March 24th, 2015The Indiegogo page for the XM42 Handheld Flamethrower is now live.
The XM42 is the world’s first commercially available handheld flamethrower. The XM42 is designed for all manner of household chores:
– Clearing snow and ice
– Eliminating weeds
– Insect control
– Bonfire starting
– Pyrotechnic event displays
– And more…
It feeds from an onboard fuel tank, and is intended to work with 87 octane gasoline. The effective range is roughly 20-25 feet from the nozzle.
At the time of writing, the project has already made $14,000, or 35% of the $40,000 goal, on the first day; this one’s gonna reach its goal fast.
An Update On The Sharps Bros. ‘The Jack’ AR-15 Lower Receiver

Back in February, I wrote about a stylized AR-15 lower receiver shaped like a skull, produced by custom lower receiver shop Sharps Bros. The original article featured a 3D printed model developed for check fit purposes, however by this point they’ve graduated to full-on aluminum models. Currently, Sharps Bros. is awaiting an ATF variance to clear before they can start mass production. According to the Sharps Bros. Facebook page, we should expect more information on pricing and availability starting April 1st.

Third observation: As with ‘Archer’, the outfit is clearly a ‘Live and Let Die’, possibly even a ‘Bullitt’ reference.
NECA Reel Toys – Rambo Action Figure

This is a 7″ Rambo Action Figure released by NECA as part of the Reel Toys line. Confusingly, despite being part of the ‘Reel Toys’ line, it’s actually a special version which pays homage to the 8-bit NES Rambo video game, and comes in special packaging that mimics the original game box. To this end, Rambo comes complete with orange-colored bandana, pants, and boots, and a stylized paint job. His accessories include a bow and arrows, combat knife with sheath, hand grenade, and RPG.
Unfortunately, this one’s going to remain SIB for the foreseeable future, but I did manage to scrounge up a product image so you know what the figure looks like.
Mandalorian / Boba Fett Combat Suit By Ryan B. Flowers

Artist Ryan B. Flowers came up with this more contemporary take on Mandalorian armor, modifying multiple components and integrating what appears to be an armor carrier. It’s a bit different then his usual Dieselpunk-esque work, but not unfamiliar:

Bolt Airsoft – SR47 EBB

Bolt Airsoft has taken the popular KAC SR47 design and made it into an airsoft rifle. The build materials are aluminum, ABS, nylon, glass fiber, and steel, weighing in at roughly 8 lbs, for a solid, realistic feel. It comes with a 600 round mag, however it can also use any standard electric airsoft AK magazine. It also has a realistic blowback and recoil system. To be fair, this isn’t the newest gun on the market (it’s been available for awhile now), but it’s also one of the best looking SR47 airsoft guns around.
