What’s up with movie trailers and awful fitting music? Regardless, Justice League is looking pretty good. Even so, the DCEU hasn’t had that solid of a critical track record, Wonder Woman notwithstanding, and trailers are designed to attract interest in a property, regardless of the final outcome.
In short, hopefully this pulls a Wonder Woman, and doesn’t suck like the other DCEU movies.
GrimWorkshop on Etsy makes a variety of credit card-sized survival kits. This one, their Survival Spear, is exactly what it sounds like. The card consists of three individual pieces, that can be combined into a full sized broadhead spear tip; just add handle and lashing and you’re ready to go. The pieces are made of stainless steel, and can even be put back into the storage card thanks to a patent pending tool retention system developed by GrimWorkshop.
Bandai’s latest update to the Marvel Manga Realization series is a Samurai’d War Machine. This highly detailed and articulated figurine comes in at 6.9″ tall, and comes with 2 Pairs of optional hands, a katana, backpack, and stand. What I love most about this figure is the flintlock cannon and volley gun; period appropriate firearms to be sure, but man, that recoil and heft.
HatsanUSA is quickly ushering in the era of the semi-automatic airgun with the announcement of the new Sortie semi-auto air pistol. Following the successful launch of two new semi-automatic air rifles – the Hatsan Barrage and BullMaster – earlier this year, the Sortie brings the same revolutionary gas-operated semi-auto action to a smaller, lightweight pistol platform. The Sortie’s rapid rate of fire means users can sling pellets downrange as fast as they can pull the trigger.
The Sortie is a pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air pistol and is available in .177, .22 and .25 calibers. It sports a refillable 62cc on-board air cylinder that provides shooters with up to 28 shots at optimal velocity per fill. A built-in pressure gauge allows the user to monitor the pressure in the air cylinder. It comes with 3 rotary magazines with capacities of 14 shots in .177, 12 shots in .22 caliber or 10 shots in .25 caliber.
The Sortie features a fully shrouded, precision rifled barrel, includes a quick-fill nozzle and comes with adjustable TRUGLO® fiber optic sights. A combo Weaver / Dovetail rail is milled into the receiver to accept both 11mm and 22mm optics. Designed to be extremely ergonomic, the Sortie is built with a polymer, checkered grip (right hand only).
A hard case is included for easy transport and the MSRP on the HatsanUSA Sortie Pistol is $699.99.

Rick and Morty season 3 is now over, but the merchandise continues to come out. Such is the case with this life sized replica portal gun from the series, made by Funko. It’s up for pre-order, and will be made available this coming December.
Another example of a sequel actually being a prequel to the first installment, RDR 2 has you playing as Arthur Morgan as he works with the Van der Linde gang as they outlaw around the Old West.
Spike’s Tactical Snowflake Lower makes fun of today’s ultra-PC attitudes, both in its name and the imagery on the lower. Of particular note is the selector switch marks, ‘Safe Space’, ‘Triggered’, and ‘Full Libturd’. Now, the lower is currently selling for $115 ($140 color filled), which is pretty pricey in a market where a perfectly functional lower can be had for regularly under $50, so its up to the buyer whether the unique marking is worth the premium price.
Did you know there was a RoboCop animated series? Yeah, pretty crazy, right? Well, this figure isn’t from that. Rather, it’s based on the Ultimate Future RoboCop from the Frank Miller comic RoboCop vs. The Terminator. The figure is 7 inches, features over 25 points of articulation, and comes with his standard Auto 9 pistol as an accessory; y’know, along with all the missiles and the minigun.

YouTube channel SmarterEveryDay featured this video detailing see through suppressors in slow motion. Specifically, the channel head Destin Sandlin partnered with Soteria Suppressors to produce the footage, where multiple suppressor designs created by Soteria were wrapped in transparent acrylic, and the footage of them being shot through was recorded at 110,000 frames per second.
It’s interesting to see the various designs, and their pass and fail rate.
Shinichiro Watanabe, director of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, directed this short animation that takes place in the Blade Runner universe, some 20 years before the events of the upcoming Blade Runner 2049. In it, a devastating EMP strike is blamed on replicants, leading to a human supremacy movement, and replicants being made illegal.
Check it out, it’s worth a watch.
Edit: It’s getting taken down all over the place. You can watch the official release on Crunchyroll.

I kinda fell off keeping up with the Netflix arm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; I haven’t seen Jessica Jones or The Defenders, and I dropped out of Iron Fist 3 episodes in. However, I definitely won’t be missing The Punisher series when it launches, sometime later this year. He was easily the highlight of Daredevil season 2, and

HatsanUSA has announced the Riptor – a new C02-powered, semi-automatic BB pistol. The Riptor is the ultimate fun-gun for shooting cans or targets in the backyard. With its realistic blowback action, this is one plinker that you’ll want to take with you wherever you go. It’s also a great option for teaching pistol fundamentals to first-time shooters.
“Hatsan fans have been asking for us to bring a realistic blowback CO2 BB pistol to the US market and with the Riptor, we feel like we’ve answered the call with an inexpensive and fun-to-shoot BB pistol. The fact that it is also quite accurate and extremely quiet will add to the appeal,” said Blaine Manifold, President of HatsanUSA.
The Riptor is powered by replaceable 12 gram CO2 air cylinders and fires .177 caliber BBs. Average velocities are 350 feet per second using steel BBs. The Riptor’s removable magazine holds 15 BBs, the CO2 cartridge and valve.
The Riptor’s integral QuietEnergy sound suppression system reduces downrange noise, making it a perfect choice for backyard plinking. An all-metal construction ensures durability of the pistol and a built-in Weaver accessory rail make it possible to attach lights, lasers and other accessories. The grip is covered in textured polymer to ensure a comfortable grip for almost any hand size.
WEST VALLEY CITY, UT – September 19, 2017 – For the first time since the National Firearms Act (NFA) was created in 1934, civilians can enjoy suppressed shooting in all 50 states with SilencerCo’s latest innovation: the integrally suppressed Maxim 50 muzzleloader. In addition, this product can be purchased right now on the web with no regulation (no 4473, no tax stamp, no photographs or fingerprints) at store.silencerco.com and be shipped immediately to the purchaser with few exceptions*.
Residents in the 42 states that allow civilian ownership of silencers have to pay a $200 tax, fill out forms, send in photos, submit to fingerprinting, and wait months for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to review their forms and check their backgrounds—just to acquire an inherently-harmless product. With all the hoops to jump through, it’s no surprise that many Americans have difficulty committing the time or money it takes to save their hearing. Citizens may have had their Second Amendment rights suppressed, but innovation cannot be silenced.
With the invention of the Maxim 50, SilencerCo has created a product that is 100% legal for civilian ownership in all 50 states while providing hearing-saving suppression at a reasonable price point. How is this possible? By paying very close attention to the law.
The BATFE defines a silencer as a “device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm . . .” By that definition, a silencer is only a silencer if it can attach to a firearm. The Maxim 50 is built on the base of a Traditions™ Vortek Strikerfire Muzzleloader. For those who know muzzleloaders, you’ll also know that they are not considered firearms by the BATFE but are instead antique firearms, a definition and difference that is very distinct. Because of this, a moderator that is permanently affixed to a muzzleloader is not legally defined as a silencer, since it does not attach to a firearm. With this realization, the Maxim 50 was born.
“It took a lot of creativity to arrive at this solution,” said Josh Waldron, SilencerCo CEO and Co-Founder. “We have been working on this product for three years, with most of that time spent waiting on a determination from the Technology Branch of the BATFE as to how this product would be classified. As soon as we received official word that it wouldn’t be considered or regulated as a silencer, we got to work on bringing the Maxim 50 to customers across the country.”
SilencerCo expects the Maxim 50 to be a hit not only with the NFA-loving crowd, but also with hobbyists and hunters. In many states, muzzleloader hunting begins days (sometimes weeks) before standard rifle season, giving hunters using this platform an edge. But this edge does come with caveats – antique firearms are usually loud, have lots of recoil, and the shooter has to battle the thick cloud of black powder smoke billowing from the barrel as they try to see if their shot connected with their game. The Maxim 50 solves all of the issues experienced by muzzleloader shooters while also drastically reducing the resulting smoke by more than two-thirds, allowing hunters to see the location of their shot and track their game.
SilencerCo is honored to finally be able to bring suppressed shooting to its customers across the country, especially in states such as California, Illinois, and New York, where civilian ownership of silencers is not currently allowed.
