Battle Arms Studios’ Limited-Edition “Solo Blaster” Collector’s Piece

Wednesday, March 6th, 2024

Get ready to channel your inner Han Solo with the latest offering from Battle Arms Studios. The Solo Blaster is a custom AR Pisol-style design (or AR .22? We’re really not sure what to call this thing.) chambered in .22 LR, which draws inspiration from the iconic blaster wielded by the iconic smuggler-turned-hero in the Star Wars franchise.

“Coming soon from Battle Arms Studios… Solo Blaster! Be a rebel in this epic tale of fun and adventure, where you are the hero. This .22 LR is out of this world and made in very limited quantities. Stay tuned for how you can purchase one and start your hero’s journey in a galaxy far away.” – Battle Arms Development

This eye-catching collector’s piece features a battle-worn finish, functional custom safety selector knob, last-round bolt hold open, 10-round magazine, MG42 style flash cone, Mauser broom handle style grip, and is optics ready. While it might not pack the same punch as Han’s DL-44, this non-functional Solo Blaster, it’s still probably bound to be a hit for a collector. Based on what we saw, Solo Blaster may have initially been intended as a contest prize, but its popularity sparked Battle Arms Studios to produce a limited supply for purchase.

“I told a lot of you at the NRA Show this year that we are huge Star Wars fans here at Battlearms and that we celebrate that with a lot of fun memorabilia. and custom builds… Here is a small taste…” – Battle Arms Development

According to comments on their Instagram, Battle Arms may also be making it available to dealers. They also encouraged another customer in the comments to email them to hold a spot. Apparently, this run may already be pre-sold out—it looks like they’re doing another run, though! Even more exciting, they’ve alluded to maybe making a custom Boba Fett blaster next.

If you want to add a unique and galactic touch to your collection, stay tuned to Battle Arms Studios for more information on how to secure one of these blasters or follow them on Instagram at @battlearms

OR Open Air Demo – Fitovers

Since I wear glasses, I really like the Fitovers from Jonathon Paul. I don’t have any sun glasses and these fit over my regular glasses to protect my eyes from the sun. I also like that they come in kids sizes. In fact, they offer X-small, Small, Medium, Large and XLarge for all face sizes. Also, they have many different lens colors. My favorite is the polarized green mirrored but the best one is the yellow which filters out 95% of blue light.

OR Open Air Demo – Kahuna Creations

Wednesday, August 6th, 2014

Last year at OR, we bought a Kahuna Creations longboard called the Black Wave. This board is a drop deck used for high performance carving. It’s also low, at an inch from the ground, so anyone could ride the board. I ride it all of the time. When used with the paddle it’s great for off-season Stand Up Paddleboarding and offers an intense upper body and core fitness workout.

But their newest board is the Shaka-kahili which is the board in the upper left of the photo. It is in the shape of a hammock and the board has two high points on the trucks. The Shaka-kahili is mainly used for cruising and has a great stable design.

OR Open Air Demo – Personal Security Products Hike N’ Strike

Wednesday, August 6th, 2014

PS Products had two cool items. First was the Blast Knuckles Extreme which packs a punch of 950,000 volts. Not only can you punch someone trying to hurt you, you can also shock them. You just press the button while you are punching them.

I’m a hiker and I often worry about wild animals and dogs who might attack me on the trail. Some people are also dangerous. The Hike n’ Strike includes a flashlight and extreme spike electrodes with 950,000 volts of power to scare anyone or anything off. I like that it has a light to light my way as well as the built in shocker. It also has a non-slip molded group so you won’t lose it.

OR Open Air Demo – Industrial Revolution Softshell Ice Cream Ball

Wednesday, August 6th, 2014

One of the most useful things I saw at the event was the new softshell ice cream ball from www.YayLabs.com.

20140805-201042-72642807.jpg

It’s very simple to use and I want to get one for use while camping. The inside of the ball is hollow and you put ice cream mix inside at one end and ice and salt at the other end. Then you just roll it around until the ice cream is made. It looks like lots of fun and the ice cream I tried was awesome.

The .50 Cal Gatling: Getcha one of these.

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Personally, I want to see one of these on a technical, driven by a bunch of mean, bearded sumbitches from Ft. Benning rocking their way through a hostile village in Pashtunistan. But that’s just me.

The GAU-19 Gatling .50 Cal is one serious piece of hardware which I thought I’d mention today in light of it’s renewed interest for Naval deployment. Many have never even heard of it or seen it deployed, which is a shame because this monster can lay down the hate.
