Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer

Friday, November 28th, 2014

It’s just a teaser trailer, and it’s already better than all three prequel movies combined.

Iron Sky: The Coming Race

Saturday, November 8th, 2014

Iron Sky is a goofy movie that can be summed up as such: Moon Nazis.

The sequel looks even sillier.

Trick Or Treat Studios – They Live Mask

They Live!

Trick Or Treat studios has released a pretty high-quality officially licensed ‘They Live’ Alien mask. They eye slits are pretty restrictive, but the directions say to take a sharp pair of scissors to them if you need better visibility, so it’s a non-issue.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron Trailer

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014

An early leak of the Age of Ultron teaser trailer has forced Disney to release it officially, a day ahead of its intended release after tomorrow’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Gotta say, it looks pretty damn cool, what with the Hulkbuster Armor, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (which thanks to convoluted contractual loopholes is conveniently unrelated to his Days of Future Past incarnation), and big bad Ultron, in this continuity a creation of Tony Stark, not Hank ‘Ant-Man’ Pym.

Age of Ultron drops May 15th, 2015.

These images were sent to us by TFB reader Case Jumper via Facebook. They’re of a Mandalorian (that’s Boba Fett’s race for those not in the know) armor that’s been given the ole Crye treatment. Great stuff Case! You can see more on his Facebook profile page, linked above.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – A Short Review

Friday, August 22nd, 2014

Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_film_July_2014_poster

Well, the Amigos enjoyed it well enough.

As for me, I wasn’t really into it. Without trying to spoil too much, April’s involvement in the turtles and Splinter’s origin is a poor attempt at linking them together, the CGI isn’t that good looking, and the Foot Clan aren’t even ninjas, just thugs with ARs and crappy masks.

Splinter learned Ninjitsu from a manual he found thrown away in the sewer, which he mastered and later taught to the turtles. He also somehow managed to obtain quality, authentic “ninja weapons” for them to use. My belief was suspended at that point (because talking turtles who also happen to be ninjas is a totally believable premise, right?).

The positives? The action scenes aren’t that bad, and I chuckled a few times at the admittedly lame jokes. It’s ok for the kids, but TMNT fans won’t find anything worth watching.

If you need a Turtle fix, go watch the 90s trilogy; even Turtles III is better.

Verdict: Wait for the home release, if at all.

Maxpedition In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Maxpedition in TMNT

It looks like they’ve slipped a Maxpedition Doppelduffel Adventure Bag into the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, as used by Will Arnett’s character. As it happens, I’m going with the Three Amigos to see it later on today, so I’ll post something on it after I get back.

You can get the Doopelduffel here: www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/DOPPELDUFFEL-ADVENTURE-BAG-3p556

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Red Band Trailer (NSFW)

Thursday, July 31st, 2014

‘A Dame to Kill For’ is looking like a decent sequel to the first Sin City movie. Fair warning, the trailer is violent, and more importantly actually seems to spoil quite a bit.

Deadpool Leaked Test Footage

Deadpool Test Footage in HD by itsartmag

Some shaky cam footage of a test film for a potential Deadpool movie was leaked a few days ago. It was pulled, but thankfully the powers that be decided to release the actual test film on the internet, and man is it great. Note two things:

1) This is a few years old, and was put together to try and sell a Deadpool movie to Fox. Thankfully, the buzz on this test footage has been pretty positive, so they may attempt to revitalize the project after all!

2) It’s 100% CGI, but it’s not likely that a full length theatrical release would be.

12 Monkey’s Remake

Monday, July 21st, 2014

The S[ci]F[i] Network (changing their name to SyFy was and still is dumb) has decided to do a remake of Terry Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys. For those of you who haven’t seen it, 12 Monkeys was a trippy science fiction movie starting Bruce Willis as a man who is sent into the past to try and obtain a sample of a virus that virtually wiped out mankind in his time, so that a cure could be developed. Just looking at the trailer it looks like a way different beast, seemingly sharing only a name and a basic concept. We’ll have to wait until January 2015 to see how it stands up compared to the original.
