared for any emergency! (Be it, Earthquake, Flood, Tornado, etc.) The world of Hunting, Target Shooting, and Preparedness is not just for the elite anymore with a military or law enforcement background, althought it has always been available to the general public, the new “Zombie Tread” has made it cool and there is nothing wrong with that! This is not only good for the US economy, it’s good for our collective civil liberties. “The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good” ~George Washington Just a thought guys….have a great day! ~Ed

Guys, this is all about marketing which is all about making a profit which is all about America. Why else make a series on AMC like Walking Dead? I am for anything that stimulates the shooting and hunting market. I could care less if you like varmints, deer, elephant, rabbits, or zombies. At least in America for now we have the free choice to accept it, enjoy it, buy it, tolerate it, reject it or not.

  11. Gunner says:

Got mine several months ago, Love it! The green dot shows up much better than red. Will be using for Deer hunting. Great idea of the motion sensor. Rifle sits in the blind and when deer are spotted no looking for the switch to turn power on. That way your eye can stay on a possible target without losing it. Since it is a top notch scope from Leupold you can bet it will be used for a lot more than just ZOMBIES, LOL.
