Maxim Defense DSX-D: Duty Suppressor System

Tuesday, May 24th, 2022

The DSX-D Duty Suppressor System from Maxim Defense was built to optimize quiet performance in a suppressed weapon system. It provides superior direct thread suppression to weapons chambered in 5.56, 7.62, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

Duty is built for the world’s most rigorous demands; this suppressor is designed to be the most robust and strongest suppressor in the category. It has been repeatedly tested with SOCOM tables across various calibers and barrel lengths, down to 8.5″ 5.56 NATO with M855 ball ammunition. It has survived with no damage or significant changes in sound reduction.

DSX-D

DSX-D: Duty Suppressor System

The DSX-D Duty Suppressor was explicitly designed to minimize the violent cyclic rate and gas blowback of a suppressed weapon system like the AR15.

The suppressor consists of a three-piece MonoKore design that adds 7.25″ to the muzzle of your rifle. It is rated for full-auto (with an 8.5″ barrel restriction) in the following calibers:

►  5.56mm

►  7.62mm

►  6.5 Creedmoor

  • Increase reliability and longevity with host firearms due to low gas blowback and low gain in host weapon cyclic rate compared to other more traditional suppressor designs.
  • Drops sound to well below hearing safe levels. The specific reduction amount is based on weapon configuration, ammunition, barrel length, and atmospheric conditions.¹
  • Decreases flash, decreases recoil, increases accuracy.
  • Fully and easily serviceable.
  • Disassembles with common tools.

SB Tactical: Proposed ATF Regulations Nothing More Than Registration Scheme

Thursday, December 17th, 2020

Bradenton, Fla. (December 17, 2020) – SB Tactical® learned on December 16 of the ATF’s plan to publish their proposed ‘Objective Factors for Classifying Weapons with Stabilizing Braces’ guidance on www.federalregister.gov/d/2020-27857, which will be open for comment on Friday, December 18, 2020 until January 1, 2021.

Our hope was that ATF would finally take transparent action to provide clear criteria for brace equipped pistols, that would give manufacturers and consumers a way to see if products met ATF’s shifting expectations. Instead, the document is a thinly veiled blueprint for the largest firearm registration–and ultimately potentially confiscation– scheme in U.S. history.

The factors identified by the ATF for its possible use in classification include type, caliber, weight and length, how the gun is marketed, length of pull, sights and scopes, peripheral accessories mounted, and rear surface area of the brace, among others. While the factors listed are arbitrary and open-ended, the truly onerous part of the proposal is that no definitions of the factors are provided.

The grotesque inadequacies of this document render this “guidance” worse than meaningless. By stating that “no single factor or combination of factors is necessarily dispositive,” the regulated public is left guessing. Which calibers are ok? What is the weight or length of pull limit? What accessories can be mounted on a pistol? By failing to define the criteria, the ATF is codifying its holistic “we’ll know it when we see it” approach to determinations that create confusion and serve as little more than a power grab. It does nothing other than create uncertainty and confirm that ATF does not want to be held accountable. It claims limitless power to assess products under a “holistic” approach that gives the agency maximum discretion and Americans minimum protection.

This proposed guidance says that it does not have the effect and force of law . . . yet. SB Tactical®, in conjunction with the Firearms Regulatory Accountability Coalition, Inc., (FRAC), and the National Rifle Association, will continue to work tirelessly with congressional leadership, the White House, and the Department of Justice to ensure that legal gun owners’ rights and the rights of manufacturers are not in jeopardy. We believe that the White House is considering weighing in on this issue, but they will not do so unless we make our voices heard. The time is now to come together as a community of gun owners, retailers, and manufacturers to demand that President Trump preserve our Second Amendment rights.

This is our last chance to get this administration to intervene. We strongly urge you to contact the White House to demand they take swift action to stop and reverse ATF’s efforts to issue arbitrary and capricious decisions affecting millions of legal gun owners.

Additionally, once the guidance formally posts to the Federal Register on Friday, December 18, we encourage you to submit commentary to the ATF and express your frustration and confusion. This is important to ensure a full record before the agency and any later court that reviews this issue. But, because the ATF seems to want to limit participation in this proceeding, it has created complicated rules and deadlines. To submit comments in the DOJ proceeding you will need to follow the instructions below. Comments that do not follow the below instructions, will not be considered.

DUE DATE: Written comments must be postmarked by, and electronic comments must be submitted on or before January 1, 2021 by midnight Eastern time.

Commenters who do not want their name or other personal identifying information posted on the Internet should submit comments by mail or facsimile, along with a separate cover sheet containing their personal identifying information. Both the cover sheet and comment must reference this docket number (ATP 2020R-10).

Comments that contain excessive profanity will not be considered or responded to.

SUBMISSIONS: Starting December 18, you may submit comments in one of three ways:

Competitors Unite for A Girl & A Gun’s Fall Festival

Tuesday, October 16th, 2018

AUSTIN — A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) hosted its 2018 AG & AG Fall Festival on Oct 2-7, 2018. Fall Fest comprised three shooting events: one two-day training course, a two-day three-gun match, and a one-day pistol match at Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, Kentucky.

“A Girl & A Gun Fall Fest is the most remarkable experience,” said Dianna Muller, professional shooter. “So much growth from the women who come to this match, for some, their first match ever!!” For 41 participants, Fall Fest was only their first or second major match. To help them navigate the stages, every squad was led by a pro with the help of a Squad Mom, who is a traveling Range Officer (RO) that shoots with their squads, helps competitors prepare for the stages, keeps the squads on time, assists stage ROs with tasks, and serves as a go-to staff member if competitors need help. This structure is indicative of the AG & AG culture — the stages and skills are tough, while the community is kind and supportive.

The Fall Fest events began with 3-Gun University Presented by TROY Industries, two days of clinics with professional shooters. On Tuesday and Wednesday, 35 participants attended rifle sight-in, rifle positions, chrono/ballistic data, pistol skills, rifle skills, and shotgun skills clinics with Tina Martin, Dianna Muller, Janna Reeves, Cindy DeSplinter, Ursula Williams, Beth Walker, and Dakota Overland. These classes gave students time to work with pros to hone their skills for the match. Participants also had guided stage walk-throughs to help them develop their strategies for tackling stages in the multigun match.

The Brownells Ladies Multigun Championship was a two-day three-gun match that took place on Friday and Saturday. Squads comprised 120 competitors and staff that shot 8 challenging stages designed by Bryan Corry. The division winners were:

Open: Dianna Muller
Tac Ops: Dakota Overland
2×4: Lena Miculek
Limited: Rhonda Allen
2-Gun: Laurel Walters

The SIG SAUER Ladies Handgun Championship was a one-day USPSA-style pistol match with eight fun stages designed by Rick VanBlaricum. Lena Miculek was the overall winner out of 92 competitors. The division winners were:

Production: Ashley Rheuark
Limited: Dianna Muller
PCC: Lena Miculek
Open: Cassie Beahr
Carry Optics: Denise Katz
Single Stack: Susan Maurer

Throughout the week, participants and guests were able to meet with vendors and sponsors. SIG SAUER instructor Tina Perrone offered demos of the new SIG SAUER P365 pistol and 365 ammunition. Phillip Goldsmith from GLOCK led individuals through a GSSF course of fire with the new GLOCK 45, and Tony Pignato from STI International facilitated a team 3-woman challenge using the new STI Staccato pistol. Tracy Barnes from Check Outside provided rental equipment for some of the stages. Stag Arms offered demos of their rifles and some full-auto fun. JP Precision, Ranger Proof, U.S. Law Shield, PrimEar, and Zero In were on site to showcase their products.

Fall Fest included two draw-dropping prizes tables, random-draw prizes, and fantastic swag and gifts for participants! Thank you to sponsors SIG SAUER, Brownells, Troy, GLOCK, Red Stitch Targets, Savage, Stag Arms, Sentry, STI, Voodoo Tactical, JP Precision, Safariland, XS Sights, Ranger Proof, and all of the partners that gave support and prizes. Thank you to Rockcastle for hosting the amazing event.

NRA Carry Guard Expo in Richmond CANCELLED Ahead of Forecasted Landfall of Hurricane Florence

Monday, September 10th, 2018

RICHMOND, Va. –The National Rifle Association has cancelled the second annual NRA Carry Guard Expo, which was scheduled for Sept. 14-16, 2018 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, Virginia, due to the impending threat of severe weather associated with Hurricane Florence.

The cancellation was made in the interest of public safety due to the forecasted arrival of Category 4 Hurricane Florence in the mid-Atlantic region this forthcoming weekend, and the resulting declaration of a State of Emergency by the Governor of Virginia. This decision required careful deliberation and concern for the safety of attendees, exhibitors and others involved with the event.

Customers who purchased event tickets or tickets to paid workshops will receive refunds for their purchases.

Despite this major weather event being beyond human control, the NRA regrets any inconvenience caused by this decision. We look forward to welcoming guests and exhibitors next year to the 2019 NRA Carry Guard Expo, scheduled for Sept. 6-8, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas.

About the National Rifle Association

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. Six million members strong, NRA continues its mission to uphold Second Amendment rights and is the leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the military. CMMG Unveils New Brand Logo

Tuesday, August 7th, 2018

Boonville, MO (8-7-18) – Over the course of its history, CMMG has established a reputation for its quality and innovative AR rifles, pistols and small parts. With the launch of the DefCan suppressor line-up earlier this year, CMMG expanded its presence beyond the AR category. As part of a larger rebranding initiative, CMMG is pleased to unveil its new brand logo, to which the company will transition going into 2019.

“Our entire team at CMMG is excited to roll out the new brand logo. It’s indicative of how much CMMG has grown since the beginning. Over that time, we’ve worked tirelessly to expand and enhance our product line-up, along with further strengthening our in-house manufacturing and engineering capabilities. This new brand logo is a reflection of that growth and the bright future ahead,” said Chris Reinkemeyer, CEO of CMMG.

CMMG was established in 2002 by the Overstreet family and currently maintains its factory and headquarters in Boonville, Missouri. Early on, the company focused on building high-quality AR15 rifles and parts in a growing and changing AR market. As the business grew, CMMG expanded its focus to include a greater emphasis on innovation and engineering.

In 2010, CMMG patented and released its first .22LR AR Conversion Kit for the AR15. The kits have continued to evolve over the years and remain a top seller to this day.

In 2014, CMMG launched its Mk47 rifle, which was a new mid-sized AR rifle chambered in the iconic 7.62x39mm round and fed from standard AK magazines. At the heart of the Mk47 was CMMG’s POWERBOLT, which features a larger, more durable AR10-sized bolt face to accommodate the wider 7.62x39mm case. The design won multiple awards for rifle of the year and quickly became CMMG’s flagship rifle.

Following the success of the Mk47, CMMG brought the benefits of the POWERBOLT to other calibers by adding a standard AR15 magwell to the Mid-size platform and releasing the MkW-15 chambered in .458 SOCOM in 2016, and 6.5 Grendel in 2017.

In 2017, CMMG released the MkG platform chambered in .45 ACP. At the heart of the platform was CMMG’s patented Radial Delayed Blowback operating system, which uses a bolt that is forced to rotate and unlock, slowing the bolt carrier group enough to safely cycle. The benefits of Radial Delayed Blowback are most evident in the reduction of weight in the carrier and buffer. Not only does this system mean you have a lighter rifle, the felt recoil is noticeably less than on a straight blowback system. CMMG has already added additional offerings utilizing the Radial Delayed Blowback system, including the MkGs in 9mm and Mk57 in 5.7x28mm, and more offerings may be on the horizon.

With a strong commitment to bringing true innovation to the industry, keep an eye on CMMG for exciting new releases in the coming years.

Canada’s Premium Tactical Manufacturer Announces European Expansion

Monday, July 9th, 2018

The Requirements Group (TRG) European headquarters will be in the Netherlands

TORONTO, July 9, 2018 (Newswire.com) – With tremendous success in North America, the leading developer and manufacturer of premium tactical and outdoors products, The Requirements Group (TRG) is expanding to the European market to provide premium Canadian grade tactical and air-soft garments and accessories, launching its European headquarters officially in the Netherlands as of July 9, 2018.

Recently the tactical and outdoors equipment market has been flooded with low grade, unreliable products as a result of many manufacturers turning to factories in China with no experience in tactical products. This move has neglected the end user’s comfort and safety. The Requirements Group (TRG) sees this as an opportunity to turn around the market and deliver to the tactical professionals and outdoors consumers premium products which have been designed and tested by active and veteran tactical police, military and SAR (search & rescue) operators. All the requirements of the products are based on real-life experience of tactical and special forces operators.

With its two flagship brands; Shadow Elite and Shadow Strategic, TRG will be able to serve both the agency and civilian markets. Having its own factory allows TRG to source and manufacture products the way they are meant to be. Having the ability to regulate strict quality control is what the company prides itself on. Reducing production costs by not outsourcing to third-party factories passes on the savings of premium products to the customer.

“We are not your typical garment manufacturer. Tactical police and military work is in our bloodstream. Unlike other manufacturers who start off in regular outerwear and then see an opportunity in the tactical and air-soft world, we stick to what has been second nature to us for the past 80 plus years in combined experience,” says Glen Turpin, retired police officer, tactical expert and co-founder of The Requirements Group. “We are fortunate enough to have on our team, veteran and active frontline police and military operators who design and test the kit our end users wear and trust. As well as expert search & rescue (SAR) technicians testing the load bearing and rigging components of our kit. It would not be fair to the end user to have the products manufactured in a factory that one day produces load bearing tactical vests, and the next day dolls or nail clippers. This is why we invested so much into building our own factory where our dedicated expert workers and engineers focus on tactical kit every single day.”

Another benefit TRG has with its own factory, is the ability to service large agencies and tactical teams by customizing uniforms and equipment with specific technical and camouflage pattern requirements.

About the Requirements Group: The Requirements Group (TRG) is a law enforcement veteran owned and operated company. Based in Canada, it has expanded its distribution to hundreds of locations across North America. Its two leading brands are Shadow Elite and Shadow Strategic.

Shadow Elite products are engineered and built with the safety, comfort and demands of front line personnel in mind.

Shadow Strategic products are intended as an entry line. Quality products with lighter weight materials and less complex technical components.

With these two product lines, TRG can serve both the professional agency clients, as well as outdoor and airsoft enthusiasts.

Springfield Armory Severs Ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods

Thursday, May 3rd, 2018

GENESEO, IL, (05/03/18) – Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying.

This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution.

It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.

James Yeager Wants You To Help Him Launch YeagerTUBE

Sunday, December 17th, 2017

As many of you may know, James Yeager has been banned by YouTube. To be sure, Yeager is a controversial figure in the firearms business. Some consider his banning is a blow to free speech while others feel that he brought it on himself. Regardless, we have to acknowledge that YouTube and other major social media platforms have become central to modern communications. Not many alternatives exist. Yeager recognized this and has developed a plan to create his own video hosting platform which he initially called YeagerTUBE, noting, “I am looking to build a free speech oasis in a sea of left wing censorship.”
