Henry Introduces NON-NFA Lever Action Axe .410

Sunday, December 22nd, 2019

The Henry Lever Action Axe .410 features a unique “axe handle” grip and an overall length of 26.4-inches, which classifies it as a non-NFA firearm. The MSRP is $970.

RICE LAKE, WI – December 19, 2019 – Henry, the leading lever action firearms manufacturer, introduced today a unique addition to their product line with the announcement of the Lever Action Axe .410, a non-NFA lever action firearm featuring a side loading gate and a signature “axe handle” grip. Now available at licensed firearms dealers nationwide, this new firearm is not regulated under the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ National Firearms Act and will not require a tax stamp to purchase.

Anthony Imperato, President and owner of Henry Repeating Arms explains, “Our Mare’s Leg lever action pistols have been a popular choice among shooting sports enthusiasts for many years now, mainly because they’re so fun to shoot and the fact that they look like they came right out of a Western movie.” Imperato continues, “The Axe shares a similar form factor to our Mare’s Leg with some added features for more versatility.”

Details of the Henry Lever Action Axe .410 include an engraving of Henry’s logo on the bottom of the genuine American walnut grip, a side loading gate, a brass bead front sight, and a threaded barrel for invector chokes.

The round blued steel barrel is topped with a polished brass bead front sight and threaded for invector style chokes. A removable full choke is included out of the box. The bottom of the genuine American walnut “axe handle” grip is engraved on the bottom with Henry Repeating Arms’ cowboy logo.

Columbus, Georgia — Heckler & Koch is proud to announce the US availability of the HK SP5, the only authentic sporting version of the legendary MP5 submachine gun available.

The SP5 was developed by HK as a semiautomatic, civilian sporting pistol that matches the look and feel of the legendary MP5 submachine gun.

“In the month of October SIG SAUER exceeded our manufacturing requirements by thirty percent and delivered a record-setting 12,100 handguns to the U.S. Military to achieve this historic milestone for SIG SAUER and the MHS program,” began Ron Cohen, President & CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “With the strict accuracy and acceptance specifications that the M17 and M18 are continuously exceeding, it’s clear that the success of this program can be directly attributed to the reliability, durability, and accuracy of the handgun, which has resulted in the high demand for both the M17 and M18 from every branch of the U.S. Military.”

80 Percent Arms Introduces GST-9 Ghost: First Truly Modular 80% Pistol Frame System

Tuesday, November 19th, 2019

Garden Grove, CA., (November 15, 2019) – 80 PERCENT ARMS, Inc., the nation’s largest manufacturer of 80% firearms, is proud of our history in challenging the status quo by releasing new products that have revolutionized the 80% lower industry. Today, we are continuing the tradition with the release of our new GST-9 Ghost: the world’s first truly modular 80% pistol frame system compatible with Glock® 19 platform components, as well as our patent-pending modular grips allow for easy conversion between compact and full size. We started by taking a close look at the famously reliable Glock® platform, diligently researched what was missing on the market today, then used our years of expertise manufacturing 80% firearms to develop the most shootable 80% pistol system from the ground up.

Based on extensive research and focus group testing, we also improved ergonomics by designing a contoured grip that improves comfort and helps tame recoil. The undercut trigger guard gives you a higher grip on the frame, thus lowering the bore-axis and reducing muzzle flip for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.

The GST-9 Ghost features several improvements over the time-tested Glock® platform, starting with the mating surface between the slide and frame. Frame rails have been extended three times their normal length for more repeatability, better accuracy, and controlled recoil impulse. Nickel plating improves reliability by reducing friction between moving parts in the harshest conditions, even after liquid lubricants have long since cooked off.

The GST-9 is centered around one thing: you. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to your mission. That’s why we designed the GST-9 to allow every shooter to build a frame that is tailor-made for them. Whether it’s a compact or full-size grip, a streamlined magwell for carry or a flared magwell for competition, we give you options. Build the frame you want for your mission with the 80 Percent Arms GST-9 Ghost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions we’ve had regarding the magazine.

Is it reliable?

Yes! It should be noted that from the handmade prototypes we made in February and March, through the rounds of pre-production samples, to the final geometry we have today, we have never had a single failure to feed or eject. If the mag fit, it functioned, flawlessly.

What took so long?

While it always takes time to create tooling, what slowed us down is that to our knowledge, this magazine geometry has never been done before, so it took a little extra time for our magazine manufacturer to dial everything in.

Even small adjustments to a magazine design take time to change in tooling and test, and we were unwilling to compromise and release the magazine before it was ready. This is not just a range toy.

When will pre-orders ship?

We expect to begin shipping pre-orders in October; pre-orders will ship in the order they are received.

Do I need a metal mag catch since the magazine is made out of steel?

That depends on the shooter. We are offering an anodized aluminum mag catch for higher volume shooters who are concerned that the steel magazine will wear down the OEM polymer catch. It should be noted that our test guns have OEM mag catches, and we haven’t noticed any reliability issues yet. However, if you shoot enough, there is a possibility of accelerated wear on the catch, so if this is a concern, swap it out.

Fostech Echo Sport Trigger

Sunday, September 15th, 2019

Fostech’s Echo Sport is designed as a lower-cost alternative to those who want an Echo trigger for their AR, but want to spend a bit less money. Rather than activate the Echo mode from the selector, the Echo Sport features a selector paddle that sits within the trigger well. The shooters moves the paddle to the left for Echo mode, and to the right for semi-auto. And, as with the standard Echo, the Echo mode can be turned off by moving the paddle back to semi-auto mode when the trigger is depressed.

FLUX Defense – FLUX MP17

Monday, September 9th, 2019

FLUX Defense, creator of the FLUX Glock pistol brace, is expanding their product line with the introduction of the FLUX MP17. Available in both a pistol brace and stock-equipped SBR configuration, the MP17 is a chassis specifically for the SIG Sauer P320. The MP17 accepts the serialized Fire Control Unit and slide assembly from full-sized P320 variants, shifting from a traditional pistol design to one more reminiscent of a PDW.

FLUX MP17 from Flux Defense on Vimeo.

Features include a railed forend for the attachment of lights and/or lasers, an on-board spare mag carrier, QD mount for slings, and a fixed optic mount that is compatible with most micro red dot sights like the RMR or Deltapoint, which can also be outfitted with a Picatinny rail for the use of a larger electronic sight such as an Aimpoint or EoTech. FLEX Defense is also offering a Level 2 Retention holster specifically designed for use with the MP17, which is compatible with multiple styles of lights and even a mounted suppressor.

Intentional or not, the MP17 is actually pretty similar to the B&T USW-320. However, I kind of like FLUX’s take on the concept better, if mainly because of the fixed optic mount.

Adam Savage’s Zorg Industries ZF-2

Thursday, July 25th, 2019

Adam Savage of Mythbuster’s fame is no stranger to the Zorg Industries ZF-1 from ‘The Fifth Element’, having made a couple of inert replicas for himself. However, his interest in the ZF-1 has extended to producing a functioning model of the highly-versatile sci-fi weapon, dubbed the ZF-2. For the purposes of function, the ZF-2 is roughly twice the size of the ZF-1, and weighs in at 40 lbs. It also isn’t a firearm for the purposes of practicality, instead using a stabilizing camera attached to a NERF dart launcher to replace the “gun” component, however it does have all the other features of the ZF-1 seen in the movie:

– Arrow Launcher
– Net Launcher
– Flame Thrower
– Cryo Launcher
– Rocket Launcher

In short, Adam Savage’s ZF-2 is huge, impractical, and pretty damn cool.

Polymer80 – Complete Builder Tool Set

Sunday, July 21st, 2019

This is a pretty cool completment to your P80 PF940 builds, or just as a decent armorer’s set for those who work on Glock and Glock-like pistols. It consists of a red ERGO MAST modular stand, along with punch set and 8oz brass hammer. The ERGO MAST in red also happens to be a custom offering through Polymer80, so if you prefer that color option, either this set or the stand-alone offering is the only way you’re getting one.

You Can Own Burt Reynolds’ Carry Revolver!

Wednesday, July 17th, 2019

United Defense LLC is selling Burt Reynolds’ personal carry Rossi revolver, purchased from the auction of the late actor’s estate. The revolver, customized for Burt with the barrel shortened to 2 3/8″, was his daily carry while he resided in Florida. It comes with a custom Bohlin holster with the initials ‘B.L.’, the very same holster carried by the character B.L. Stryker, as played by Burt Reynolds, in the show of the same name. Not quite as punchy as the 6″ Colt Python his titular character used in ‘Sharky’s Machine’, or his .44 Automag in ‘Malone’, but as a .38 Special revolver, a very solid carry option.

Shell Shock Technologies Signs Don Aman as Newest Sponsored Shooter

Sunday, July 14th, 2019

Shell Shock Technologies will be supplying Aman with its NAS3 cases for his 2019 competitive season.

Westport, Conn. (June 2019) – Shell Shock Technologies, LLC., an early stage technology, and manufacturing company focused on developing innovative case technologies for the ammunition industry, is pleased to announce it has signed Don Aman as its newest sponsored shooter. Shell Shock Technologies will be supplying Aman with its NAS3 cases during his 2019 USPSA competitive season. He will be shooting his CZ CZECHMATE running 9mm at 170 power factor.

“Shell Shock Technologies’ NAS3 9mm cases are by far the best all-around 9mm cases I have ever seen or shot. This technology will revolutionize the reloading industry and I am so proud to be a part of the Shell Shock Technologies’ team. The old brass case technology has officially been put on notice!” Aman commented.

Aman has been involved in the shooting sports for over 20 years as a competitive shooter, reloader, Las Vegas survivor and a staunch pro-gun advocate. He started casting his own bullets in 2016 and quickly realized it was becoming a lost art. He began to read anything he could get his hands on regarding the art of casting lead and now shares this information with his subscribers on the Bullets for Freedom YouTube and UGETube Channel. During 2019, he will be traveling throughout the Northwest competing in many Level 1, 2 and 3 matches as part of the USPSA competitive season.

Aman can be seen competing next at the 2019 Northwest Challenge, to be held at the Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman’s Club in Puyallup, Washington, July 12 – 14, 2019.

About Shell Shock Technologies NAS3 Cases:

NAS3 9mm cases are 50 percent lighter than brass cases, offer greater lubricity and will not abrade, clog, foul, wear-out or damage breach and ejector mechanisms. The cases offer greater corrosion resistance, tensile strength (2x stronger) and elasticity than brass. NAS3 cases will not split, chip, crack or grow (stretch) and are fully reloadable (using S3 Reload dies) and can be reloaded many more times than brass cases. NAS3 cases have been tested successfully by customers to pressures over 70k psi. NAS3 cases can be picked up with a magnet. The head can be colored for branding purposes and easy load identification.

NAS3 is “Best in Class” for maintaining consistent velocity between rounds. In an independent test performed by H.P. White Laboratory (a major munitions testing facility), rounds fired using NAS3 cases achieved a velocity standard deviation of 0.093 FPS (124-grain FMJ bullet, 4.2 grains Titegroup powder, 10 rounds, extreme variation 3fps).

The posters will be Giclee printed using ultrachrome inks on hahnemuhle 308 GSM archival paper. • Editorial background:

Produced in limited numbers during WWII, the Model 37 production stopped in 1945. The Vietnam War really reignited the need for large numbers of combat shotguns and Ithaca started building Model 37s again beginning in 1962. Initially made for the Vietnamese military, the Model 37 proved so effective in jungle fighting it was contracted for our military and models like the current Inland/Ithaca version were produced throughout the war.

The Model 37 was generally found with some elite units such as Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets. The Model 37 was especially handy for Marine Corps Corpsmen (actually Navy medics called Corpsmen by the Marines) and others in various support roles on the battlefield where quick, fight-stopping high-hit probability shots and total reliability were critical while the operator performed his primary mission task.

Out of production since 1975, the Ithica Model 37 is now back and every bit as mean-looking and effective as it was in WWII , Korea and the jungles of Vietnam. The Model 37 has proved to be a serious fight stopper in combat since WWII and a fun gun to use recreationally, hunting or for self-defense for over 75 years–especially for those wanting an authentic looking piece of combat firearm history.
