One Million Sold And Counting – Henry Repeating Arms Reaches Historic Milestone – Serial Number One-Million

December 19th, 2017

Iconic firearms manufacturer announces the production of the one-millionth Henry Lever Action .22 rifle in its 20th Anniversary year

BAYONNE, NJ – December 18, 2017 – Henry Repeating Arms, one of the leading firearms manufacturers in the United States announced that it has manufactured the one-millionth Lever Action .22 rifle- known as the model H001. As with all Henry firearms and any product that bears the Henry name, it is made in America and sold in over 30 countries worldwide.

The first Henry Lever Action .22 rifles started shipping in March of 1997 from their original factory in Brooklyn, New York. The model was introduced with the corporate motto, “Made in America and Priced Right.” The company moved production in September of 2008 to their current 110,000 sq. ft. facility in Bayonne, New Jersey. Over the years, several variations of the H001 were added including a youth model, a carbine with a large loop lever, octagon barreled editions, and additional calibers in .22 Magnum and .17 HMR. More than 2 million H001 series rifles have sold counting these variations. They are popular among firearms enthusiasts, in particular squirrel and varmint hunters, farmers, rimfire target shooters and “plinkers.” After 2 decades it still remains an exceptional value for consumers.

Anthony Imperato, President and owner of Henry Repeating Arms reminisces, “When I attended the SHOT Show in 1996 I displayed the prototype H001 on top of an 8-foot folding table. We didn’t have a big budget booth and it was a no-frills affair. I had no idea that it would go on to be a top seller, a staple of the firearms industry. My goal was to deliver value, quality, a smooth reliable action and of course, made in America.”

“This is the rifle that put Henry Repeating Arms on the map, energized the lever action market and resurrected the Henry name,” Imperato continues. “Hitting the one-million milestone validates that we have done something right. I couldn’t be more humbled by the incredible response and support Henry has received over the past two decades. I remain forever grateful to our customers, distributors, dealers and our employees.”
Auction will benefit organizations that support conservation, hunting, firearms safety, shooting sports programs and the 2nd Amendment

Recognizing the significance of Henry Repeating Arms’ milestone, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association of the firearms industry, selected the one-millionth H001 as the 2018 SHOT Show auction rifle. The historic gun is being auctioned now by the Hunting Heritage Trust on GunBroker.com and will conclude on Friday, January 26, 2018, the final day of the 2018 SHOT Show. All proceeds from the auction will fund organizations that support the shooting sports, hunting, conservation, firearms safety, and those who defend the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of firearms history. And we have decided to make this one-millionth H001 ever more special and unique,” added Imperato. “This is the first-ever H001 to feature a silver-finished receiver, which distinguishes the rifle, and beautifies the custom hand-engraved scroll patterns. The rich engraving is completed with inlaid 24-carat gold and is set off exquisitely by the exhibition grade American Walnut stock.” This unique rifle was hand engraved by the artisans at Baron Engraving of Trumbull, CT.

Henry Repeating Arms is aiming to surpass the SHOT Show auction record of $136,014. This one-of-one rifle is available for sale at a public auction on Gunbroker.com. The auction will conclude on January 26, 2018.

James Yeager Wants You To Help Him Launch YeagerTUBE

December 17th, 2017

As many of you may know, James Yeager has been banned by YouTube. To be sure, Yeager is a controversial figure in the firearms business. Some consider his banning is a blow to free speech while others feel that he brought it on himself. Regardless, we have to acknowledge that YouTube and other major social media platforms have become central to modern communications. Not many alternatives exist. Yeager recognized this and has developed a plan to create his own video hosting platform which he initially called YeagerTUBE, noting, “I am looking to build a free speech oasis in a sea of left wing censorship.”

D2FECFC2-CF82-476E-A912-8A885C77677B

The project has been renamed LiberTV with the project described as “WE are going to build a place where our freedom loving culture can share photos, articles, videos and podcasts. A place that doesn’t muzzle the voices of freedom and that cherishes our heritage.”

To make it a reality, he’s launched a Kickstarter campaign.

National Firearms Manufacturer Becomes the First to Accept Bitcoin for Purchases

December 16th, 2017

Alt title: Gun Manufacturer Now Allows Purchasers To Buy Their Wares Using Magical Internet Money With High Transaction Fees

Frontier Tactical, a disabled veteran owned company, is a manufacturer bringing innovation and modularity to the already market-proven AR-15 platform. “Departing From the Known”

Brooksville, Florida (December 2017) – Frontier Tactical announces the acceptance of cryptocurrency. The amazing response to the cryptocurrency trends has not been lost on the company leading innovation in the firearms industry. Arguments can be made that the shooting sports industry has been one of the slowest to harness new technologies. That image of the industry may soon change.

Frontier Tactical strongly believes that integrating new technology is only one of the ways that it maintains the edge on competitors. Their War Lock system had already set them far ahead of the industry; with the ability to upgrade AR-15’s to fire over 90 calibers.

In 2014, the media inaccurately reported that TrackingPoint was the first national firearms manufacturer to accept Bitcoin. In August, Nate Love (CEO of Frontier Tactical) contacted Ken D’Arcy (CEO of TrackingPoint) to learn more about their success with it. It was at that time, D’Arcy stated that to his knowledge (he was not CEO at the time), “TrackingPoint was considering Bitcoin a number of years ago but only looked briefly and decided against it.”

That spurred Frontier Tactical to pioneer the cryptocurrency path for their own company. Today, customers may choose Bitcoin as a payment method on www.frontiertactical.com. Frontier Tactical will be adding other cryptocurrencies (alt coins, or alternate coins) as they go forward with the digital currency.

Cryptocurrency is a form of digital money that is designed to work as a medium of exchange using cryptography to secure transactions. It is used outside banking and government and the process occurs over the internet. It is secure, anonymous and unaffected by politics. Since there is no exchange of money, processing payments happens fast and orders are processed rapidly. The most familiar form of cryptocurrency is Bitcoin, which was developed in 2009, and was the first decentralized cryptocurrency. By decentralized, there is no control such as with an electronic money or central banking system. Companies or governments cannot produce new units of currency. The balance of the “ledgers” is maintained by a community of mutually distrustful parties referred to as miners. Miners are members of the general public using their computer to validate and timestamp transactions within the cryptocurrency ledger. Within the United States, bitcoin is treated as property for tax purposes as opposed to currency and is subject to the capital gains tax. This IRS ruling validates the legality of bitcoin for investors and investments and profit making.

More and more companies and retailers are implementing bitcoins as a legitimate source of funds. Companies such as Microsoft, Overstock.com, Expedia.com, Subway, Virgin Galactic, museums, restaurants, clothing stores and now Frontier Tactical have entered the future of commerce by accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment for orders.

About Frontier Tactical:
Founded in 2014 in Brooksville, Florida, Frontier Tactical designs and manufactures firearms and accessories for the defense and shooting industries.

The Star Wars: Concept Trailer

December 13th, 2017

The Star Wars: Concept Trailer from The DAVE School on Vimeo.

About four decades ago, in this very galaxy, a film maker by the name of George Lucas penned material for a space opera film called ‘The Star Wars’. The idea transformed over time into the Star Wars franchise as we know it today, but during production of the initial idea, Lucas hired noted conceptual artist Ralph McQuarrie to paint scenes of the developing script, to show off to the studio. Using this same art as a reference, a team of graduates from the DAVE School produced a trailer for ‘The Star Wars’, as it could have been.

There also happens to be a pretty good comic that adapts an earlier draft of ‘The Star Wars’. If you track down a copy, it’s worth a read.

READY PLAYER ONE – Official Trailer

December 12th, 2017

Based on a book with more overt 80s pop culture references than an entire season of Family Guy, READY PLAYER ONE takes place in the near future, where everyone uses VR headsets and haptic suits to explore and interact with a vast MMO world, in which the Willy Wonka-esque creator has hidden an ‘Easter Egg’ which will grant the finder control of said world, and a literal fortune.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Not A Hero Is Now Available

December 11th, 2017

If you have a copy of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and you haven’t picked it up in a while, the free Not A Hero DLC is now available. It stars series veteran Chris Redfield and takes place immediately after the events of the main game. I played through it earlier, and although it’s short (~2 hours), it’s pretty good.

TFB Christmas Gift Idea – Bandai – Star Wars PG 1/72 Millennium Falcon (A New Hope) Model Kit

December 10th, 2017

Yeah, you’re going to see a lot of Star Wars on here in the coming weeks, what with Episode VIII coming out (very) soon, and Disney pumping out the licensed products like clockwork.

Anyway, Bandai Japan is releasing a meticulously-detailed 1/72 scale model of the Millennium Falcon under their ‘Perfect Grade’ series, which is their line of meticulously-detailed plastic model kits. Made of ABS plastic, the kit is based on “thorough research of the 67-inch studio model used in [A New Hope]”. That translates to photo-etched parts, water-transfer decals, and an LED unit which illuminates the engines, landing gear, cockpit, and boarding ramp. It also includes seated Han, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, and C-3PO figurines.

The best part? No glue required!

The price? Four Benjamins, but this is a hobby-grade, highly-detailed model, so that price isn’t unexpected.

Columbia X Star Wars ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ Collection

December 5th, 2017

This isn’t the first time Columbia partnered up with Disney to produce a line of Star Wars-inspired garb, but with a new Star Wars movie out later this month, and it being Winter and all, the timing is appropriate.

This time, the three pieces – Luke Skywalker Echo Base Jacket, Han Solo Echo Base Parka, and Leia Organa Echo Base Jacket, are even closer to their film counterparts than the previous Rogue One collection, which were jackets more clearly “inspired” by the film than modeled after costumes within the film. You could almost pass these off as cosplay-grade apparel; overt Columbia branding aside.

Like the last collection, these jackets are limited, and expensive, and will surely sell out shortly after they go live, because Star Wars.

At the time of writing, there’s roughly 48 hours before they go for sale on Columbia’s website, so eyeball that clock closely if you want one of these for yourself:

3COIL Design – Puna And Crane Knives On Kickstarter

December 4th, 2017

3COIL Design is a “London based fashion and product design studio”, who have started a Kickstarter campaign for a couple of EDC tools, the Puna and Crane Knife.

The Puna

The Puna features a design overtly reminiscent of a modern day AR-15-like rifle. The upper receiver portion removes from the lower receiver, functioning as a tool knife with a scalpel blade. The blade is easily replaceable using the included ‘suppressor’ micro screwdriver, while two interchangeable magazines function as a Flathead and Phillips head screwdriver, respectively.

As a happy accident, the Puna also fuctions as a proper bottle opener.

The Puna comes in a slick aluminum case, roughly the size of a business card, laid out with all the separate components, including spare blades. As a bonus, the top lid is pocketed, and can be used to store business cards, and other like-sized items.

The Crane

The Crane, a bit more pedestrian when compared to the showy Puna, is, as claimed by 3COIL, the smallest folding scalpel blade in the world. Made of stainless steel with a silver color, it features a non-locking, spring-loaded mechaism, an open length of 3.7″, and utilizes a No.11 Scalpel blade. The Crane is normally made only in extremely limited numbers by 3COIL, and this is the first time they’re doing a full production run.
