BLACKHAWK! Launches New Fall Apparel Line at 2017 National Rifle Association Annual Meetings and Exhibits

Here’s the real origin of Murphy’s Law.

Murphy’s Law (“If anything can go wrong, it will”) was born at Edwards Air Force Base in 1949, and was named after Capt. Edward A. Murphy. Captain Murphy worked as an engineer on Air Force Project MX981, which was designed to see how much sudden deceleration a person can stand in an aircraft crash.

One day, after finding that a transducer was wired wrong, he cursed the technician responsible and said, “If there is any way to do it wrong, he’ll find it.” The contractor’s project manager kept a list of “laws” and added this one, which he called Murphy’s Law.

Shortly afterwards, the Air Force doctor (Dr. John Paul Stapp) who rode a sled on the deceleration track to a stop, pulling 40 Gs, gave a press conference. He said that their good safety record on the project was due to a firm belief in Murphy’s Law and in the necessity to try and circumvent it.

Aerospace manufacturers picked it up and used it widely in their ads during the next few months, and soon it was being quoted in many news and magazine articles. Murphy’s Law was born.

The limited beta test will run through the end of May. The upgraded functionality of the “beta” CARS will cost $800 as a premium option when ordering. The CARS rifle autonomously drops an empty magazine and loads the chamber once an ammunition supply is present. When using a CARS equipped rifle, the user is only required to pull the trigger, and introduce a fresh magazine as ammunition becomes exhausted. More time and attention can be spent on target acquisition and engagement, allowing for faster and more accurate shooting. The CARS retains the standard operation of the AR-15 platform; the bolt catch and magazine release are still present and operational.

The CARS auto-drop feature can be selectively deactivated to retain an empty magazine. CARS auto-load is always active and operational; the gun will chamber ammo from a fresh magazine once it is inserted and seated. CARS functionality works with most AR-15 magazines.

The components used in the construction of the CARS system are made from D2 and S7 tool steel and coated in nickel-Teflon. This process produces parts that resist wearing while also reducing the need for lubrication.

CARS is in its 5th revision since inception; reflecting dozens of improvements and refinements by their engineers. The 5th revision was extensively tested, with over 15,000 rounds expended during development and was vetted by numerous experts in the industry.

HAVA’s Learn to Shoot Again (LTSA) Program Garners Support at SHOT Show

LAS VEGAS – Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) announced last year the launch of Learn to Shoot Again (LTSA), a new division comprised of certified instructors who provide advanced/individual shooter adaptive training for significantly disabled military veterans and injured active duty military who can no longer shoot conventionally due to their injuries. LTSA was organized by former 7th Special Operations Command SGT Rick Cicero and offers one, two and three-day adaptive pistol, rifle, shotgun and braced firearm instruction.

HatsanUSA Unveils Its First Semi-Auto Air Rifle

The All-New BullMaster Will Make Its Debut at SHOT Show 2017

HatsanUSA is pleased to introduce the BullMaster, a new semi-auto Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifle with a bullpup design. The BullMaster will be available in .177 (1050 fps) and .22 (970 fps) calibers and is HatsanUSA’s first venture into semi-auto PCP airguns. “Our customers have been asking us to release a semi-auto bullpup for quite some time and with the BullMaster, HatsanUSA is delivering in a big way.
