Created by Athena Means, long-time gun owner and participant in practical shooting sports, GunGoddess.com is a website that caters to women shooters with a line of female-centric products. To quote the owner herself: “My feeling is, there’s no reason why women shooters can’t kick ass just as well in pink as in OD green!”
GunGoddess deals primarily in originally designed apparel, bullet casing jewelry, range and firearms bags, concealed-carry purses, and firearms accessories, most of which can be found in bright colors and/or leopard print. The site will soon be offering apparel and accessories for younger shooters. Also to come is a section on women’s firearms training courses and shooting clubs around the country.
Besides GunGoddess, there’s also GunfighterWear, which offers a similar selection of products intended for males such as apparel, bullet casing jewelry, range and firearms bags, and firearms accessories. GunfighterWear products are designed with more subdued and traditional colors and styles when compared to the big sister brand.
This “United States Government” provided poster shows the percentages for use of various weapons in Zombie outbreaks, along with the various causes for Zombies, and Max Brooks’s 10 lessons for surviving a Zombie attack. I’m assuming this data was recovered from the various movies listed in the timeline chart near the bottom. I’d hoped bladed weapons would have more prominence, but the stats don’t lie. Also, ‘Army of Darkness’ and ‘The Evil Dead’ get mentions, which I always love to see.
While I question the practicality of this particular method of exfiltration, sometimes the rule of cool just has to overtake all logic. More important than anything else, however, is that someone not only recorded this but had the good will to put it on YouTube.
From David Russo and David Ashby, the creators of Italian Spiderman, comes the ultimate 60’s era-style spy show you never knew you wanted, but know you have to see. Set in an alternate WWII, 5 Allied spies: Jackson from the USA, Tucker from Australia, Lisa from Russia, Claire from Britain, and Pierre from Europe, battle Hitler and the Third Reich’s evil schemes world wide, facing such foes as lizard men and Japanese robots. The first episode airs on YouTube November 21st.
The 12 Days of Tactical Christmas will be upon us soon. But what are they, you may ask? Why, a contest with 90 available prizes courtesy of some of the biggest names in the industry, that’s what!
Details soon to follow, and trust me when I say that it’s quite the unique event.
MultiCam has gained more prominence in the entertainment industry, being featured in recent movies, tv shows, and video games. Here’s a few examples of some high profile games that have featured MultiCam in some capacity.
The first instance in the CoD series featuring MultiCam starts at Modern Warfare 2. Though not directly mentioned, it seems like members of the multinational Special Forces group Task Force 141 featured in the campaign and Multiplayer are wearing a MultiCam variant that makes up the coloring of their kit and pants.
Modern Warfare 3 is one of the few games that feature MultiCam by name. If you’ve played MW3, or watched any videos online, then it’s likely you’ve noticed that Metal Team, the campaign’s resident Delta operators, are decked out in MultiCam battle uniforms, as are the Delta multiplayer models. It’s also an unlockable weapon’s skin that can be used on all the game’s primaries.
Finally, Battlefield 3 has MultiCam as worn by the Marine EOD operator in your squad in Single Player. It’s also an unlockable multiplayer skin as ‘Paratrooper’ camo (pause at 0:47).
The TD beanie is a one-size-fits-all fleece beanie. It features a front facing Velcro section with an M4 profile sewn in the middle for placing morale patches, and a Velcro strip in the back, for an additional patch/nametag. I have a sand one myself, and I have to say its quite comfortable. Also available in black.
Speaking of TD, they’re currently holding a special promotion for select Arc’teryx purchases. If you buy a Talos item, pant or shirt, you get a free pair of Arc’teryx Knee Caps in coyote. This is on a per-item basis as well, not just one per customer, so if you happen to purchase both a shirt and pant or two shirts and two pants, three of each, etc., you get an equivalent number of pairs of Knee Caps. If you’ve been holding out on getting a pair of Talos pants, now’s the perfect opportunity.

We here at TFB would like to give our sincerest, most heartfelt thanks to every individual who has served in the Military. From the very first militiamen to the warfighters of today, your sacrifices assure that we continue our way of life, freedom, and liberty. Again, thank you.
If you’ve ever found yourself wanting to build miniature spy equipment out of everyday household items, then Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction 2: Build a Secret Agent Arsenal by John Austin is a good place to start. Inside you’ll find step-by-step instructions for constructing 30 different tools, including a toothpaste periscope and cotton swab .38 special, made from simple items you can find at home or in the office supply closet. The book also details a number of useful hiding places for your new arsenal, and comes included with several practice targets, like a shark with a laser beam and a giant octopus. While not everything in the book is ‘real’ (the guns, for example, use things like tic tacs for ammo) at the very least its good practice for any MacGyvering you may have to do in the future.
Hornady makes Zombie ammunition. Ka-Bar makes a series of Zombie blades. Now, Taurus has joined in on all the undead fun with the Zombie Responder. Like the revolver it’s based on, the Taurus Raging Judge, the Zombie Responder is chambered for .454 Casull, .45 Colt, and .410 shotshell. The Zombie Responder also features its name in stylized letters on the cylinder, once for every chamber, and a green and red grip with a claw mark/blood streak design. Its a shame that Hornady doesn’t produce Zombie ammo in the compatible calibers, because Zombie ammo used with a Zombie gun is too good a combination to pass up.

The 0’Clock Watches are Italian-made time pieces with a simplified design: the clock face features no numbers and has a Woodland camo design. What they lack in detail they make up in customization. The time piece is easily removed from its silicon band and can be placed in similar bands of varying colors and sizes. Each 0’Clock watch also comes in a sealed can with a pop-top lid, an amusing feature that mimics opening a can of food. 0’Clock Camo Watches can be purchased from Tactical Distributors.
The model weapons that can be built with legos never cease to impress me. This time, it’s the SRS99 Anti-Matériel rifle as seen in Halo: Reach, built by one Nick Jensen. It features a removable magazine, sliding bolt, and functioning trigger, however it doesn’t fire any projectiles. This doesn’t detract from the awesomeness of the model, however as it’s still extremely impressive as is.
The EDC Kit by Kaufmann Mercantile is a collection of multi-use tools that are designed to fit in with the ‘everyday carry’ mentality. The tools are constructed from high-grade steel, are extremely durable, weigh only 2 ounces combined, and are small enough to fit on a keychain. Included with the kit are a pry bar, precision tweezers, Phillips and Flat head screwdriver keys, and a waterproof lighter that is convertible to a pill carrier. All of the parts can also be purchased separately should you not need every tool in the kit.
Winter is rapidly approaching, and with Winter comes snowball fights (well, in most places anyway). So get the drop on any potential enemies with the Crossbow Snow Launcher. By loading a snowball in the front and pulling back the lever, this launcher can deliver snowballs up to 60 feet. It comes with a snowball press to form perfectly spherical projectiles and a target, presumably so you have something to practice your aim with. The target’s a nice gesture, but neighborhood children make for much better practice, since you’d also gain the benefit of learning how to hit moving targets.
Designed by Philippe Starck, this stylized lamp is shaped like a Beretta 92 and is constructed from die cast aluminum with an over molded polymer. Two finishes are available: chrome and 18k gold plating. The chrome features a white plasticized paper shade with an internal grey finish while the gold plating features a matte black plasticized paper shade with an internal gold silkscreened finish. It’s a nice looking piece, but for the asking price one could buy a real Beretta and still have money left over. Yeah, the lamp’s that expensive.
Also available is its companion piece, the Table Gun Lamp.
I guess we’d call this a textbook example of Aquatic Ordnance Disposal and how an operator properly disposes of an Improvised Water Device. Yeah, that sounds about right.
You can own a t-shirt with this image courtesy of Glennz Tees. Not hard to see why, since EOD is easily one of the most important jobs in the military today. Not to mention it is a pretty amusing image.
Blue Forest is a UK-based company that deals in sustainable design and construction. Although they’re best known for their series of amazing tree houses, like the one in the above image, they’ve also done work on a wide variety of educational buildings and hotel projects involving eco lodges and tree house resorts. With such a proven track record of high-quality projects, perhaps it’s not out of the ream of possibility for them to make, say, an Apocalypse-scenario hideaway high in the trees, safe from any marauders, ghouls, or mutated animals that may inhabit. Just in case.
We here on TFB have been putting out a lot of Zombie-themed content in the recent weeks, since it’s the month of Halloween and all, and we figured another article on undead killin’ implements wouldn’t hurt since there’s no kill like overkill. Speaking of which, meet the Louisville Decapitron. A creation of Gord of Gordsgarage, the Decapitron is the melding of a large blade and a Louisville Slugger, a combination that makes for a powerful anti-Zombie weapon. The business end is meant for any undead looking to make a snack of your innards, while the blunt portion is meant to beat away any humans going after your survival stash. Anyone else getting a ‘Dead Rising 2‘ vibe from this thing, or is it just me?
