Did you see Dennis Quaid in ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ and notice that interesting camouflage pattern he was wearing? Although from a distance it looks a bit MultiCam-ish, the pants actually “…feature a traditional woodland pattern, as well as mixed digital squares and the G.I. Joe logo.”, the later of which is a neat little addition you can see in the image above. The official description came from PropStore.com, who is offering the General Hawk Abernathy uniform in its entirety.
Along with the Joe camo pants above, then set also comes with an Army Green XXL Under Armor shirt with the official G.I. Joe insignia and a tan belt with metal slide inclosure. Besides the uniform itself, the buyer gets a set of production tags that display the text “Hawks” and “Chng #5/Hero” and an official Certificate of Authenticity from Paramount Pictures. The only problem is, it ain’t cheap.

Where did this movie come from? There I was sitting in the theater waiting for Captain America, and along comes this trailer. It hits theaters September 8th and stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne and Sanaa Lathan. It’s a techno-thriller about a deadly virus and attempts to contain it. When I saw the trailer it reminded me of ‘The Andromeda Strain’; I almost thought it could be a remake until I saw the title.
Established in 1999, SILLOF’s WORKSHOP offers custom-made action figures of alternative versions of characters from popular franchises, including Star Wars and DC Comics. Everything he makes is amazing, but if anything else, the Rocketeer-esque Steampunk Boba Fett, appropriately named Boden Ferrett, is a must have.
We’ve still got a bit of time before Battlefield 3 is released, and the open beta isn’t accessible until September. With actual gameplay footage being so sparse, how does one sate their curiosity for this highly anticipated sequel? Why, with leaked alpha footage of course! Check it out before it’s taken down. It looks pretty damn amazing.
Commissioned by Mondo, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s collectible art boutique, this is one of a set of four promotional posters made for the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger. Created by Eric Tan and Olly Moss, the posters depict propaganda on the part of both Captain America and the main antagonist organization HYDRA. The posters are available in extremely limited quantities and apparently only at Comic Con, so if you’re not there, then you’re out of luck.
The MP5 and HK416 and their variants are among H&K’s most iconic firearms, and through UmarexUSA you can own semi-auto replicas chambered for .22 LR. But don’t let the reduced caliber fool you. Thanks to dedicated engineering, high-quality parts and stringent German manufacturing at Carl Walther, each of these full-sized replicas operate exactly as their larger caliber cousins. Features include mach-grade barrels, metal receivers, accurate safety switches and fully-adjustable sights. High-strength polymer magazines are available in either 10 or 20(416)/25(MP5) round capacity and prices for the replicas run from roughly $450-550, depending on the model.
Available from Francis Ford Coppola Winery, this unique camouflage pattern was developed by Anahid Nazarian, Director of the American Zoetrope Research Library, while working on a film for Coppola. She got the idea from observing various countries’ camouflage patterns. After noticing that several patterns featured shapes very similar to grape leaves, Nazarian decided it would be a fun idea to develop camo constructed entirely of a grape leaf pattern. Besides the available apron, shirts with this pattern were also made available to Chris Morisoli, a 1st Lieutenant formerly stationed in Iraq. Originally one was sent to 1st Lt. Morisoli in a care package from Nazarian sent on behalf of the Coppolas. He liked it so much, and so did the men in his unit, that they donated additional shirts so every one of his fellow Soldiers could also wear them.

Don’t forget to check out the Crazy Fanboy Blowout Sale currently available from Tactical Distributors. Gear made in the USA at prices way below retail makes this a deal I’d have to be crazy to offer. And don’t forget, more than a few items in stock aren’t even made anymore, meaning this might be your only chance to get a hold of them.
Built by Casey Putsch of Putsch Racing, this Batmobile is powered by a military spec 385 hp Boeing turboshaft engine from a naval drone helicopter driving the rear wheels through a semi automatic gearbox. It also features a custom tube frame/monocoque chassis with fully independent suspension, disc brakes, and a sequential shifter. It runs on kerosene, diesel, or jet fuel and has a power to weight ration comparable to a Dodge Viper. Thankfully, it’s very close in design to the 1989 Michael Keaton Batmobile, which is great, because that movie was actually watchable.
This video by Youtuber ‘CorridorDigital‘ shows the almighty power of a potato cannon that shoots paintballs, in slow-motion, courtesy of a high-speed camera. That disarm move near the end was pretty slick, too.
These are the the Fossil Meta Watches, a pair of hi-tech timepieces, either in analog/digital hybrid or full digital with a larger memory-in-pixel LCD, that use Texas Instrument’s CC2560 Bluetooth radio to allow the user to access their email, check weather forecasts, and Facebook updates, among other features. Too bad they won’t be out until next month. This news came straight from Bill Geiser, vice president of Fossil Watch Technology, himself in response to a tweet by a curious customer. The delay is a shame, but either Meta Watch is cool enough to warrant the wait.
Last month, ADS, Inc held a garage sale. Even though the warehouse looked like it had been struck by a cyclone, at the end of the sale there was still a lot of really great kit left. Tactical Fanboy approached Tactical Distributors to purchase the best of what was left and hold a special liquidation sale for his readers. He went through the gear and picked out some great offerings that will appeal to users and collectors alike. Almost nothing is in UCP but rather Coyote and Tan. Additionally, with the exception of a couple of clothing items, everything is Berry compliant. Head on over and check it out. This is a one time good deal. Some of these products will never be available again, anywhere. With deals like these, he’s got to be crazy.
This video by youtuber ‘derekgrebner87‘ AKA Tex Grebner shows that anyone can suffer from a negligent discharge. Tex may not have made the video for sympathy or to be ridiculed, but I couldn’t help but laugh a little. This was of course after wincing when that bullet entered his leg.
To his credit, he has pretty good reason as to how the negligent discharge happened. That’s why I stick with Glocks. There’s no chance to disengage the safety while drawing, unless you’re stupid enough to put your finger on the trigger pre-maturely.

No, you’re not expected to jump that high when you first start.
Box Jumps are an excellent plyometric exercise that works heavily on the lower body. Because of the explosive power and muscle contraction requred from that part of the body you’ll build strength fairly quickly and see an increase in jumping ability i.e. height.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit my vertical isn’t great. I can’t use the standard boxes that are set up at the facility I use, even if its only by an inch or two. Instead, I stack a few weights up until they reach a slightly lower height and I’ve been working from there. That’s one of the best things about Box Jumps, though. They require no specialized equipment and can be done almost anywhere, at massive benefit.
Steps are as follows:
-Set up a box. If you don’t have a box handy, stack up a few weights, aerobics steps, or use a sturdy chair/bench. Work within your means and abilities.
-Stand in front of the box, feet shoulder-width apart.
-Jump on top of the box, planting both feet firmly on the surface.
-Hold for roughly a second, then jump down, bending your knees as you land.
-Repeat explosive movement as necessary.
If you’re finding your jumps too easy, don’t forget you can add more height, carry weights while you jump, and/or try other variants, like Box Jump Burpees, for a more gainful and intense exercise. I highly recommend trying Box Jumps out if you haven’t already.
Unsurprisingly, Youtuber ‘freddiew‘ has done it again. In his latest video, watch as a completely loyal and brave feline sacrifices himself to allow his fellow soldiers to escape. Besides being hilarious, the always excellent special effects easily helped this video catapult to its current viral status. For anyone else, I’d say this would be hard to top, but Freddie W. usually manages by the following week.
Confirmed by none other than the original Ash himself, Bruce Campbell (via Twitter), is the news that the cult horror classic Evil Dead is being remade.
As a major (Evil Dead) Fanboy all I have to say is “NOOOOOOO! It can’t be true!”
While Sam Raimi and Bob Murawski, director and editor of the original film respectively, will be teaming up once again for this project, it comes as no surprise that the role of everyone’s favorite S-Mart employee will be played by an as-of-now unnamed actor. Given that this is a Raimi production, of course Campbell will be included in a cameo role (possibly as the milk man), but it hurts to find someone else will be fighting Deadites instead of Bruce. Compared to the original, the best rating I could see this ever getting out of the fanbase is a “Meh. It’s passable.”, but at least the original creative team is behind it.
This is the kind of video that has us all asking: “Why didn’t I have toys this cool when I was a kid?”
While full of clever special effects, Youtuber ‘shaycarl‘s’
‘EPIC WAR!’ video reminds us of those younger days playing with toy soldiers, and how we wished they would actually shoot at each other like they do in the vid. I’m also pretty sure that cop was going overkill when he was firing his pistol at that castle. Then again, a fully-automatic no-recoil sniper rifle is pretty overkill itself, so I guess everything is balanced in the end.

Jeffrey Train, former Master Corporal in the Canadian Army, came up with this series of chess sets, which showcase either American, British, or Canadian forces against Taliban or Iraqi Insurgents. Both sides feature the various classes of pieces in their own unique ways. For example, the American forces have ‘American Assault Soldiers’ for pawns, ‘American Heavy Gunners’ for knights, the World Trade Towers for Rooks, ‘American Snipers’ for Bishops, the Statue of Liberty for a Queen, and either George W. Bush or Barack Obama as the king. The chess sets can be purchased from Hedwig & Sergeant Major (click the image above) in these configurations:

A portion of the sales goes towards Canadian troops to help fund fun-runs and provide food for events in Afghanistan.
This video by Youtuber ‘randomannkenny‘ is a parody of the series of Magpul Dynamics videos featuring Chris Costa. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I laughed pretty damn hard.
