Kryptek’s Tartaros hoodie is a piece of casual wear that can either be worn as part of a layering system or as a stand alone outer layer piece. The ‘Fight Crime Shoot Back’ patch is a project on Kickstarter by Primer Projects, a designer who is looking to create high-quality, well-designed goods for the modern shooting sports enthusiast. Made from soft 3D PVC, the finalized patch will be 3.25 x 2.5″ and will feature Velcro hook backing. Primer Projects has partnered with PA-based Combat-Swag to produce the patch, so it’ll be 100% designed and made in the USA.

Well, the Amigos enjoyed it well enough.
As for me, I wasn’t really into it. Without trying to spoil too much, April’s involvement in the turtles and Splinter’s origin is a poor attempt at linking them together, the CGI isn’t that good looking, and the Foot Clan aren’t even ninjas, just thugs with ARs and crappy masks.
Splinter learned Ninjitsu from a manual he found thrown away in the sewer, which he mastered and later taught to the turtles. He also somehow managed to obtain quality, authentic “ninja weapons” for them to use. My belief was suspended at that point (because talking turtles who also happen to be ninjas is a totally believable premise, right?).
The positives? The action scenes aren’t that bad, and I chuckled a few times at the admittedly lame jokes. It’s ok for the kids, but TMNT fans won’t find anything worth watching.
If you need a Turtle fix, go watch the 90s trilogy; even Turtles III is better.
Verdict: Wait for the home release, if at all.
It looks like they’ve slipped a Maxpedition Doppelduffel Adventure Bag into the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, as used by Will Arnett’s character. As it happens, I’m going with the Three Amigos to see it later on today, so I’ll post something on it after I get back.

There’s a Kickstarter up right now for cartridge-shaped whiskey stones. These particular whiskey stones, or ‘bourbon bullets’ are CNC machined from Grade 23 titanium to specs close to a 45 ACP cartridge. They’re longer and larger in diameter, so they won’t actually fit into a firearm. Four fishes will be available: Polished, Matte Bead Blasted, and Flame Anodized, with the fourth finish, Bronze Anodized, a Kickstarter exclusive for ‘JMB (John Moses Browning) Class Connoisseur backers.
The project creators are also offering a ‘chill caddy’ which offers a conveinent medium by which the stones can be chilled in a freezer or ice box.

Aside from that, it looks cool. Lasers, jetpacks, semi-dynamic maps, but also an awful lot of one-hit-kill weapons. I guess we’ll see how it plays November 4th.

Motoped is a company formed from a successful Kickstarter venture for a motorized bike kit that utilizes an XR50/pitbike engine and standard mountain bike components. They’ve recently unveiled a prototype of their next product, the ‘Survival Bike’.

Chances are good you’ve never heard of the Schwarzlose 1908 Blow-Forward pistol. It’s one of only a few blow-forward operation pistols from the late 19th/early 20th century, and saw limited commercial success.
In true teaser fashion all we get is a few flashes of some backgrounds, the promise of a Gargantua-2 special later this year, and…. oh, yeah, a mysterious new man clad all in blue who’s been bumping off members of the Guild of Calamitous Intent. Who could it possibly be?
A new addition to the Zombie Strike line, this chainsaw takes an obvious cue from the Lancer in Gears of War, but it’s pretty badass so we’ll forgive ’em. Made of NERF’s trademark foam, it functions as a standalone toy chainsaw, all marked up with battle damage and the like. Pressing the green button on either side will produce chainsaw noises, although the left side also functions as the speaker so unfortunately the sound gets a bit muffled when in use. The coolest feature is its compatibility with the NERF tactical rail, so it can be attached to the forend of any compatible NERF blaster.
The Zombie Strike Chainsaw should be available wherever NERF is sold.
‘A Dame to Kill For’ is looking like a decent sequel to the first Sin City movie. Fair warning, the trailer is violent, and more importantly actually seems to spoil quite a bit.
