Batman v Superman – Trailer 2 Fan Edit

Thursday, December 3rd, 2015

The newest Batman v Superman trailer does a decent job of hyping up the movie, however it also spoils some crucial plot points, as most modern trailers do. In that regard, this fan trailer does a much better job of keeping the tone of the original Trailer 2 without the spoilers, so if you haven’t already watched the original, stick with this one.

Luke Skywalker Kill Count Supercut

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

I’ve shown a few kill count supercut videos featuring action stars such as Van Damme and Schwarzenegger, but they have nothing on Luke Skywalker, the Jedi with a kill count of over 369,000, and yes, that does include the Death Star. Anyone want to take a guess on how many more victims he’ll rack up in Episode VII?

Scarface’s ‘Little Friend’ Up For Auction

Saturday, November 14th, 2015

Little Friend

The prop M203 used in the movie Scarface by Tony Montana is now available for auction. The launcher is a custom job, individually hand crafted by the studio prop department with an extra-large trigger guard and wider ribbing on the barrel than an actual M203. After Scarface, the prop M203 was used in several other productions, with Predator being a notable example.

The launcher is connected to a non-firing replica Colt AR15, identical to the live firing gun used in most of the gunfire sequences. Originally, an M16A1 was used, however Scarface cinematographer John Alonzo determined “that the AR15’s firing sequence could be timed to synchronize with the Arriflex cameras, which would result in elongating the duration of muzzle flashes seen on film.” Cool stuff.

The prop launcher/rifle combo is currently at $13,000, with a starting bid of $10,000, and an estimated ending bid of $20,000 – $30,000. A bit too rich for my blood, but an iconic bit of cinema history regardless.

In case you were wondering, there’s an almost 40% chance I’m a replicant.

HARDCORE – Official Trailer

Saturday, September 12th, 2015

HARDCORE is an action movie, but shot entirely in first person through the eyes of the protagonist. Looks a bit disorienting, but pretty cool all the same.

Monty Python And The Holy Grail 40th Anniversary Castle Catapult Blu-Ray Set

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

Fetchez le vache

“Fetchez le vache!”

The 40th Anniversary of Monty Python and the Holy Grail will soon be upon us, and in celebration, Monty Python is releasing a special Blu-Ray box set. The set contains new artwork by Terry Gilliam, the 30-minute “Monty Python and the Holy Grail at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival” featurette, a Q&A with Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, John Cleese and Eric Idle, hosted by John Oliver and recorded live at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, exclusive introductory letters from Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, and, perhaps best of all, collectible castle packaging with real catapult action and rubber farm animals.

I dunno if the set is Amazon exclusive, but that’s where the link provided by the official Monty Python YouTube channel goes to, so it’s the link I’m using: www.amazon.com/dp/B013P0WZVS

Fantastic Four (1994) Trailer

Monday, August 10th, 2015

Rather than waste your money watching the terrible Fant4stic AKA ‘the cruddy Fantastic Four movie Fox had to make to retain the film rights’, you can watch the ‘hilariously under budgeted Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie that had to be made to retain the film rights’ on YouTube for free, just look around. Here’s the trailer to give you an idea of what you’re up for, should you choose to watch it.

Deadpool Red Band Trailer (NSFW)

Wednesday, August 5th, 2015

The Deadpool red band trailer premiered on Conan last night, but now it’s available to the general public. They cut a tiny bit of from the original SDCC presentation, but it’s still largely the same trailer, and it’s awesome.

Deadpool – Trailer Trailer

Monday, August 3rd, 2015

The Deadpool trailer is coming out tomorrow, so 20th Century Fox released this “trailer trailer” for the upcoming trailer. I think it sets the mood pretty well for what to expect from the final product.

Rest In Peace, Rowdy Roddy Piper

Saturday, August 1st, 2015

For those who don’t know, Roderick “Roddy” George Toombs, better known by his professional name Rowdy Roddy Piper, passed away in his sleep yesterday in his Hollywood home. Although TFB has some knowledge of his wrestling career, we know him best for his ionic role as John Nada in the 1988 sci-fi classic, They Live. As such, we’re reposting one of many iconic scenes from that film, and in our opinion the greatest fight scene ever put to cinema:

New Spectre Trailer

SDCC 2015 – Official Suicide Squad Trailer

Monday, July 13th, 2015

Surprise, surprise! The Suicide Squad trailer got leaked from Comic-Con, prompting Warner Bros. to officially release it.

Anyway, I’m actually liking this quite a bit more than the Batman v. Superman trailer, and although I still think Leto’s Joker’s appearance is a bit off, the acting looks to be spot-on.

As an aside, the Deadpool trailer also got leaked, and although I won’t be linking it here, you can find it with a bit of Google-fu. It’s absolutely perfect in every way, and takes a lot of cues from the script that was leaked a couple of years back; even Colossus is in it! Ryan Reynolds tweeted that it will see an official release in about 3 weeks, because they have to finalize the VFX first, but other sources state it’ll be up later this week. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Batman v. Superman Comic-Con Trailer

Sunday, July 12th, 2015

Even more so now that this trailer is out, I can’t see Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, I just see Ben Affleck. The darker Batman is kinda neat, though. And “Lex” has too much hair.

SDCC 2015 – WETA Workshop

Thursday, July 9th, 2015

WETA’s booth is chockfull of models and statues from some of their most popular projects, along with a few new things.

There’s this display of props from the upcoming Krampus, appropriately enough releasing thos holiday season.

There’s also a few sets of Alliance armor from the upcoming Warcraft movie, which if this setup is any indication will at the very least be a visually impressive film.

SDCC 2015 – DC Booth – Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice Costumes

Thursday, July 9th, 2015

At the DC comics booth, there are displays of the costumes from the upcoming Batman versus Superman movie. Above is an image of the armored suit Batman will wear when facing off against Superman, inspired by the suit worn by Batman in the Dark Knight Returns. Also featured at the booth are the standard Batsuit, Superman’s outfit, and Wonder Woman’s outfit.

Daredevil – Elektra Fight Scene

Wednesday, July 8th, 2015

I wanted to start out my journey to SDDC with a terrible scene from a terrible comic book movie best forgotten: Daredevil.

A few things to note:

1) Yes, it’s even worse than you remember.
2) This is the guy who’s playing Batman.
3) Thankfully, there’s a far superior Daredevil series on Netflix to bleach your eyes with after watching this travesty…

Apemania – ‘Planet Of The Apes’ 10/22 Tribute Stock

Friday, July 3rd, 2015

1968_1022_04_TITLED

Make-up & Monsters Studios, under their ‘Apemania – A tribute to Planet of the Apes’ line, has produced a limited number of tribute stocks based on the gorilla carbine featured in the 1968 film ‘Planet of the Apes’, fitted for a Ruger 10/22 receiver and barrel. Pretty damn cool, although that extended magazine well looks like it might make loading smaller capacity magazines a bit of a chore.

They also offer a tribute stock fitted for an M1 Carbine, based on the carbine featured in ‘Beneath the Planet of the Apes’.
