FAIRFAX, Va. – The 2017 NRA Carry Guard Expo Concealed Carry Fashion Show is scheduled for Friday, August 25, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Fashion Show will showcase the Expo’s top concealed carry products and demonstrate the features and benefits to an audience of firearm enthusiasts and industry media. The audience will vote for their top three favorite concealed carry products at the event’s conclusion.

This unique event at the NRA Carry Guard Expo is sponsored by 5.11 Tactical and CrossBreed Holsters and will feature more than 50 products from 20 manufacturers. Both male and female models will walk the runway, showcasing products ranging from conventional pistol holsters and accessories to concealed carry purses, bags, and much more.

G2 Research 12ga RIP Round

World’s Deadliest 12 Gauge Round

Winder, GA, August 9, 2017, G2 Research’s NEW extreme performance self-defense 12 gauge round.

In development for over three years by G2 Research this new high-performance 12 gauge self-defense round will hit the market this Fall. The all brass 303-grain individually machined CNC slug is designed for incredible performance against soft targets.

First of all the G2 slug is 0.725-inch in diameter (about a quarter inch larger than a .50 cal. Bullet). When combined with the proven G2 Research R.I.P. technology which releases six trocars (large metal petals) into the target the result is incredible and instant devastation.

Upon impact the six trocars will open, detach and independently spread through the target some 6-inches wide delivering 9-11 inches of penetration resulting in massive damage and shock. The .70 caliber base of the slug will continue forward for another 5-6 inches.

Recoil is greatly reduced due to the lightweight all brass 303 grain slug.

The $49.99 price for five-rounds is painful but this is not intended for shooting at tin cans and cinder blocks. The typical scenario is the average person will go to the range and launch a round or two at a target of some type and load the remainder into their gun for the time should the need arise.

    • IMPORTANT NOTES: This round is designed for self-defense only and has a true effective performance expansion range of 10 yards. Several reasons for this: Much beyond that range the slug will begin to yaw which can affect correct strike angle for it to open as designed. Beyond the design distance of 10 yards it will still do massive damage however.

    Second, it is not designed to be used for hunting, sporting or barrier penetration–it is designed for self-defense. Self-defense means just that and it is difficult to convince a jury that self-defense much past 30 feet really is self-defense.

    Will it penetrate hard objects such as doors, walls, etc.? Of course but it may not expand as designed and, shooting through doors and walls presents a difficult legal case of self-defense in court.

    This round must NOT be fired in guns with rifling, compensators, chokes or modified barrel cylinders, etc. The only type of barrel safely used is a modern smooth bore riot type shotgun barrel.

(SAAMI®), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), as well as rigorous testing protocols for global military and law enforcement agencies.

    The design of the SIG SAUER P320 overcomes the most significant safety concern in striker-fired pistols today: the practice of pressing the trigger for disassembly. This can be performed with a round in the chamber which has resulted in numerous incidents of property damage, physical injury, and death. The disassembly process of the P320, however, uses a take-down lever rather than pressing the trigger, eliminating the possibility of discharge during the disassembly process.

    Recent events indicate that dropping the P320 beyond U.S. standards for safety may cause an unintentional discharge.

    Wounded Veterans Participate In Therapeutic Bear Hunts Thanks To Hope For The Warriors

    IDAHO (July 25, 2017) – Thanks to the national nonprofit Hope For The Warriors and its Outdoor Adventures program, six combat wounded veterans recently participated in three, multi-day, bear hunts South of Lewiston, Idaho along the Selway River.

    Hope For The Warriors’ Outdoor Adventures program provides adaptive opportunities for wounded heroes to participate in sporting activities in the great outdoors. Service members, who previously embraced an outdoorsman lifestyle, as well as those new to traditional outdoor sports, are introduced to recreational opportunities on the road to recovery.

    Led by Hope For The Warriors Director of Outdoor Adventure and retired Marine, Ken Sutherby, each hunt aimed to enable wounded veterans with a challenge, introduce a sense of camaraderie with other veterans and provide a source of food for each hunter’s family. In addition, the experience encourages healing and aims to revitalize each veteran by proving he/she are capable and can be independent, regardless of injuries.

    Sutherby shares why this experience is so beneficial to veterans, “Hunting is a therapeutic avenue for many veterans. Often, veterans are experiencing extreme social isolation as they assimilate to post-combat life resulting in declining self-worth as they evaluate their current lifestyle compared to their former military life. Therefore, they are excited with the challenge and placed back in a position of leadership and trust as they alone are responsible for the outcome.

    “In addition, as we make the long drives up the mountain roads or sit around the camp fire, the hunts provide a chance to address any and all areas of conflict in their lives and communicate with other wounded veterans who have experienced the same effects of combat and have fought the same battle to recovery,” adds Sutherby.

    San Antonio, Texas-based Army Master Sergeant Raymond Soto shares what this experience meant to him. “Attending the bear hunt was a therapeutic and great time spent with other wounded veterans, said Soto.

    “With its never ending distractions, life moves too fast and spending time with other combat veterans in a peaceful quiet place like Idaho was what I needed. Sharing memories and knowing that we all carry some sort of continuous pain, emotional and/or physical, it’s always a therapeutic experience when we get together and feel that bond that we all miss.

    “In addition, I spent 11.5 hours in a tree stand with no cell phone service or internet so it allowed me to enjoy the peaceful outdoors reflecting on my deployments and those brothers that are no longer with us. I needed the time; being completely alone and just remembering,” adds Soto.

    Hope For The Warriors created the Outdoor Adventures Program in 2010 to provide adaptive opportunities for wounded heroes to participate in sporting activities in the great outdoors. In 2012, the organization recognized the therapeutic benefits for the family members and expanded the program to include spouses and children of wounded and fallen service members.

    Bushnell Offers New Purpose-Built AR Optics

    OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – July 14, 2017 – Bushnell, an industry leader in high-performance optical solutions for more than 65 years, has extended its popular AR Optics line with four additional sights that are each optimized for the modern sporting rifle.

    Bushnell’s line of AR Optics is already the category leader for MSRs. New this year, the AR Optics line has grown with the release of two new purpose-built, caliber-specific riflescopes, the cutting-edge Accelerate 3x prism sight and the ambidextrous Transition 3x Magnifier.

    Gas guns like MSRs are well-suited for compact optics. Yet red dots don’t offer the magnification sometimes needed to reach downrange. The gray area between these two options isn’t so gray with the new Bushnell AR Optics Accelerate 4X Prism Scope. It has the compact stature of a red dot with the 4x magnification of a riflescope. The new, illuminated BTR-3 reticle in the Accelerate offers five brightness settings in both red and green. The center circle and red dot work together for quick acquisition, with drop points for long range shots. The mil-based design works with any caliber firearm.

    Rounding out the new additions is the AR Optics Transition 3X Magnifier. Simply mount it behind a red dot optic with the ambidextrous flip mount.     Shell Shock Technologies Launches ShellTech, Announces Plant Opening in Kentucky

    ShellTech, a new subsidiary of Shell Shock Technologies, will open high-volume ammunition casings plant, creating 50 new jobs, in Eubank, Kentucky, manufacturing Shell Shock’s NAS3 cases.

    Westport, Conn. (June 2017) – Shell Shock Technologies, LLC., an early stage technology and manufacturing company focused on developing innovative case technologies for the ammunition industry, is pleased to announce the launch of its newly formed high-volume manufacturing subsidiary, ShellTech. The new manufacturing plant will open in Pulaski County in Eubank, Kentucky, focusing on the manufacture of Shell Shock Technologies’ NAS3 cases. With an investment of approximately $3.2 million, ShellTech aims to create 50 new full-time jobs within Pulaski County.

    ShellTech will assemble NAS3 cases under a long-term contract from its parent company. The 14,000-square foot facility was previously used for the contract-manufacturing and loading of all SIG SAUER ammunition. ShellTech will begin by assembling Shell Shock Technologies’ popular 9mm cases, but will soon add 5.56 mm, .308, .45 ACP, 380 and .40 S&W cases, along with an assortment of other popular pistol and rifle calibers.

    Team SIG Member Lena Miculek Brings Home Gold

    Miculek Earns Multiple First Place Finishes at IPSC Rifle World Shoot in Russia

    Newington, N.H. (June 21, 2017) – SIG SAUER, Inc. announces that Team SIG member Lena Miculek recently earned multiple top finishes during the first ever International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Rifle World Shoot. Held at Moscow’s Patriot Park in Kubinka, the Rifle World Shoot consisted of 591 competitors from 40 nations who competed in 30 stages over the course of a week. It is the highest-level rifle match within IPSC.

    “For the action shooting sports community, this is our Olympics,” said Lena Miculek. “I was lucky to make the Ladies Open Team alongside Ashley Rheuark, Maggie Reese and my mother Kay Miculek. Through crazy weather and intense competition, the Ladies Open Team came out on top!”

    In addition to the team victory, Miculek battled through illness to claim multiple individual titles, including the Ladies Open shootoff and 1st place in the Ladies Open division. Using a SIGM400 Predator and SIG Elite Performance ammo, she also reached her goal of placing in the top 20 overall in the world, beating out many of the world’s finest competitors, including her father, shooting legend Jerry Miculek. After a week of competition, the Louisiana native returned home with a pair of 1st place trophies and five gold medals.

    “It was an incredible experience to represent the United States at the IPSC Rifle World Shoot,” said Miculek. “Competing against the world’s finest shooters was very humbling. Standing on the podium and hearing our National Anthem play was an experience beyond words.”
