“I’ve been crafting as a hobby for years now, and I wanted to start creating items for others to enjoy as well,” says Janelle James, founder of Ready Aim Craft. “I love being able to sort through a box of spent shotgun shells, that most people throw away, and turn them into unique pieces of art.”

“Most customers are shopping Ready Aim Craft because they’re searching for something special,” she continues. “I’ve created American Flags for husbands and brothers coming home from Afghanistan, as well as Thin Blue Line flags for family members graduating from the Police Academy. I’m humbled each and every time someone chooses one of my items to give as a gift, for occasions far more celebratory than the standard birthday or holiday.”

Ready Aim Craft’s iconic piece of art, the Shotgun Shell American Flag, was recently added to the museum/art collection at Lock & Load Miami, a premier machine gun shooting range in downtown Miami. “[It] looks fantastic and a lot of our customers have already given us positive feedback,” says Andy Serafine of Lock & Load Miami.

Future plans for the shop include participation in a variety of C&E Gun Shows through the Pennsylvania area and Catoction Colorfest later this year.

SIG SAUER® Introduces New P320® Advanced Sport Pellet Air Pistol

Wednesday, January 4th, 2017

Newington, NH (January 4, 2017) – SIG SAUER, Inc., designer and manufacturer of the world’s most reliable firearms, optics, ammunition, airguns and accessories, adds to its world-class Advanced Sport Pellet (ASP) line of airguns with the introduction of the new P320 CO2-powered pistol. This semi-automatic .177 caliber ASP pistol is the first air pistol in the world to feature a 30-round belt magazine and is designed to look and feel like the highly-acclaimed SIG SAUER P320 centerfire pistol. Weight and trigger pull are virtually identical offering recreational shooters, professionals and competitive shooters another outstanding training tool to easily hone their shooting skills at greatly reduced costs.

“The SIG SAUER P320 has been extremely well received by law enforcement, recreational shooters and competitive shooters alike, and customers have been asking for a pellet version of this pistol since we introduced our very first airguns,” said Joseph Huston, vice president and general manager of the SIG SAUER Airgun Division. “The industry has truly embraced our ASP air rifles and air pistols as excellent training tools when the cost of ammunition, lack of range time or other factors prevent people from training with their centerfire guns as much as they would like or feel they should. We are committed to producing these high-quality, CO2-powered alternatives that make it easy for people to train in their back yards.”

The P320 ASP air pistol features a metal slide with realistic blowback action and polymer frame in addition to a smooth slide safety. This air pistol is double-action only, has a front blade sight, fixed rear sight and an accessory rail which allows easy mounting of a laser or tactical flashlight. The 12gr CO2 cartridge is inserted and removed through a compartment in the side of the grip. Velocity is up to 450 fps; however, velocity results may vary depending on pellet weight, temperature and altitude. The P320 ASP air pistol also shoots steel BBs in addition to pellets and is available in two colors – Black or Coyote Tan.

MSRP: $119.99

True 42 Performance MTN DEW/LOST CAMO XD Cooler

Wednesday, December 21st, 2016

1_3_1

Let’s be blunt: there’s definitely some overlap between the demographic that consumes Mountain Dew soda, and the demographic that owns a fair bit of products covered in hunting camouflage. Still, it’s a bit surreal to see the MD logo plastered on Lost Camo XD pattern camouflage, even if that logo is also logically plastered on a cooler. Then again, this is the soda that had a licensing deal with Kryptek a while back.

3rd ANNUAL PYRAMYD AIR CUP SEES RECORD ATTENDANCE Nearly 100 Competitors Attend Premier East Coast Airgun Event

Tuesday, September 27th, 2016

CLEVELAND, OHIO (September 27, 2016) – The third annual Pyramyd Air Cup, hosted by the world’s largest internet airgun retailer Pyramyd Air, boasts the best attended AAFTA Grand Prix event for field target shooting in the U.S. during 2016. Hosted in conjunction with local AAFTA club, the Ohio Airgun & Field Target Shooters Association (OAFTSA), nearly 100 shooters descended upon the Tusco Rifle Club in New Philadelphia, OH September 9-11 for the most challenging and exciting airgun match of the year. The third annual competitive shooting event attracted amateur and professional shooters from all over the country and delivered winners in multiple airgun shooting disciplines including Field Target shooting, the fast-paced GunSlynger event, and the PayDay Challenge.

“We introduced a record number of people to the sport of airgunning at this year’s Cup,” says Pyramyd Air CEO, Joshua Ungier. “And while the competitive spirit was remarkable amongst shooters, it was the almost tangible level of anticipation for each exciting course of fire that really sets the Pyramyd Air Cup competition apart from others,” he said.

According to Hunter Piston class competitor Peg Brewer of Victor, NY, “Every aspect of the Pyramyd Air Cup goes above and beyond. Pyramyd Air makes the Cup a 4 star event all the way around.” Brewer states, “I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that their demo tent, filled with an abundance of exciting airguns, got me into the sport.”

Reigning AAFTA National Champion Ken Hughes, added, “What a weekend! The Field Target courses were challenging, and the wild, rapid-fire style of the Gunslynger event was difficult in its own right. It was great getting to meet new airgun buddies and check out the new gear from the many vendors in attendance. I really enjoyed the PA Cup!”

“Field Target is one of the most difficult shooting disciplines out there,” says Pyramyd Air Cup Match Director, Tyler Patner. “Combine the multiple skills required to rise to the top of your game, with the myriad of factors you take into account at each lane, and you’ve got a challenging sport,” he says.

“Targets are small, metal silhouettes of animals that consist of a kill zone and a colored paddle,” explains Patner. “Placed at unknown distances from between 10 yards to as far as 55 yards, the targets have kill-zones ranging in size from 3/8 inch to 1 1/2 inches. When the pellet passes through the kill zone and hits the paddle, the target falls and you’re awarded a point,” he said. “It’s a game of precision and practice. You range find with your scope, dope for distance, take the wind into account, and then you have to execute. It’s really a lot to take in,” he added. “There are different restrictions based upon your selected class, but the challenges remain the same. Wind doping, range finding, and remaining mentally tough over the entire course of fire are the biggest hurdles competitors face,” Patner says.

2016 Pyramyd Air Cup Winners:

Field Target:
Open PCP – Brian Van Liew
Hunter PCP – Bill Rabbitt
Hunter Piston – Paul Manktelow
WFTF PCP – Greg Sauve
WFTF Piston – Hector Medina Gomez
GunSlynger:
PCP – Greg Sauve
Piston – Eric Brewer
PayDay Challenge: ($200 prize, split between two shooters)
Dave Hitchcock and John Eroh

Numerous airgun manufacturers donated competition prizes and product to the 2016 event including, AirForce Airguns, Air Arms, Beeman, Crosman, Birchwood Casey, Diana, Feinwerkbau, H&N, Hawke Sport Optics, JSB, Leapers, Plano, Predator, Umarex, UTG, and Walther. “You’d be hard pressed to find an airgun competition with a better selection of prizes for its winners,” says Ungier. “Our winner’s packages help assure shooters that if they’re limited to traveling to only one competitive shooting event, they recognize the Pyramyd Air Cup as the industry’s premier event.”

For more about information about the official results of each competition, including the GunSlynger and the PayDay Challenge, see PyramydAirCup.com/2016-match-recap.

Recent Rash of Police Fatalities Revamps TenCate Advanced Armor’s Plate Up, America! Campaign

Saturday, August 20th, 2016

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 17, 2016) – Today TenCate Advanced Armor (TCAA) renewed its pledge to protect the nation’s law enforcement community through the Plate Up, America! campaign. Sparked by the recent increase in highly publicized active shooter incidents in the United States, the campaign’s primary goal is to equip all law enforcement and first responders with enhanced rifle threat protection.

“Law enforcement officers are often first on the scene for active shooter incidents and require protection from high-caliber weapons that standard soft body armor simply cannot provide,” said Michael Haynes, Plate Up, America spokesman. “Our advanced armor bridges the gap between soft armor which is designed to protect against common hand gun threats and the ever increasing use of high power rifle threats.”

Launched last year, the campaign provides a platform for officers, their families and concerned citizens to take an active role in lobbying local governments and police precincts to provide funding for the appropriate life-saving armor.

“Now, more than ever, there is a need to protect and serve those who protect and serve us,” said Haynes. “By partnering with city administrations, precincts, law enforcement officers and their families, as well as concerned citizens and other industry leaders, we are confident the Plate Up, America campaign can reverse the alarming trend in police fatalities.”

German Battleships Hit the Waves in World of Warships

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

Discover German efficiency at its finest with eight mighty battleships, and brace for a line of British cruisers

August 17, 2016 — World of Warships welcomes the highly anticipated addition of German battleships. Meticulously engineered, sleek and powerful, eight new warships are already available in the game. And that’s not all. Captains can also ready themselves for a second wave as World of Warships is poised to add British cruisers this autumn.

“We’re extremely excited to be finally letting these fearsome German vessels loose on the battlefield,” said Artur Plociennik, Global Publishing Producer, World of Warships. “They’re versatile warships that are adept at bringing the battle to the enemy. Plus, with British ships on their way, it’s just another way we’re giving players as much freedom as possible to make the battle their own.”

German battleships dive into the heart of combat, bringing to players several iconic heavy-hitters: the legendary Bismarck (Tier VIII) with its vast expanse of armor and 8 main caliber guns in 4 turrets; the strongly armored Bayern (Tier VI); and the tough Großer Kurfürst, whose strong torpedo protection, enhanced horizontal armor and more advanced AA guns can even compete with mighty ships such as IJN Yamato and USS Montana.

German battleships leverage thick armor, a high rate of fire, and powerful secondary weaponry to make them extremely tough in close quarters combat. At the top of the branch, these vessels also benefit from “Hydro-acoustic search” equipment, which allows them to rapidly detect nearby opponents. In short, German battleships are perfect for the captain who isn’t afraid to get up close and personal.

Not long after the launch of the German battleships the first branch of the British fleet will also be preparing to set sail. AIR BOLT BY AIR VENTURI Revolutionary Carbon Fiber Bolt Converts .50 Caliber Airgun into Powerful Archery Tool

Monday, August 1st, 2016

Solon, Ohio (August 1, 2016) – Air Venturi, an exclusive airgun, airsoft and ammunition importer of leading international airgun brands, today introduced the Air Bolt. The new, 430 grain, carbon fiber bolt may be used in any .50 caliber precharged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle with a barrel 22 inches or longer, and effectively transforms the PCP gun into a high-powered bolt slinger.

“The Air Bolt by Air Venturi converts your .50 caliber PCP air rifle into a powerful archery hunting tool intended for large game hunting,” said Air Venturi Director of Business Development, Paul Milkovich. “This ground-breaking innovation represents the ideal marriage of airgunning and archery by delivering an affordable addition to your existing airgun ammunition resources. With the Air Bolt, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on an entirely new archery platform. Simply take the .50 caliber PCP air rifle you already own, and add the ground-breaking Air Bolt to your existing ammunition collection. The Air Bolt comfortably fits any PCP air rifle with at least a 22-inch barrel, and accepts standard broadheads,” he says.

According to Milkovich, “The Air Venturi Wing Shot and the Sam Yang Dragon Claw each launch Air Bolts at velocities up to 500 fps, and generate up to 238 foot pounds of energy. With these kinds of numbers, it’s easy to see how the Air Bolt can transform your .50 caliber airgun into a multi-use hunting tool capable of taking trophy-sized big game.”

“In our testing, the Air Bolt consistently achieved groups of 1 inch at 30 yards,” said Milkovich. “With that kind of accuracy, it’s easy to ‘Robin Hood’ the bolts if a shooter isn’t careful – they’re that accurate.”

The Air Bolt is constructed of 100 percent Hi-Modulus Carbon Fiber with a small outside diameter that produces maximum speed and accuracy. With the 100 grain field tip, the Air Bolt weighs 430 grains in total.

Hults Bruk Introduces American Felling Axe By Dave Canterbury

Friday, July 29th, 2016

Not really that tactical, but on the other hand, who doesn’t love a good axe?

The ultimate woodsman’s axe designed by survival and wilderness skills instructor, Dave Canterbury

Åby, Sweden – (Aug. 3, 2016) – Hults Bruk, the world’s oldest active axe manufacturer, is proud to introduce a new felling axe to their acclaimed line of Swedish hand-forged axes. Created by survival and wilderness skills instructor, blacksmith and New York Times bestselling author, Dave Canterbury, the new design is based on professional felling axes made popular during the 19th century American forestry industry boom.

Felling large trees the traditional way is an art requiring skill and a proper axe. Good felling axes are often expensive competition designs, too heavy for practical outdoor use. Understanding the features of a tool, and the tool’s intended purpose, are key elements to consider when creating the perfect woodsman’s axe. Canterbury settled on a purpose built design made for heavy use in an environment of hardwood trees. By meticulously pairing the right style of axe head with the right kind of handle, the American Felling Axe drops dense, large sized trees effectively, allowing the user to work longer without tiring.

Unlike modern curved handles that provide forward momentum and leverage at the expense of control, the Hults Bruk American Felling Axe features a perfectly straight, 32-inch American hickory handle to reduce wrist pivoting on the swing. Canterbury and Hults Bruk blacksmiths poured through several traditional models and uncovered a renowned, reliable Montreal pattern axe head. Useful for more than just felling, the pattern features wide cheeks for splitting and a long, razor sharp bit for felling, bucking and processing wood. Weighing 3 1/2 lbs., the axe head is made with high quality Swedish steel, expertly forged at the historic Hults Bruk factory.

Canterbury, a blacksmith who makes many of his own tools, doesn’t have the facilities to make larger tools like axes and felt Hults Bruk was the company to craft his version of a traditional American felling axe. “Hults Bruk is the oldest axe manufacturer in the world,” remarks Dave Canterbury. “Their quality and passion for excellence makes them the perfect choice for a design that is both a usable axe for any woodsman and also an heirloom-worthy tool that can be passed from generation to generation.”

“Dave understands axe design from both the perspective of an outdoor survival instructor and as a blacksmith,” says Gerard Pegelow, Export Director of Hults Bruk. “We’re proud to partner with Dave and bring his vision to reality.”

CROSMAN CORPORATION RESPONDS TO ATA POSITION STATEMENT ON AIRBOWS

    Monday, July 25th, 2016

    Crosman Airbow

BLOOMFIELD, New York (JULY 25, 2016) Since its introduction in January, Crosman Corporation’s Benjamin® Pioneer Airbow® has captured the attention of rifle hunters seeking a safe and efficient entry into the exciting world of bowhunting, and crossbow owners who are drawn to it for its safe and uncomplicated operation. The Archery Trade Association (ATA) recently issued a negative position statement on the Airbow® that contained misstatements about this revolutionary hunting weapon.

Contrary to what the ATA has stated, Crosman Corporation does pay the required excise tax that goes towards conservation efforts supported by Pittman Robertson funds. Although pneumatic weapons are currently exempt from this tax, the arrows used by the Airbow® are subject to the tax. Additionally, because Crosman wants to support conservation efforts along with firearms manufacturers and other archery companies, Crosman is proactively pursuing the removal of the tax exemption for certain large bore pneumatic weapons, including the Airbow®.

The Airbow® may not meet the ATA’s definition of “pure” archery equipment; however, hunters that currently use archery weapons and firearms continue to petition their state wildlife and legislative leaders to make it a legal alternative to use in their preferred seasons. Consumers are drawn to the Airbow® because its performance compares closely to, if not exceeds, most crossbows. Furthermore, both consumers and state officials that have experienced the capabilities of the Airbow® firsthand recognize it as a safe alternative to crossbows.

Professional hunter Jim Shockey stated it best in explaining his support of the Pioneer Airbow®:

“Despite equipment innovations over the years, we hunters have learned to coexist. I believe we’ve become more accepting of each other, no matter what type of hunting tool we choose. And this is a good thing for the future of our hunting heritage. As hunting equipment manufacturers have innovated, the hunting market has grown, more people have jobs in our industry, and wild places and wild animals are better off. More hunters mean more dollars for wildlife conservation.”

Two hundred years ago an airgun helped lead the expansion of the West as part of the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery expedition. Today, Crosman Corporation continues the exploration of new territory with pneumatic power and the Airbow® is leading the way.

Protech Tactical Debuts The New Bark-9 Carrier For Today’s Canine Officer

    Tuesday, July 19th, 2016

    Bark-9

The refined carrier enhances protection and maneuverability for canine officers

Jacksonville, Fla. – Safariland today announced the all-new Protech® Tactical Bark-9™ carrier, the next generation of protection in canine tactical carriers. As the industry’s best-in-class canine armor, the Bark-9 carrier is the first to meet the needs of police dogs for coverage, flexibility and maneuverability. Its contoured design allows for high-speed application and assaults vital for outperforming an assailant in high-threat situations.

The load-bearing carrier was redesigned to address the changing tactics of today’s canine units to be compact and lighter weight. In recent years, some departments have transitioned from large dog breeds to smaller, athletic canines whose speed and physical techniques are critical for the challenges of the job.

“With the demand for canine officers increasing and threat levels at an all-time high, this top-of-the line carrier delivers the necessary protection with maneuverability,” said Brian Santimauro, Category Director, Tactical Armor. “The Bark-9 tactical carrier was designed with the same passion and innovation as our products for the human officer.”

The interior of the Bark-9 tactical carrier features 420-denier Cordura® diamond ripstop nylon for breathability and a comfortable fit. Reinforced stitching on the exterior of the 1000-denier Cordura® nylon carrier resists mission wear and tear, prolonging the life of the carrier.

Notable features include a high-profile hook, loop and buckle closure system, a restraint handle with D-rings for adjustable leash attachment and a modular webbing platform along the spine of the carrier for attaching video equipment. A detachable spine can be added to the back of the carrier to provide ballistic overlap with lengthened ballistic protection.

Integral to the company’s product development process, the Bark-9 was distributed to several U.S. law enforcement agencies for wear-testing. This field input facilitated discoveries and design innovations to make this the next generation of tactical carriers for today’s canine officers. The Bark-9’s product testing, along with all Safariland gear, ensures that the company delivers the best performance possible.

The Bark-9 carrier is currently offered with four ballistic packages to accommodate various mission requirements and is available now with MSRPs ranging from $1,410.00 to $2,050.00, based on ballistics selection.
