Master leathersmith David Vigil has crafted this impressive gun holster for Vigilante Leather, inspired by the one used by Nathan Drake in the PS3-exclusive ‘Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception’. The design closely matches the in-game model in both metalwork and the dye job used to treat the leather; a model dyed in black with gunmetal-colored metalwork is also available upon request. 8 buckles, 2 to each strap, allow for easy fitting, with an option for custom fitting if required. Additionally, every holster is waterproofed and stress tested, insuring full functionality in any situation. Simply put, it’s a piece that’s usable for way more than just cosplay.
From Gear Up Center, makers of The Grovel, comes The NAX. The NAX is an amalgamation of a Kukri knife, machete, and hatchet, designed with input from Special Forces soldiers, expert preppers, and survival gear aficionados. Comprised of 4140 Chromoly steel, which is 35% stronger than 1040 steel, and featuring a 550 wrapped handle which doubles as a capable survival material in a pinch, the NAX is a rugged and durable survival tool.
Available for pre-order from Gear Up Center for 219 USD.
Arnold’s back in 2013! Well, he’s in the Expendables 2, but that’s like the supergroup of action movies, and this is more akin to a revival solo act. Anyway, Arnold plays a small town Sherrif brought in to terminate (I couldn’t resist) a notorious cartel that’s overrun the local law enforcement. Looks like there’s also the obligatory hot action woman and a crazy prepared nutjob to help round out the cast; looks promising.
Looking for a more practical application for all those NERF guns you obviously bought after reading about them on this site (besides nailing every living thing within your immediate area with foam darts on a regular basis)? Then you have the option of picking up a NERF Shoot to Snooze alarm clock. One well placed shot to the target area is the only way to activate the clock’s snooze function, giving any foam dart marksman a few more minutes of rest. Other features include: LCD screen with backlight, nightlight, and 12/24 hour functionality, and date and temperature display.
Batman: Puppet Master is a fan film depicting events that occur between ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. The short film introduces classic villains Mr. Zazas, The Ventriloquist and Scarface, and Edward Nigma, AKA The Riddler, who’s been reimagined as an FBI agent brought in to capture Batman. It has a few elements of the Knightfall storyline, primarily die to Nigma’s plan to wear out Batman with a crime wave before trying to unmask his identity. Not everyone about the casting and writing is perfect, primarily Batman, but it’s a great idea that’s full of potential. I’d love to see the story progress through additional films.
I’m sure you know about the Internet Movie Database, or imdb.com, another one of those internet time sinks that has information on almost every movie ever along with almost every actor ever, the parts they’ve played, etc. Since this is the internet, where just about any damn thing can be found, and copycats are common, somebody made a similar site in the form of a Wiki, but with firearms as the primary focus instead of movies and actors, even calling it the internet movie firearm database. On the site, you can look up what movies, television shows, and video games a firearm has been in, what firearms a movie, television show, or video game has featured, and even what firearms and in what show/movie/video game an actor has used.
It’s pretty exhaustive, which makes games of 6-degrees-of-a-Beretta-92F all the easier to play.
The Inheritance Collection the creation of one Stephen Kenn, who is selling them on his site. Each piece in the collection is constructed using salvaged WWII-era military fabric surplus; seen above is the couch, loveseat, and single chair with ottoman. Some of the pieces are far from cheap, but man are they cool looking!
Joerg Sprave of The Slingshot Channel proves once again that with a bit of ingenuity, wood, and rubber bands, one can make a slingshot for just about any occasion and purpose, including this ‘Jack-of-most-trades’ Blunderbuss Slingshot. Like it’s namesake, the Blunderbuss Slingshot is muzzle loading and designed to launch many kinds of (properly-sized) projectiles: wooden blocks, aerosol cans, stones, etc., thanks to a 150 lb. draw weight chord. Great from everything from marking a path to safety to quietly disposing of the living dead. And the best part? Ammo is virtually limitless! Unless, of course, you somehow manage to run out of rubble or something similar… or a band snaps and you don’t have a replacement… it’s still pretty damn cool.
Peer Kreuger of Vayamenda.com created these amazing motorized LEGO models of the black and camo Tumblers and The Bat (which doesn’t actually fly) from The Dark Knight Trilogy. Additionally, he’s put them up to the CUUSOO process where there’s a chance they could become actual LEGO sets: The Bat and The Tumbler.
NERF has upped their dart launcher game with the latest release in the N-Strike line, the Hail-Fire Blaster. Powered by 4 AA batteries, the Hail-Fire’s electronically-assisted semi-auto action can launch the new blue colored Elite darts upwards of 75 feet. Additionally, thanks to the unique rotating loading mechanism up to 144 darts can be loaded into the Hail-Fire because it’s designed to hold up to 8 18-dart “quick reload clips” (dart magazines). Of course, the obligatory top and under-barrel tactical rails allow for the use of accessories, such as sights and grips. The only issue? The Hail-Fire comes standard with only 4 mags and 24 darts, so additional purchases are most definitely necessary to take advantage of its full potential.
It’s also worth mentioning that the official release date of this blaster is September 9th, 2012, although some stores got a soft release and if one’s willing to pay a slight premium, it’s also available on Amazon.
For those not in the know, Ironskull Fitness is a company that sells custom skull-inspired kettlebells, 100% made in the USA. Their latest addition to their product line is the 62 lb Skullbell. Unlike the other kettlebells available from Ironskull, the Skullbell is completely modeled after an actual human skull, giving it an irregular shape which makes it more appropriate for 2-handed swings than for cleans and snatches. The Skullbell also features a “Gunshot entry wound on front and exit wound on the back with handle exploding through skull”, a nice little design addition if I do say so myself.
The Voodoo Hawk from SOG Specialty Knives & Tools is a combination of their tactical Tomahawk and FastHawk, featuring an extended cutting head, smaller compact glass-reinforced nylon handle, and metal butt cap. The new design also features a special edition London Bridge Trading Company sheath in Honor Camo.
In October, SOG Specialty Knives & Tools will be releasing a limited edition 500 piece run of the Voodoo Hawk. They will be numbered and engraved with the Mako unit crest and include a SOG patch.
GET THIS – 100% of the proceeds from all 500 pieces will be donated to Project Honor!
Man, this trailer is showing the best multiplayer for CoD yet!
That’s also the same thing I said when I saw the previous multiplayer trailers for every Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 2. Granted, it does look amazing (that’s what trailers are for, after all), and the graphics are looking pretty spiffy, but I already know I’ll like the game for roughly a month, then only jump on it occasionally until the next CoD is announced and released. It’s a vicious cycle, I know. Then again, future weapons and killstreaks and a reworked create-a-class system could prove me wrong.
BladeX5 gloves are composed of a cut and slash resistant blend of nylon, lycra, glass, and HPPE fibers that is 4 times stronger than leather and more flexible than a steel mesh alternative. Their cut protection is rated at level 5 by EN388/CE standards. Available in sizes medium to extra large.
The Hammermaxx Combination Tool is an amalgamation of 14 different tools: axe, hammer, spanner wrench, windshield cutter, rappelling ring, gas shut-off, water shut-off, battery disconnect, dry wall cutter, forcible entry, hinge remover, pry bar, stortz latch opener, and hood remover. This makes it great for everything from repair and rescue, to the time-honored tradition of smashing open a zombie’s skull! Weights 7 lbs. and is drop forged from 41-40 metal.
This is quite possibly the most rugged USB storage device yet conceived (well, with the case on, anyway). It’s drop resistant up to 100m, IP-54 certified for resistance to damage from dust and water projection, and heat and cold resistant. Additionally, the RuggedKey features a transfer speed up to 150MB/Sec and AES 256-bit data encryption.
Available in 16 and 32GB from LaCie.
This project by ‘A.F. 275 – Gun & Gear Blog’ is clearly the coolest non-licensed Nintendo accessory ever, a Kydex holster for the old-school Nintendo Zapper accessory. Stylish and quick on the draw to boot! Too bad it doesn’t give you the ability to shoot that damn taunting dog (in the Nintendo version, at least; at the arcade, however…).
This all-metal, ambidextrous AR-15 AEG features Milspec Monkey branding and actual Magpul PTS parts. Other features include electric blowback operation, 400 FPS (using .20G BBs) with a 200 ft range, Hop-Up unit integrated with the barrel, and realistic barrel disassembly.
As with all movies, good or bad, there has to be some related memorabilia for sale, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is no exception. Luckily, Hot Toys doesn’t disappoint with their series of highly-detailed scaled models of Batman, Bane, and the camouflage Tumbler/Batmobile. Aside from being completely badass looking, the camouflage tumbler features a roof panel that slides open and functioning headlights, requiring 3 AAA batteries. The good news? It’s available for pre-order! The bad news? It’s not being released until September 2013! By that point, The Dark Knight trilogy will already be available as a 3+ disk special edition Blu-ray/DVD combo pack in a collector’s box most likely shaped like the Tumbler. Then again, you can’t rush perfection.
Marudai has introduced this model RPG-7 that fires liquid-filled bottle rockets from what looks like pressure induced by a common bicycle pump. It retails for approximately $360 US, but as far as I know it’s only available in Japan; better find an importer if you want one of these.
HaveBlue of AR15.com has managed to create a working polymer AR-15 lower made from a 3D printer, specifically a mid 90’s Stratasys 3D printer. So far, the lower has been combined with a .22 LR upper, with over 200 rounds fired and no issues. A .556 upper was also used, with some feeding and extraction issues, however according to the creator this upper has also had problems with a standard aluminum lower.
A few other articles I’ve seen on this project have instantly jumped at the chance to (incorrectly) claim people now have the ability to create fully-functional firearms using just a 3D printer, so in the name of truth and fairness, I feel it’s important to mention that only the lower was created with the printer, not the trigger assembly and other required components.
