Back in August, we featured a product called the VSSL. It is an LED flashlight with a large handle that is used as a survival canister.
The project is currently on Kickstarter with 8 days left to go. Originally, one of the configurations was a Zombie themed VSSL which would have included a spike head attachment. As it turns out, Kickstarter has a “no-weapons” policy, and forced the project team to remove that particular configuration from the offerings. Here is how they responded:
The Zombie VSSL features a black exterior, and comes with a dual mode LED flashlight, oil filled compass, surgical mask, and bouquet of flowers attachment head. Why (re)kill the undead when you can court them, right?

The US ARMY Playing Cards are the first in a series of US Military-themed playing cards designed by illustrator and playing card designer Jackson Robinson. This initial offering is officially licensed by the U.S. Army, and consists of four individual decks: 1910 Army, Premium Army, Black Ops, and Black Ops Display.
The deck shown above, for example, is the Army 1910 deck, a Kings Wild re-imagining of the original 1910 Russell & Morgan ARMY NAVY 303 playing deck. The campaign has officially reached its goal, however there is still plenty of time to own one or more of these commemorative card decks.

The ‘Filmography of Guns’ is a project by Cathryn Lavery to create a print that features 115 individual illustrations of iconic guns – real and fantastic – in television and film, featured on a single, large print.
In addition to the print, an in-depth book featuring all 115 guns is also being offered.
This project has already reached its baseline funding goal, however you can still donate to secure a print, book, or reach the higher stretch goals for even greater rewards such as the custom collector book plate.

The ‘Fight Crime Shoot Back’ patch is a project on Kickstarter by Primer Projects, a designer who is looking to create high-quality, well-designed goods for the modern shooting sports enthusiast. Made from soft 3D PVC, the finalized patch will be 3.25 x 2.5″ and will feature Velcro hook backing. Primer Projects has partnered with PA-based Combat-Swag to produce the patch, so it’ll be 100% designed and made in the USA.
I’m really liking the clean aesthetics of this initial work and hope to see more from Primer Projects soon.
You can fund the project here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1913447232/primer-projects-fight-crime

There’s a Kickstarter up right now for cartridge-shaped whiskey stones. These particular whiskey stones, or ‘bourbon bullets’ are CNC machined from Grade 23 titanium to specs close to a 45 ACP cartridge. They’re longer and larger in diameter, so they won’t actually fit into a firearm. Four fishes will be available: Polished, Matte Bead Blasted, and Flame Anodized, with the fourth finish, Bronze Anodized, a Kickstarter exclusive for ‘JMB (John Moses Browning) Class Connoisseur backers.
The project creators are also offering a ‘chill caddy’ which offers a conveinent medium by which the stones can be chilled in a freezer or ice box.
This project has been fully backed, however there is still 9 days to go before funding closes, so if you’re looking to secure your own bourbon bullets then there’s still time to pledge.

Think laser tag, but with foam swords, and you have a pretty good idea with Sabertron is all about. Sabertron employs an accelerometer to detect when and what the sword has impacted. Wireless communication between blades shares this information, which in turn tells the blade when a player has lost health, measured by LED light strips on the handle. The core of the blade is made of ultra-durable polycarbonate plastic, being near indestructible while weighing less than a pound with the foam blade cover. Currently up for funding on Kickstarter, they’ve (unsurprisingly) already reached their goal, but contributing opens up special deals and pricing as usual.

Aescent is a company that currently has a project up on Kickstarter: ‘The World’s Most Comfortable Tent’. The ‘World’s Most Comfortable Tent’ is a 4-man domed tent with an integrated 6-inch inflatable base attached via zipper access. The inflatable base is designed using an intertwining system of tubes, which limits the ability of air to be unevenly displaced, unlike traditional air mattresses built using a bladder-like construction. The tent is also designed so that it can be used without the mattress, for such times when weight conservation is a must. The tent is still in the prototype phase, and the finalized design is planned to include the addition of internal storage pockets and high-grade aluminum tent poles.

Ledge Pants are Liquid-resistant, stain-proof, wrinkle-resistant pants that are equally at home outside or in the office. The fabric features a high elastane content of 10%, so the pants move with the wearer. They’re also highly sturdy, and have extra deep pockets with a cut on the side for easy access. The project is currently up on Kickstarter, with men’s sizes in mind; once the goal is reached women’s sizes will be considered.

Obviously, it’s not a spatula made of bacon, but rather a spatula patterned to look like bacon; kitchen camouflage if you will.
It’s part of the ‘GIR: Get It Done’ line of spatulas, kitchenware made for men. Here’s what the creator had to say about them:
“They are unibody silicone, and indestructible. There is a pro size that can legitimately knock someone out if you hit them on the head with it (field-tested).”
The line is currently up on Kickstarter, where enough funding will result in spatulas in all sorts of colors, including the bacon pattern, and sizes mini, skinny, ultimate, and pro.
