Hooray! Hollywood is completely missing the point of the book being an account of a world recovering from a massive zombie war as told from the perspective of multiple people. Instead, they’ve turned it into a generic modern zombie flick with a god-like-solve-all-problems solo protagonist in Brad Pitt! I’m totally sure it’s a way better story.
Last Thursday, I braved two plane rides, a 3-and-a-half-hour layover in Atlanta, and two time zone changes to intern with Nathaniel Morrison of Morrison Industries, LTD for the next few months. The past few days has served as a sort of introduction/area familiarization along with some initial number crunching and testing to determine exactly where I am physically in addition to my medical history, dietary concerns, etc. The highlight of those days was definitely the trip up to Pike’s Peak. I got some great photos. I also suffered a bit of hypoxia on the summit, which was easily cured with some carbs and a steady decrease in elevation. In any event, the real training starts today, so expect a full report next Monday, along with more photos.

I wonder if we’ll finally see a blu-ray release of the original, unaltered trilogy now that Lucas and his “vision” isn’t holding it back. I also request a version of ‘Crystal Skull’ with all scenes featuring Shia LeBeouf either altered or completely removed.
This is part of a collection of laser cut sculptures made from US currency by Brooklyn-based artist Scott Campbell. Although the rest of the collection seems to be missing any additional firearms-based imagery, there’s plenty of kick-ass skulls, bones, and reapers that more than make up for it.

This is the Les Stroud Camillus SK Jungle Machete. Designed specifically for survival purposes, the SK Jungle features an 11 3/4 inch long, 2/10 inch thick 440-stainless steel blade which is treated with Carbonitride Titanium, a proprietary process that bonds formulated titanium and chromium nitride to the steel, giving it a surface up to three times harder than the base steel in addition to a more corrosive resistant finish and friction free cutting surface. GoPro’s latest iteration of their line of HERO cameras, the HERO3, has just been released. It comes in three progressively better editions: White, Silver, and Black. All three editions come WiFi-enabled and are capable of recording in upwards of 1080P resolution. Additionally, the HERO3 is also capable of taking photos upwards of 12MP, depending on the model.
‘Flare’ is a video series by Forth Wall Studios that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world (sans zombies, as far as I can tell) where the sun, moon, the stars, and electricity went out. What makes it interactive, so to speak, is it’s one of Fourth Wall’s RIDES series, where the viewer can give additional info, such as their phone number and email, to receive messages detailing other elements of the story to further deepen the experience.
