This is an image collection of experimental bullpup prototype rifles seemingly based on the AK design or at least chambered for the same 7.62×39 cartridge. At least one of the rifles, the TKB-022, actually existed. It was designed by G.A. Korobov of Tula Design Bureau, itself an arms-designing organization associated with Tula Arms Factory, and never went into full production due to its radical design; Soviet officers preferred the familiarity and reliability of the already proven AK-47 and its variants. Interestingly enough, the TKB-022 has the best barrel length to overall length ratio of most military rifles ever built, and at one point was chambered for an experimental 5.6×39 cartridge that later evolved into the current 5.45×39.
The ADAPPT XT, a multi-function iPhone 4 utility case, is an impressive-looking project currently open for funding on Indiegogo. The poly-carbonate case protects the phone from drops, nicks, and scratches and houses both a 1.5″ utility blade and a multi-tool card. The card currently functions as a 10 piece wrench set, flat head screwdriver, ruler, and bottle opener. If the project gets off the ground, both the multi-tool card and knife slot will have options of customization such as a mirror or magnifying glass, and scissors or a USB drive. Additionally, there are plans to release a case for the recently announced iPhone 5.
Soon to be joining SOG’s Blade Light Fixed is the Blade Light Folder (BLT50-N). Featuring a 9Cr18MoV stainless steel 3.9″ blade and a rubberized glass-reinforced Nylon handle, the BLT50-N has 6 LEDs molded into the handle, providing up to 37 lumens of light with a 4.5 hour runtime off two AAA batteries. The blade folds into the handle with a liner lock design, which also allows the Blade Light folder to be used as a flashlight. Available this October.
‘America’s Fighting Dinosaur’ is a short film currently looking for funding on Kickstarter. It’s a faux documentary on the exploits of “Pvt. “Little” Sammy Vogel, a 7 ton, 40 foot long Army infantryman and Tyrannosaurus Rex” and his actions during WWII. The project has already easily reached past its $10,000 goal, however the creator has stated that any additional funds up to and past $20,000 will be used to extend the original run time of 10 minutes to roughly 40 minutes, along with adding additional rewards to the different donation levels, such making the soundtrack available via digital download and posters and t-shirts.

ThinkGeek is selling replicas of the Imperial Death Star Officer’s Cap from the ‘Star Wars’ films. They’re created from the existing cut patterns from the LucasFilms archives and made using a heavy, custom dyed, all-cotton weave, which is similar to the fabric used to make the originals. The cap also includes an aluminum Imperial disk, which functions as “the metal thing in the center of the forehead”. Great for cosplay or just wearing around, because nothing says ‘I’m awesome’ quite like an Imperial Officer’s Cap.
Seen above are Bag Man, Dr. Drake, Pink Fluffy Bunny, and White Bunny, the four new CIBoys created through a collaborative effort between Magpul PTS and Mad Rabbit Studio, a Taiwan based creative design house. The four CIBoys are inspired by Magpul Industries and as such feature the Magpul logo somewhere on their design. No word on pricing and availability at the moment. Also, I’ll be damned if Pink Fluffy Bunny doesn’t look like an unholy union of Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko and the Trollface of internet fame, but with a red suit.
‘Tilt-Shift Vol. 1: The Quite Profession’ is a graphic novel written by Jose Torres-Cooban with art by Joshua Hood. The 12-issue series details a first-hand account of the actions of Team Galahad through the eyes of combat photographer Specialist Freddie Blythe. The purpose of the series is to shift perspective on the Global War On Terror to those fighting on the front lines and promises to be the closest thing to the full Special Operations experience found in any medium, being written by actual Special Operations combat veterans.
Tilt-Shift is currently up for funding on Kickstarter.
This impressive bladed implement the Victor Lee VL-03B Fantasy Folding Knife. It features three 3″ curved black stainless steel blades that can fold into the knife body. The handle is anodized aluminum and has a belt clip. It kind of reminds me of the Glaive, minus two blades, of course; based on some reviews I’ve read I also wouldn’t suggest throwing it.
Drones+ is an app designed by Josh Begley that has a simple premise: actively mark (via a ‘pushpin’) on a map the locations and other data on/facts about U.S. drone strikes. The information that’s used is already compiled by and pulled from the U.K.’s Bureau of Investigative Journalism. However, Apple’s review team has denied the app availability on the app store not once, but three times. The reasons given included: “The features and/or content of your app were not useful or entertaining enough… or your app did not appeal to a broad enough audience.”. Later, an additional attempt yielded this response: “We found that your app contains content that many audiences would find objectionable, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines”. While I don’t have any opinion on whether the app’s rejection is a good or bad thing, it seems pretty clear that Apple feels this app may incite controversy with some groups and is trying to avoid any potential issues.
Looking for an addition to that tacticool man cave you’ve been planning? Then you might feel inclined to pick up a few of these 9mm Gun Sconces. Each Sconce is handmade by being slip-cast in ceramic through plaster molds. The base measures roughly 4″x7″ with a total height of 13″ including the shade and fixture. They come with a matte black top hat shade lined with gold and are already wired for easier installation.
The Gun Sconce is the work of ceramicryan/Loaded Objects Ceramics, who’s work I’ve covered in a previous article.

The Tank Vest is a modular, PALS webbing based storage system that allows users to attach MOLLE and ALLICE gear to their motorcycle to improve storage capacity. Tank Vests are made from 1000 denier Cordura nylon and uses a system of military grade straps and synthetic buckles to attach to the tank frame. This separates the Tank Vest from other storage options that use magnets or require drilling into the bike’s frame. A feature also unique to the Tank Vest is it fits around the gas cap, negating the need to remove the vest during refueling. Currently, Tank Vests are being made for Kawasaki KLR650, KTM950/990 Adventure motorcycles, some models of Harley Davidson, the XR650R, and the Boulevard 800, with a vest for the Vstrom 1000 coming out mid-September; more models are being made based on customer demand.
The Tank Vest is available in the following colors: Black, Coyote Brown, Woodland MARPAT, ACU, MultiCam, OD Green, and Safety Orange.

It seems when the Russians stole the plans for S.H.I.E.L.D.’s helicarrier, they drastically misinterpreted the proper dimensions when building their own version.
