Cyborgs are the future of warfare, it seems. At this rate, Black Ops IV will end up being a Terminator game in all but name, which would actually be kinda cool.

Wednesday, September 30th, 2015Anovos – The Force Awakens First Order Stormtrooper Helmet Pre-Order
Tuesday, September 29th, 2015Do you like the new Stormtrooper design, particularly the helmet? Would you like a high-quality prop replica helmet to wear to the range to which you can attribute any misplaced shots? Well, high-end prop manufacturer Anovos is selling pre-orders on the standard line First Order Stormtrooper helmets. The helmets are derived from the digital files used in the production of the upcoming Episode VII, and they’re constructed of lightweight injection-molded plastic.
Shipping is estimated to start January 2016, so unfortunately you won’t be wearing these to The Force Awakens when it comes out in theaters, but at least you’ll be set for any upcoming conventions that year.

Saturday, September 19th, 2015The Operator Theme Song Revisited
Friday, September 18th, 2015It’s been a while since I’ve shared what should be considered the ultimate Operator theme song.
The post from back when I originally posted this:
This is a song by the band Psychostick called ‘Obey the Beard’. The video was done in Source Film Maker using Team Fortress 2 character models. Brand new operator theme song anyone?
So, Uh, Who Needs Ammo?
Thursday, September 17th, 2015Ultimate Gun Game
Wednesday, September 16th, 2015Started in Counter Strike, and made all the more popular by its inclusion in several Call of Duty titles, Gun Game has a simple premise: the player starts with a pistol, and each kill grants them a new weapon. Whoever makes a kill with every weapon first wins. The folks at Corridor Digital took this concept to the logical extreme, introducing all manner of video game weaponry within a live-action rendition.
NERF Rival – Apollo XV-700
Tuesday, September 15th, 2015NERF Rival is the latest line of NERF blasters, with a strong competitive theme in that each blaster and accessory is available in either a ‘Team Red’ or ‘Team Blue’ configuration (I’ll let you guess what colors are associated with each team). The blasters are also named after Greek gods, and they fire ball-shaped “high impact rounds” rather than the familiar darts.
This particular gun, the Apollo XV-700, actually has a pretty cool set of features:
– Mechanical safety above the trigger guard
– Top mounted charging handle, reminiscent of the FAMAS
– Accessory rails (a bit smaller than Picatinny standard; trust me, I tried mounting an EOTech just for giggles)
– Seven-shot magazine, which seats within the pistol grip
Oh, and it kicks like a beast, at least by NERF standards, when it fires. Given the projectiles sport a 100 fps velocity, you’d figure it would have to have a pretty strong action.
I only have two complaints:
1) The charging handle obscures the sight profile of the Apollo
2) There’s not a lot of grip room to place your off-hand, since the rear of the Apollo holds the spring assembly.
The best part, though? They actually call the magazine a magazine. Now that’s what I call progress.

Thanks to ‘RB’ from Facebook for the tip!

Humble Tom Clancy Bundle
Thursday, September 10th, 2015If you’re not familiar with a Humble Bundle, it’s a collection of digital media, usually video games, literature, or movies, with a price point that is decided entirely by the purchaser. These bundles are available for a limited time, typically two weeks or so. Humble Bundles generally have a baseline offer that can be purchased at any price, including just $1, and feature incentive rewards, where higher paying customers who reach certain money milestones are offered more content. Additionally, many of these bundles have a charitable organization attached to them, and purchasers can choose how much of their donation goes to the charity, the game developers, and the Humble Bundle organization itself.
This time, the bundle opportunity might be more interesting to the TFB readership, considering its all Tom Clancy games. Pay what you want for the original Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six 3 Gold, Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, the original Ghost Recon, and access to the Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer beta. If you pony up more than the average ($8.51 at the time of writing), you also get Vegas 2, Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Edition, the original Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Double Agent, and EndWar. Any amount of $10 or over will also get you Splinter Cell Blacklist and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and the ultimate tier, of $75 or more, will guarantee you Rainbow Six Siege, an exclusive Siege t-shirt, and 66%-off any three Ubisoft titles in the Humble Store, in addition to all the previous rewards.
The original Rainbow Six was one of the very first, if not the first, tactical first person shooters, featuring real-world weapons and equipment, one or two-bullet lethality for both terrorists and Rainbow operatives, and an extensive pre-mission planning feature which you could set custom movements and waypoints throughout the map for your AI operatives, ensuring a successful mission. I’ll admit it was a bit slow paced for my younger self, but it is still one of my personal favorites as far as games go.
Forgotten Weapons Takes A Look At The Pancor Jackhammer
Wednesday, September 9th, 2015Forgotten Weapons had the extremely rare opportunity to take a look at the only existing working model of the Pancor Jackhammer automatic shotgun. Due to its futuristic design, its been featured in myriad video games and more than a few films and television shows, but only three working models were ever produced, with the other two having been destroyed some time ago.
Monty Python And The Holy Grail 40th Anniversary Castle Catapult Blu-Ray Set
Tuesday, September 8th, 2015The 40th Anniversary of Monty Python and the Holy Grail will soon be upon us, and in celebration, Monty Python is releasing a special Blu-Ray box set. The set contains new artwork by Terry Gilliam, the 30-minute “Monty Python and the Holy Grail at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival” featurette, a Q&A with Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, John Cleese and Eric Idle, hosted by John Oliver and recorded live at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, exclusive introductory letters from Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, and, perhaps best of all, collectible castle packaging with real catapult action and rubber farm animals.
I dunno if the set is Amazon exclusive, but that’s where the link provided by the official Monty Python YouTube channel goes to, so it’s the link I’m using: www.amazon.com/dp/B013P0WZVS
Star Wars VII NERF Blasters

Steampunk Gas Mask
Sunday, September 6th, 2015Unfortunately, this is a costume piece, not a working mask, but it’s still really cool looking. It’s made of silicone with machined aluminum with a copper finish, and adjustable jeweler’s lenses over both eyes. Reminds me of Karl Ruprecht Kroenen from the first Hellboy flick.
