Pennyworth – Official Trailer

The upcoming ‘Pennyworth’ is a 10-part series that will be available on the EPIX streaming service. It’s a prequel series in which former SAS soldier Alfred Pennyworth forms a security company and works with Thomas Wayne in 1960s London. It looks pretty stylish, although it almost feels like it could be the same story without the Batman licensing.

In any case, you can catch Pennyworth on EPIX July 28th.

S&W Has Issued An M&P15-22 Consumer Safety Alert

Smith & Wesson has issued a consumer safety alert on all M&P15-22 rifles and pistols manufactured before February 1st, 2019. S&W has discovered that some recently manufactured 15-22s feature a defect causing a lack of proper depth of the breech face counter bore. This defect can cause a closed bolt to crush the rim of a chambered .22 round, causing it to unintenionally fire, cycling the bolt, and potentially causing multiple discharges without depressing the trigger.

S&W is providing a free bolt inspection gauge which can be ordered by consumers to determine whether their 15-22 is within manufacturer specifications. Alternatively, S&W is also offering consumers the option to send their bolt in for a free inspection, and replacement if necessary.

Since the 15-22 is a pretty popular and affordable plinker, there’s a chance at least a few of you own one, so if that is the case, get it checked out.

DOOM: Eternal – Official E3 Story Trailer

More info on the new DOOM game is, in my opinion, the best news to come out of E3 this year. Now, it looks like the Doom Slayer is not only working to stop Hell on Earth, but is also going after a vengeful Heaven, which opposes the Slayer’s attempt to stop the demonic invasion. Mix in plenty of new and old weapons, new and revamped enemies, new environments, new traversal methods, and more glory kills, while also retaining the most important aspect of a Doom title: fast-paced, action filled gameplay over story – and it looks like we’ll have a real winner of a game in our hands.

Hi-Point Firearms – ‘Name The Nine’ Contest

For those of you who aren’t aware, Hi-Point revealed a new, unnamed, 9mm pistol design at this year’s SHOT Show. A more “modern” take on the C9, the new 9mm pistol featured a slide with front and rear charging serrations, a threaded barrel, a double-stack flush-fit 10 round mag, and interchangeable backstraps.

Now, Hi-Point is looking to the public to come up with a new name for this pistol, with their ‘Name The Nine’ contest. Running today through June 13th, entrants can visit Hi-Point’s website and enter their name for the new Hi-Point 9mm pistol. The best entries will be chosen by Hi-Point, and in the second phase of the contest, running June 18th through June 24th, visitors will be tasked with selecting their favorite name among the phase one winners.

The overall winner will, of course, receive one of the brand-new, yet-to-be-named pistols w/ personalized serial number, and 250 rounds of Barnaul 9mm ammo.

Today Is The 75th Anniversary Of D-Day

75 years ago today marks D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy. General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s address to the Allied Expeditionary Force who committed the operation can be read below:

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare – Reveal Trailer

They’re rebooting/reimagining the Modern Warfare series for this year’s CoD release. Fan favorite character Captain Price is back, along with a completely new story. Oh, and reportedly cross-play between Xbox One, PS4, and PC is going to be a feature, along with all DLC multiplayer maps being free content for all players.

The LYRA EDC ‘Morphing’ Knife – Currently On Kickstarter

LYRA is an EDC ‘Morphing’ knife, and the second Kickstarter campaign by California-based Horizon Knives. Named after (and inspired by the shape of) the constellation of the same name, the LYRA consists of a titanium grip/housing that folds out using a unique linkage system, and a 1.2″ D2 tool steel blade.

This linkage allows the LYRA to fold out from a compact 2″ stowed length to a full length of 4.7″, 3.2″ of which is the extended handle. This also has the added benefit of a full, four-finger grip.

While stowed, the blade is fully protected, and sits within a “U” channel.

The LYRA also features a lanyard hole for attaching to a pack or a keyring, and also makes for a solid, albeit unintentional, bottle opener.

Terminator: Dark Fate – Official Teaser Trailer

Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise their roles as Sarah Connor and the T-800, respectively, in a movie directed by Tim Miller of Deadpool fame, with a teaser synopsis which deliberately states the film takes place after Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Seems to be equal parts nostalgic pandering, and an overt attempt to try to discredit any other sequels or spin-offs of the Terminator franchise. All the same, it’s got guns, explosions, and a liquid-metal Terminator, so all the pieces are there. Hopefully it’s decent.

Kinda cool to see a Fostech Origin, though. I had to repeat that part a few times to confirm, but the skeletonized drum mag is a dead giveaway.

Terminator: Dark Fate is slated for a theatrical release November 1st, 2019.

NERF Zombie Strike Nailbiter

With the post-apocalyptic-DIY aesthetic of NERF’s Zombie Strike series, I suppose it was only a matter of time until a blaster modeled after a nailgun would be introduced to the line. However, the Nailbiter, as it’s called, actually happens to be one of the cooler blaster designs to come out lately. Requiring “no priming” / chambering of a dart, the Nailbiter feeds from an 8-dart “vertical indexing clip” which feeds upwards as it fires (see below video). The blaster is compatible with NERF stock and barrel extensions that work with other N-STRIKE and Zombie Strike blasters, and an accessory rail on the bottom of the blaster allows for the attachment of additional accessories.
