SIG SAUER Delivers Milestone 100,000th M17 / M18 Handgun to U.S. Military
Sunday, November 24th, 2019NEWINGTON, N.H., (November 22, 2019) – SIG SAUER, Inc. is proud to announce the delivery of the 100,000th M17 and M18 for the Modular Handgun System program to the U.S. Military, ahead of schedule, and surpassing the performance standards and requirements since the official contract award in January 2017.
“In the month of October SIG SAUER exceeded our manufacturing requirements by thirty percent and delivered a record-setting 12,100 handguns to the U.S. Military to achieve this historic milestone for SIG SAUER and the MHS program,” began Ron Cohen, President & CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “With the strict accuracy and acceptance specifications that the M17 and M18 are continuously exceeding, it’s clear that the success of this program can be directly attributed to the reliability, durability, and accuracy of the handgun, which has resulted in the high demand for both the M17 and M18 from every branch of the U.S. Military.”
The M17 and M18 handguns are a 9mm, striker-fired, P320-based handgun platform, featuring coyote-tan PVD coated stainless steel slides with black controls and utilize both 17-round and 21-round magazines. The handguns are equipped with SIGLITE front night sights, removable night sight rear plates, and manual safeties. To date SIG SAUER has delivered M17 and M18 handguns to all branches of the U.S. Military and the U.S. Coast Guard.
“From the very beginning the MHS program has been a true partnership between SIG SAUER and the U.S. Army which has resulted in the overwhelming success of the program, and ensuring that the M17 and M18 handguns are entering service, and in the field with our military,” concluded Cohen.

Pyro Putty is an all-weather emergency fire-starting material. Each can contains 2 oz of pliable material that’s designed to be lit easily with a lighter, matches, a ferro rod, ect. A piece the size of a nickel can burn for 8-10 minutes, and each can is good for roughly 30 fires.
Additionally, the material is UV reactive, so it can be used for trail marking. It also can impart a waterproof coating on materials such as those on tents and shoes.

LEGO – 1989 Batmobile

Pay tribute to the Batman who killed goons on screen years before Batfleck in BvS with this LEGO Batmobile set. BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., and Black Rifle Coffee Company have partnered to donate over $72,000 to the Boot Campaign, a non-profit organization that tirelessly works to support military veterans across the country. The funds were raised in conjunction with a group of personalities on the multimedia streaming platform, Twitch.tv. Popular Twitch personalities Eli_doubletap, Tweak, Klean, Matbest11x, Baddie, KiiNGS, Alex_Zedra, DonutOperator, and Drdemolitionmatt, streamed through the night on Saturday, Nov. 2, applying all crowd-sourced donations directly to the Boot Campaign. Leupold-sponsored product giveaways were a highlight of the special event, which ultimately raised $72,643.30.
“Leupold and Black Rifle Coffee Company conceived of the fundraiser, but it was the strength of community and dedication to the mission that made it as wildly successful as it was,” said Shane Meisel, Director of Marketing for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The Boot Campaign is one of the most dedicated veteran support programs in the country, and everyone – from the streamers to their fans on Twitch – showed up and backed the cause.”
Founded in 2009, the Boot Campaign has given more than $12 million in financial aid to service members, veterans, and their families. The organization’s programs assist with housing needs, career and education costs, PTSD/TBI treatment, and health and wellness programs. Funds are raised through general donations, corporate sponsorships, and the retail sale of combat boots and branded merchandise.

Dart Zone Pro MK-1

As what is probably not much of a surprise, there’s a pretty dedicated group of hobbyists who dabble in modified dart blasters, NERF and the like, to maximize the performance and range of their blasters. Well, a competitor to NERF, Dart Zone, a company which sells some pretty cool blasters of their own, decided to create the Dart zone Pro MK-1: a production blaster that incorporates many of the same features as these modified blasters, in what is a pretty sleek package.
The MK-1 consists of a upper receiver/front body with a pre-installed metal barrel, and a lower receiver, which quickly assembles together and is secured with metal pins. It’s action is stronger than a standard off-the-shelf blaster, which, when combined with specially designed darts, allows for accurate shots upwards of 150 feet, with a muzzle velocity of 150 feet/sec.
Simply put, it’s a hobbyist-level blaster right out the box. It also happens to be sold out at the time of writing. But, with how successful the limited run of MK-1 blasters has been, it’s possible there will be more to the Dart Zone Pro line in the future.
