To say that Manta Rails are simply a slip-on grip cover for your rail system wouldn’t be doing them justice. Manta Rails are made from a highly resilient polymer and have adjustable grip tension for a variety of rail tolerances. They are quick to install, reduce weapon heat, protect your weapon from chemicals and abrasion, and reduce mirage and IR signature. Manta Rails are also available in a variety of colors to help break up the weapon’s silhouette and can be cut down to fit any length rail. One of the more unique and useful features of Manta Rails is the Micro Pocket design. These allow you to internally route wires and pressure switches to keep them in place and protect them from fluctuating temperatures and external hazards. Very useful if you run a light or laser on your weapon. Finally, they maintain a positive grip in practically every situation. They also do a great job of protecting your hands and equipment from the sawtooth effect of a 1913 rail. Simply put, Manta Rails are extremely versatile rail covers. I use them, and highly recommend them to everyone.

If you were hoping to get your hands on Ubisoft’s upcoming Ghost Recon title this year, think again. The publisher announced during its Q4 financial call that Future Soldier will be delayed until sometime between January and March of next year. Although I hate to see such a cool looking game get delayed, I will admit that with all the high-profile releases coming out this holiday season, it’s probably best we wait awhile for this to come out. Hell, I’d be so busy with MW3 and BF3 that I might have overlooked it, and I really want to play with all those cool future technologies, like the active cloak and predator-esque shoulder mounted rockets.
Check out this fascinating video on how Bollywood is a major threat to the ideals of radical Islam. Three billion people watch the films of Bollywood, which dramatize the tensions between modern and traditional teachings that young people in Arab and Muslim countries can appeal to. Plus, there’s footage of hot women dancing, which is always very welcome.
Both Ice T and Coco were at a recent event at Scottsdale Gun Club where they got a bit of shooting done. The event was hosted by US PALM, and you can see Rob Anderson posing in the pic above, along with the happy couple. Good times all around.
Despite what the name may lead you to believe, it’s actually a pistol holster, and as you can see from the video, it’s a pretty fast draw. An inexperienced shooter managed an average time of 1.5 seconds from draw to shoot using a .380. It’s also highly concealable, the holster covers everything except the pistol grip in a kydex shell, and it fits any conventional bra size. Anything that combines boobs and firearms in a positive manner is alright by me.
This is an image of the Unabomber’s shoes, which appear to have Chuck Taylor soles used as false bottoms to throw off any potential trails. They’re up for grabs, along with many of his other personal effects, through the U.S. Marshals’ Auction, which will run from May 18th through June 2nd. The proceeds of this auction will go to compensating the Unabomber’s victims.
This is a custom made LEGO accessory of the De Lisle carbine, a British weapon that saw limited use in WWII due to very low production numbers, best known for its extremely effective, yet very large, suppressor. It was made by JONATHAN ELDRIDGE, a user on MOCpages.
Hell, yes. I’m not expecting much realism, especially based on what I read from this leaked plot, but maybe MW3 can make up for Black Ops’ (mostly) anachronistic armory. Just give me that, Infinity Ward! And Sledgehammer games… And Raven Software… Screw the story, I’d just really like to see the AK-74m for once in a Modern Warfare game.
Expect plenty more info at E3 and the months leading up to November. I can guarantee it’ll be released then.
It’s the classic Boonie hat design, but with a few modern features added by Blackhawk! to appeal to the modern warrior. The hat itself is 50/50 NYCO with a self fabric brim lining and self fabric side-band branch loops. It includes mesh side vents and crown lining, and a hidden mesh map pocket. A square VELCRO loop on the crown allows for attachment of badges and other materials, and a drawstring with rear cordlock can be used as a chinstrap or cinching cord. The DM3 Desert Digital camo model is shown above, but MultiCam is also available, which I happen to own. It’s a very good Boonie, although I suggest going a half-size above what you normally wear for a hat, otherwise it could be a bit tight.
German news channel N24 confused the actual emblem of SEAL Team Six with an emblem made by a member of Maquis Forces International, a Star Trek fan organization based on the Maquis, itself an organization featured in The Next Generation*, Deep Space Nine*, and Voyager*. Based simply on how cool it looks, I could see why N24 would settle with the (unintentional) imposter emblem. However, the inclusion of a phaser, a Klingon skull, bat’leth swords, ‘SEALS’ instead of ‘SEAL’, and the word Maquis should have been enough evidence to point towards some kind of error. After all, SEAL Team Six did use the HK416 in the Bin Laden takedown, so proper recognition from a German news channel isn’t uncalled for. It’s still funny, though.
*These are all Star Trek series that nobody cares about.
Norwegian troops with G3 variant rifles were training when the throw man doesn’t quite make it with his flashbang. This is exactly the kind of thing training is for, and hey, they got a good laugh out of it. I know I did :).
A comic geek dressed as Batman decided to go full-on vigilante in Michigan, but was caught by police early yesterday morning while hanging off the ledge of a building. Although his climbing skills weren’t up to snuff, he was prepared to rumble: besides a utility belt that contained a collapsible baton and a can of pepper spray, he was also rocking a pair of lead-lined gloves. No information on him having any batarangs or world-class martial arts skills, I regret to say. Because of his obviously beneficial service to the community, he was charged with possession of dangerous weapons in addition to trespassing. Just goes to show you how dangerous, under-trained idiots get very little respect these days. Or antiperspirant for that matter.
If you’re in need of a new Remington 870, a new AC, and you live in or near Plant City, Florida, then you’re in luck. Struggling United Electrical Systems of Plant City has recently started a promotion where if you purchase and have a 15 seer Air Conditioning system installed by the company, you qualify to receive a free Remington 870, provided you pass the mandatory background check. The promotion was started to benefit both United Electrical Systems and the owner’s other store, a licensed gun shop, Shoot-N-Irons. Any customers that don’t qualify to receive the shotgun will have a charitable donation made in their name. It’s not the most original promotion, but if it helps them drum up more business, then more power to them.
Badger Ordnance is now offering a charging handle for all those left-handed shooters out there. The Badger Ordnance Left Handed Tactical Charging Handle is mil-spec with mil-spec black anodized coating and weighs in at a light 1.45 oz. I’m glad to see products like this come out, since I’m a firm believer in equal opportunity ass-kicking.
Ryan Palser, CitizenSnips on Flickr, built this replica of the turret from the first Portal with a real working laser. Sadly, it doesn’t track targets nor ‘dispense product’ in the form of hilarious spoken lines, but it’s still incredibly impressive. Also worth mentioning is his replicas of the Fallout 3 AER-9 laser rifle and A3-21 plasma rifle. I can’t wait to see what Mr. Palser comes up with next.
This Advanced Armament Corp. shirt is made especially for the ladies. Made from 100% cotton, each shirt is available in either black or grey, and is emblazoned with the text I ‘love’ AAC, with an AAC-appropriate skull with a bow representing the ‘love’. It’s, uh, pretty flattering…
As acknowledgement for their 100th Anniversary, Trussardi 1911 is releasing a special edition run of sunglasses. The lenses are handmade by Carl Zeiss Vision Sunlens and feature the Trussardi 1911 camouflage pattern edged around the lenses, somewhat reminiscent of woodland. They’ll be limited to just 750 pieces, each with an individual embossed serial number and included is a leather camouflage case with a certificate. The Trussardi 1911 100th anniversary limited edition camouflage sunglasses will be available June, 2011 on Trussardi 1911’s online store and at concept stores worldwide. At 590 Euros (about $850 US) they aren’t cheap, but how often does a company’s 100th anniversary roll around?

Cast from an actual demilled Mk 2 hand grenade, these black soaps are hand made using an aloe and olive oil base and are scented in sandalwood. Other colors are available, and also have different scents: Pink(black cherry), Blue(almond honey), Yellow(vanilla), Green(spearmint), Dark Green(sandalwood), Orange(sweet orange), and Purple(lavendor). Plus, 1% of sales from these soaps goes towards Wounded Warrior Project. If you were looking for a soap shaped like an explosive, you could do a lot worse.
Microsoft is running a promotion for all players of the Gears of War 3 beta called ‘Never Fight Alone’. By meeting certain criteria, they would receive extra beta codes to invite friends to participate in the final week of the beta. Through this program, I got two codes, and I’m giving them away, first come, first serve:
CVRD4-27CPH-WXDWC-6P937-T3C6Z
932VH-TPJT7-2WDRD-GXRK3-3TTXZ
If you get a code, don’t forget to friend request ‘Tactical Fanboy’ via Xbox Live if you haven’t already. If you don’t win, it couldn’t hurt to add me anyway. And remember, the beta ends on Sunday, May 15th. Good luck!
I just bought a pair of these. The footbed’s made from real yoga mat, the strap has a super soft jersey liner, and it’s made from materials that adhere to vegan and vegetarian standards. To counter all the hippie-speak in the last sentence, the strap uses woodland camo, and they’re very comfortable sandals. I can’t recommend them enough.
One of the best things about attending a floor show is wearing a media badge. And one of the best things about wearing a media badge is accompanying it with a great sling. In comes the Advanced Outfitters Badge Sling. Although info is very sparse at the moment, you can bet I’ll be keeping my eye out for this if and when it become available.
Update: Will be available at Blade Show for $12 each. Will be available for retail after that.
Birddog1911, a member of HDfourms.com, decided to paint his motorcycle helmet in MultiCam using Duracoat paint. It’s a damn fine job, and personally I’d like to know the colors used. I have quite a few things I’d like to Crye-up, and finding the proper colors has been a pain.
I think that a day at the range is the perfect Mother’s Day present, but not everyone would agree. Don’t forget to thank your mother for all that she’s done for you!
Those who purchased the collectors edition of Dead Space 2 quickly found out that the replica Plasma Cutter that was to be included in the package, was, to be blunt, a cheap piece of crap, completely incapable of staving off an actual Necromorph invasion. Youtuber kipkay remedied this, however, with his laser hack for the Plasma Cutter. He replaced the outer LEDs with high-powered purple and blue lasers, strong enough to pop balloons and light matches on fire. In addition, he also replaced the middle LED with a stronger blue one, for aesthetic appeal. Cool hack!
Necessary warning: CAUTION!! Lasers can be dangerous! Do not point them at any living thing! DO NOT look into the beam or the reflection of the beam. Do not shine them into the sky. Always wear laser goggles. In other words, Tactical Fanboy doesn’t take responsibility for any damage to persons or property resulting from the viewing of this video and doesn’t condone the construction of high-powered laser devices. It’s been posted for entertainment purposes only. Don’t use lasers unless you know absolutely what you are doing.
