In an article written for NRA Shooting Illustrated, author Bob Boyd details the process of building a live fire version of Han Solo’s iconic DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol, easily recognizable as having been based on a Mauser C96 pistol. It’s a good read, detailing the cost and methods behind procuring and installing the necessary components to make the DL-44 replica as movie accurate as possible. Now the question is, who’s willing to track down a Sterling SMG and make it into a convincing, live firing E-11 replica?
Displate’s Warriors of the Ages posters are gallery quality prints, on thick 17.7″ x 12.6″ metal plates. There are multiple stylized designs to choose from, including a Viking, a Samurai, a Zulu warrior, and even a D&D-esque barbarian warrior.
Looking for a shaving set for a friend or family member for the holiday season? Then you might want to give The Mighty Pen Co. a look-see. They’ve taken a spent .50 BMG cartridge, and a 20mm shell, and have turned them into a Razor and Badger hair brush set that makes for an impressive-looking shaving kit. The pieces are also available on their own, and true to their name, The Mighty Pen Co. also offers a selection of great-looking ‘Bullet Pens’. Plus, you’d be supporting a Veteran-owned business, so what’s not to like?
Modeled after Deathstroke as featured in the video game ‘Batmam Arkham Origins’, this full scale replica features Deathstroke’s mask, Ninjato sword, and Ballistic Staff. The piece is crafted and cast in polystone, and is hand-finished and hand-painted. Only 500 will be made available.
The newest Batman v Superman trailer does a decent job of hyping up the movie, however it also spoils some crucial plot points, as most modern trailers do. In that regard, this fan trailer does a much better job of keeping the tone of the original Trailer 2 without the spoilers, so if you haven’t already watched the original, stick with this one.
Echelon is offering a limited number of signed BPRE sets for $84 shipped in the US (overseas shipping is an option, but it’ll also be rough on the books). Josh Taylor, the series illustrator, signed 10 complete sets of the BPRE books (volumes 1-7). Each order ships with a free sticker set and another random goodie from the “sold out” bin, which is the the out of print BPRE patch stash that Echelon still maintains. With book 8 due in a few weeks, this collection makes for a timely gift.

It’s Wednesday, so that means new comics, and that includes this new series ‘The Sheriff of Babylon’. It’s co-created by Mitch Gerads, co-creator of The ACTIVITY, a comic which details the actions of the Intelligence Support Activity. It’s a pretty good read, so pick up an issue if you can.
At the very appropriately named PredatorHelmetsDirect.com, you can purchase one of many motorcycle helmets stylized after the helmets utilized by the Yautja/Hish-qu-Ten species, better known as the Predators.
Massdrop is currently having a deal on “Tactical” Christmas Stockings. The stocking itself isn’t new (I have a story on one from last year, and they’ve been around for even longer than that), but the 25%-off MSRP might be an attractive buy to some interested parties. They’re available in Black, Gray, or Tati-Claus Red.
Oh, and you’ll need a Massdrop account to see the page and actually make a purchase, so here’s a screenshot which should serve as a sufficient preview:
Sweden’s Grimfrost offers another great Christmas gift idea. They’ve got drinking horns in a variety of sizes and styles, including stands and belt hangers, all perfect for your next viking fest.

Usually, I’m pretty content with just showing off cool new NERF blasters without knowing the details of their operating mechanism, but this educational video from YouTube Channel engineerguy shows how a particular pistol-style NERF blaster functions. It’s actually pretty cool to see how this particular model works.

I’ve shown a few kill count supercut videos featuring action stars such as Van Damme and Schwarzenegger, but they have nothing on Luke Skywalker, the Jedi with a kill count of over 369,000, and yes, that does include the Death Star. Anyone want to take a guess on how many more victims he’ll rack up in Episode VII?
Insignificant Fish Industries has created a 4.4 oz flask called the “First Shot” based on Han Solo’s DL-44 heavy blaster pistol. The silver muzzle is the flask’s cap and unscrews to be a 1.5oz shot glass. As of now, it is an unlicensed product, so it’s technically unavailable, but here’s to hoping it gets the go ahead for actual production sometime down the line.
