The official ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6’ YouTube channel uploaded a pretty cool video of Gator from Firebase Combat Studies Group showing MissMagitek the ins and outs of room clearing at the Alliance Police Training Facility in Ohio.

Receiver
Sunday, October 18th, 2015Receiver is a game by Wolfire Games that was created for the “…7-day FPS challenge to explore gun handling mechanics, randomized levels, and unordered storytelling.” Most First Person Shooters, and video games in general, simplify and automate the process of loading and operating a firearm to make the experience more enjoyable for the player. Receiver, on the other hand, randomly assigns the player one of three handguns, and requires they be treated exactly like they would in real life: players have to manipulate the safety, pull back the slide to check if there’s a round in the chamber, and even have to check the magazine to see their round count.

Saturday, October 10th, 2015World Of Tanks Premieres First Brazilian-Themed Hero Tank on Console
Thursday, October 8th, 2015October 8, 2015 — Wargaming introduces the very first Brazilian-themed hero tank in the free-to-play smash hit World of Tanks on Xbox One and Xbox 360. The release of the Tier VIII M41B Brazilian Bulldog or “M41B Pracinha” aligns with Wargaming’s presence at Brazil Game Show and will be offered globally beginning today through October 23.
The M41B “Pracinha” name is a reference to the members of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) who participated in major battles during World War II such as the Battle of Monte Castello. This patriotic tank features a special Brazilian fighting force emblem, the smoking snake. This emblem pays homage to the historical FEB rallying cry. This agile and quick high-tier US light tank features a wholly custom camouflage and excels at locating and evading the enemy. Of course, Pracinha also proudly and prominently displays the Brazilian flag.

Far Cry Primal
Tuesday, October 6th, 2015Far Cry Primal is a Stone Age-set take on the Far Cry series, trading in the contemporary setting, weapons, and animals of the previous games and replacing them with a post Ice Age world, bows and spears, and woolly mammoths. Kinda seems like it would be better as a Blood Dragon-esque expansion rather than a full game, but only time will tell.
Far Cry Primal drops February 23, 2016.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Story Trailer
Wednesday, September 30th, 2015Cyborgs are the future of warfare, it seems. At this rate, Black Ops IV will end up being a Terminator game in all but name, which would actually be kinda cool.

The Operator Theme Song Revisited
Friday, September 18th, 2015It’s been a while since I’ve shared what should be considered the ultimate Operator theme song.
The post from back when I originally posted this:
This is a song by the band Psychostick called ‘Obey the Beard’. The video was done in Source Film Maker using Team Fortress 2 character models. Brand new operator theme song anyone?
Ultimate Gun Game
Wednesday, September 16th, 2015Started in Counter Strike, and made all the more popular by its inclusion in several Call of Duty titles, Gun Game has a simple premise: the player starts with a pistol, and each kill grants them a new weapon. Whoever makes a kill with every weapon first wins. The folks at Corridor Digital took this concept to the logical extreme, introducing all manner of video game weaponry within a live-action rendition.

Charisma
Intelligence
Agility
Luck
Humble Tom Clancy Bundle
Thursday, September 10th, 2015If you’re not familiar with a Humble Bundle, it’s a collection of digital media, usually video games, literature, or movies, with a price point that is decided entirely by the purchaser. These bundles are available for a limited time, typically two weeks or so. Humble Bundles generally have a baseline offer that can be purchased at any price, including just $1, and feature incentive rewards, where higher paying customers who reach certain money milestones are offered more content. Additionally, many of these bundles have a charitable organization attached to them, and purchasers can choose how much of their donation goes to the charity, the game developers, and the Humble Bundle organization itself.
This time, the bundle opportunity might be more interesting to the TFB readership, considering its all Tom Clancy games. Pay what you want for the original Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six 3 Gold, Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, the original Ghost Recon, and access to the Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer beta. If you pony up more than the average ($8.51 at the time of writing), you also get Vegas 2, Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Edition, the original Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Double Agent, and EndWar. Any amount of $10 or over will also get you Splinter Cell Blacklist and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and the ultimate tier, of $75 or more, will guarantee you Rainbow Six Siege, an exclusive Siege t-shirt, and 66%-off any three Ubisoft titles in the Humble Store, in addition to all the previous rewards.
The original Rainbow Six was one of the very first, if not the first, tactical first person shooters, featuring real-world weapons and equipment, one or two-bullet lethality for both terrorists and Rainbow operatives, and an extensive pre-mission planning feature which you could set custom movements and waypoints throughout the map for your AI operatives, ensuring a successful mission. I’ll admit it was a bit slow paced for my younger self, but it is still one of my personal favorites as far as games go.
Enter The Gungeon
Friday, August 14th, 2015Ok, so it might be a bit too early to be talking about this game, since it’s slated for a 2016 release and there’s not a whole lot of info out about it yet, but it looks interesting enough: guns, a gungeon, anthropomorphic bullets that shoot guns (they’re called the Gundead), tables you can flip to block bullets shot from guns, and a gun that can kill the past. Looks right up my alley.
I’ll be keeping my eye out for this one.
World Of Guns: Gun Disassembly
Thursday, August 13th, 2015World of Guns: Gun Disassembly is an in-depth firearms assembly simulator which features high quality 3D models of a fair number of real-world firearms, with more being added over time. The player can fully disassemble the firearm, look at its operation and function through multiple levels of x-ray, and can even test it out on a virtual range. Plus, the developers have also added in a few vehicles, and the skeletal structures of multiple animals, human included.
It’s free-to-play, but additional content will cost money.
Fallout Anthology Collection
Monday, July 27th, 2015With Fallout 4 coming out this November, there’s still time to play the previous games to catch up with the series: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas. With this in mind, Bethesda Softworks is releasing the Fallout Anthology collection, which contains Windows-compatible versions of the five previous games all contained within a mini nuke case with audible bomb sound. Best of all, there’s a space reserved for a copy of Fallout 4, when it releases.
Available for pre-order direct from Bethesda, or through various retailers.
Fallout 4 – Gameplay Exploration
Saturday, July 18th, 2015Bethesda released Fallout 4 footage from the Xbox Showcase that played at E3. November can’t come soon enough.
SDCC 2015 – Dark Horse Comics – Black Ops III Comic
Monday, July 13th, 2015Dark Horse is doing a Black Ops III prequel comic.
They were giving away a free preview at the show. It’s pretty interesting: the special operatives talk in a weird future slang, and new yen is a currency (Shadowrun, much?). I’m curious to see how the full comic pans out when it gets released later this year.
SDCC 2015 – Tom Clancy’s The Division
Saturday, July 11th, 2015At the off-site Xbox Lounge, among the various games on display, is a playable demo of the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division; the same demo that was available at this year’s E3. Unfortunately, recording any gameplay footage was not allowed, however I can say that aside from being part of an obvious beta build, it is a solid game that expectedly takes a lot of design cues from the Ghost Recon series. so if you’ve played the Advanced Warfighter games, or the more recent Future Soldier, you’ll have a good idea on what to expect gameplay-wise.
