Cooking With Archer

Chromecast
Saturday, September 7th, 2013Chromecast is an inexpensive device that allow you to stream from your computer directly to your television over your Wi-Fi connection. Actually, while that’s true, there are some restrictions. Specifically, Chromecast is designed to work best with certain devices and certain services/programs: if you want to stream YouTube, Google Play videos, or Netflix from your iOS, android, or computer you’re completely covered. Also, true to its name, it’s specific to the Chrome browser, so if your running it from your computer you’ll have to do all your surfing using Chrome for the device to work.
In my experience, you could project virtually any website to your tv if you wanted, although the stream to screen ratio was far from 1:1; lowering the stream quality from 720p to 480p helped a bit. You can almost get away with running ‘third party media players’ like Vimeo for a few seconds to a few minutes, until the stream decides to crash on you and you have to restart it. Overall, if you’re a Netflix or YouTube junkie without a game console or blu-ray player capable of streaming these services to your television, this might be the solution you’re looking for.
Spira Duck Dynasty Camouflage Shoe
Friday, August 23rd, 2013Spira and Duck Dynasty have partnered up to create officially licensed Duck Dynasty camouflage shoes. The shoes are based on Spira’s Stinger XLT performance shoe which features WaveSpring technology. They’re currently up for croudfunding on RocketHub, where they’ve already exceed their initial $100,000 goal. It’s also implied that only through RocketHub that the featured versions of these shoes can be obtained; they’re billed as limited edition. What’s really cool about the funding, however is that by exceeding the funding goal, A&E is donating $20,000 to America’s VetDogs, an organization that provides service dogs for disabled veterans and active duty personnel.

Wednesday, August 14th, 2013Survivorman Comic Book
Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013Les Stroud is getting his own comic book to be released this Fall, based on the Survivorman television show. ‘Survivorman: The Horn of Providence’, which involves Les ‘Survivorman’ Stroud chasing down a stolen artifact from American history, sounds a bit more Indiana Jones than the standard Survivorman affair. The story is being written by Dusty McGowen, with Brian Lucey and Matt Lesniewski on art, and is being published by Blue Water Comics.

It’s sound clips from Archer dubbed over clips from Star Trek: The Animated Series, and it is brilliant.

It comes with five walker heads that can be arranged in any order, and the set can be filled with water and the aquariums light up. The set will be available later this year.

Afterwards, the participant could view a sneak peak of the show split up into segments with multiple choice questions in-between.
Venture Bros. Season 5 Teaser Images
Sunday, January 6th, 2013The next season of ‘Venture Bros.’ is well on track, as evidenced with this image, along with many more found at the link below. For the uninitiated, ‘Venture Bros.’ is a deconstruction yet loving parody of ‘Johnny Quest’ and other shows of that era mixed in with plenty of pop culture references and humor, ranging from outright crude to fairly esoteric.

Target Joffrey Poster
Saturday, September 15th, 2012Anyone who is familiar with ‘Game of Thrones’, or the book series it’s based on, knows that Joffrey Baratheon is a major jerkass, and that’s putting it lightly. Thanks to 604 Republic, however anyone can take out their frustration on a shooting target bearing his image. These full color 12.5″ by 18.5″ targets are printed on 100lb. stock paper using environmentally friendly vegetable soy based inks. My favorite element is the ‘Made In Winterfell’ tag on the lower-right corner of the target.
Internet Movie Firearm Database
Wednesday, August 15th, 2012I’m sure you know about the Internet Movie Database, or imdb.com, another one of those internet time sinks that has information on almost every movie ever along with almost every actor ever, the parts they’ve played, etc. Since this is the internet, where just about any damn thing can be found, and copycats are common, somebody made a similar site in the form of a Wiki, but with firearms as the primary focus instead of movies and actors, even calling it the internet movie firearm database. On the site, you can look up what movies, television shows, and video games a firearm has been in, what firearms a movie, television show, or video game has featured, and even what firearms and in what show/movie/video game an actor has used.
It’s pretty exhaustive, which makes games of 6-degrees-of-a-Beretta-92F all the easier to play.
