Cannaflage

A reader has sent in info on an interesting camouflage shirt they procured at the Tahoe Hemp Company in Tahoe, CA. The shirt is made of 55/45 Hemp/Organic Cotton, hand-dyed by Divine Tribe in their proprietary Cannaflage pattern. The camo itself is reminiscent of digital Woodland, with cannabis leaves interspersed within the pattern. The reader claims the heavy, natural fibers allow the shirt to work well as a base layer, and although it took several washings to cut down on the scratchy texture, the shirt keeps warm when its cool, cool when its warm, and has great moisture wicking attributes.

PTS Syndicate – Griffin Armament QD Blast Shield

Available for pre-order, the PTS Griffin Armament QD Blast Shield is designed to be used with airsoft rifles equipped with the M4SDII Flash Comp, M4SDII Muzzle Brake, M4SDII Flash Hider, and M4SDII Tactical Compensator, as well as many third party A2 flash hiders. It features a QD mechanism the same as that used on the PTS Griffin Armament M4SDII QD mock suppressor. The Blast Shield is made of 60601 T6 aluminum with a weight of 153g.

Orca Industries – Boba Octopus Patch

Inspired by Prometheus Design Werx’s line of Kraken patches, and designed for Christine the Fett of Force Girls, the Boba Octopus patch is embroidered, with Velcro hook backing. I recently picked one of these up when I was down at the Double Tap Surplus Grand Reopening. It’s a great patch, and is a good choice for fans of galactic bounty hunters and celephapods alike.

Sideshow Collectables – Boba Fett Bronze Statue

Probably the closest you’ll ever see Boba Fett in carbonite, Sideshow Collectables has released a limited edition bronze statue of everyone’s favorite Mandalorian bounty hunter. It comes in at 21″ tall, atop an environmental display base reminiscent of Jabba’s Palace. The cost? $5000, because if anybody’s worth five grand, it’s the Fett, right?

The Deadpool Movie Is Officially Rated ‘R’

April 2nd, 2015

Sorry to spoil everything at the title, but April Fool’s was yesterday. Anyway, Ryan Reynolds tweeted that the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ movie was going to be PG-13, but then made an appearance on ‘Extra’ to more or less clarify that it’s actually going to receive an ‘R’ rating.

‘Deadpool’ is slated for a February 12, 2016 release.

Thunderbirds Are Go! Official Trailer

A reboot of ‘Thunderbirds’ with special effects by WETA? Sign me up! Too bad the characters aren’t more reminiscent of the original ‘supermarionation’ style, but the live-action sets are on point. Plus, it still beats the pants off of that crappy ‘Thunderbirds’ movie released back in ’04.

‘Thunderbirds Are Go!’ debuts on April 5th in the UK, and April 12th in Australia, with no word on a US release (yet).

Dillinger Corp – Dillinger ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’ T-Shirt

Dillinger Corp is a recently established UK-based company which produces “independent lifestyle clothing and goods.” Their first product is the limited edition ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’ t-shirt, inspired by the notorious bank robber John H Dillinger. Printed on the front of shirt is an illustration of John’s Remington .41 Double Derringer pistol, with his last words, “Bye Bye Blackbird”, engraved on the barrel. The shirt itself is 100% ringspun cotton, colored black. Available in sizes SM-XXL.

Dillinger Corp’s full product launch is later this year, Spring/Summer.

Loot Crate – March ‘Covert’ Crate Unboxing

Loot Crate is a subscription service that provides customers with “a monthly box of geek & gamer gear”. Several plans are offered, from a single month to a year of continuous crates. The crate for March was Covert themed, and included several ‘spy-themed’ items.

Easily the best item in this month’s crate is the “This is stirred…” James Bond shirt. Aside from that, the crate also features an Orphan Black Loot Crate-exclusive comic, a “stealth wrist watch”, several booklets and manuals, a free comic voucher, and a spy-themed Mad Libs. All in all, it has some pretty cool stuff.
